Why is GMBN the BEST TH-cam CHANNEL ON TH-cam EVER? Because of videos like this! Awsome video as usual GMBN:) I NEED TO MAKE ON OF THESE! Thank you GMBN,your awsome!!!!
You can also get a little bit of a bend in plywood by laying it on grass for several hours on a sunny day. One side will absorb moisture causing it to curve. It works better on thinner plywood of course.
Some notes for US builders: the sticks are 1x3s in 8ft length, the ply is one piece of 3/8" ply (OSB i think will be your cheapest option) and the top piece is 3/16" (looks like lauan ply), both 2' x 4'
Let Blake build his own DH track! :D ( Yes I know it will take some time, but maybe one part at a time, some jumps, doubles, drops, rock garden, curved turns etc)
Made one of these following your directions for the kids in our apartment complex..... and a landing ramp. Its brought smiles to their faces to tool around on these while all the trails and parks are closed.
Best line in the vide is “I’m pretty chuffed with that”. Never hear that over here in Canada. Thanks for the video. Have just bought all the material to build one myself.
Building this with my boy in lockdown. THANK YOU 🙏 Enjoying educating him on the importance of planning and the cornerstone of any project: “measure twice cut once principle” perfectly illustrated by you dood 👍😉
Hey :) If the long side of the rectangle makes the ramp bit and the very diagonal as the ground side then you already have your setback of the top lip for loading stability. You then can use a smaller piece to start or build a bigger ramp but anyways have less rest pieces and cut work. If your jigsaw tears the wood some painter crepe can help with that. TY for the vid i will build one with my niece. Cheers from Freiburg/GER :)
My dad and I just built two of these. They’re super fun to ride on. Today all my friends came over and they all said they wanted one. Keep up the great work 👊🤘👍
Made one of these ages ago but never thought to use it for step ups thanks for the idea. Oh and wetting the top piece of timber help heaps for bending and stops that cracking.
Good job building this, turned out awesome! People already told you about soaking the plywood in water and I thought I'd give you another tip for longevity. It's a good idea to use some sort of outdoor coating on the wood to seal it from moisture like wipe on polyurethane or some kind of exterior wood stain. Spray paint won't really do much in that regard. Also, gluing sandpaper or skateboard grip tape on the surface adds grip and even more style to it.
Really appreciate your video! Nice job! Im a Swedish carpenter, and really enjoyed watching your skills building that ramp, I'm SOOO gonna build one for myself this weekend and practice my jumps! Awesome duds!!!
Awesome, but little Hack, if you want to bend plywood, you could put it into a bathtub with hot water and wait one hour or so, than you can bend it more easily. Guitarbuilders or boatbuilders work with Steam. Best regards from switzerland. Thanks for your awesome and inspiring Content.
Came here after seeing some of the mini kicker sessions! Design input, maybe drill some holes in the bottom corner strut to make some room for some tent stakes! Sure beats having your buds having your buds sit in it so they can film some sweet footage of you sending it!
My names Blake too and I made this today it took me about 2-3 hours and was pretty easy. Super easy and durable. For all those Americans out there the 18mm plank and 9mm plank is 2x4 feet.👍
You should get together with Seth's Bike Hacks for some mini kicker madness! Also kids can totally use the power tools, teaching them to do so is my actual job. Just a couple months ago I helped two 12 year old girls build a tiny home, for example.
Let us know what Blake should build next 👇
Global Mountain Bike Network a bike
Build a *BIG* DIRT jump....!
Hopefully Doddy will be doing just that on the Tech channel soon
Why is GMBN the BEST TH-cam CHANNEL ON TH-cam EVER? Because of videos like this! Awsome video as usual GMBN:) I NEED TO MAKE ON OF THESE! Thank you GMBN,your awsome!!!!
Global Mountain Bike Network a skinny line to practice skinnys
I think we need a dedicated "Blake Builds" channel.
A series would do, I don't want to have to subscribe to 'another' MTB channel.
@@AlexisPatrickLozare agreed. A series would be better than another channel
I wonder if this was THE comment that pushed them to do an actual "Blake Builds" segment?! anyway, wish fulfilled.
School holidays?! I'm 39 mate and I want one! 😂
I'm 40 and only have a week and a half left of my school holidays :(
And my son wants one! He defo wants one!!!
Build it for "your kids".
Also 39 and will build one
Ok Boomers I’m 38 and I’m building one but not this big lol
35 and building one now.
“There’s going to be some cracking noise... but that’s okay.” That is the same thing I say about my joints at my age!
Oh god
we used to submerge wood in water to get the correct bend...works awesome
yesh
What size ply did you get

Blake should build a wooden berm or a skinny or a teeter totter
I made a DIY teeter totter video on my channel, easy as and my son and I have lots of fun on it :-)
Well done "Blake's bike hacks", you deserved a taco :)
TheHincek They are both small dudes, they like jumping and tricks, both are flats4life and both are handy with tools.
Bad And Wrong pretty accurate and perfect mix because Seth is a little bit bigger and Blake is skinny
I'm building one of these while in quarantine
Same just did
James Dempster I made it last month
Me too
Just made a table top it’s so great
yessir
Love the new Blake builds series
Thanks Penta we do too
I like how Blake mixes inches and millimeters. Consistency dude!
Some notes for US builders: the sticks are 1x3s in 8ft length, the ply is one piece of 3/8" ply (OSB i think will be your cheapest option) and the top piece is 3/16" (looks like lauan ply), both 2' x 4'
Thank you I needed this
Thank you so much! Helped me a lot.
Get some mini rockers and play a game of bike!👌🏽
Brantley C_ 34 yessss I want to see that
When bending the plywood you could also spray it with water and slowly apply weight
If you soak it in boiling water it's really flexible
Let Blake build his own DH track! :D ( Yes I know it will take some time, but maybe one part at a time, some jumps, doubles, drops, rock garden, curved turns etc)
Love how Blake's "test" would be my best jump ever lol. Thanks for this!
Same.
I love that my dad has all this stuff at hand and me and him can do this on the spot instead of weeks of planning😃
@ 15:00 Blake showing off that he can fakie now!
Wow, Blake that was an amazing backflip! I loved the car park drop over the rails. And it looked like a well thought up kicker.
Had all the materials around the house, followed the exact build and this kicker is epic! Took me an hour. So worth it.
Does it work with 29 inch tires
I’m hitting it on a surron, it should work fine
@@fritzrich666 thx!
Blake, I love you ❤️ Always inspiring to ride!
Made one over the summer holidays and it works great!!
That's some fat 2x1 fella ,looks more like 3x2 .Nice little ramp though :D
I’m taking it that it would be mega floppy using 2x1’s
@Blake: i just built one myself according to your guidance. just awesome. highly appreciated. greetings from austria!!
Built one with my lad. Can’t wait to use it.
Made one of these following your directions for the kids in our apartment complex..... and a landing ramp. Its brought smiles to their faces to tool around on these while all the trails and parks are closed.
Great work Jamie!

Build a bike repair stand for the next one plz
Wish I had one of these bad boys as a kid, many days building ramps with bricks and whatever wood could find in the street. Great build.
this si my top gmbn presenter
Love your enthusiasm, Blake. It’s like this is the first kicker you’ve ever made.
Thanks Blake - your instructions were bang on (even for a total novice). My youngest & I knocked one up in a few hours today & he's now sending it!
Turned out bigger than expected. I love ittt
Mini kicker back flip secured the "like". Nice little ramp. I am going to build one for my nephew.
Really appreciate your video! Nice job! Im a Swedish carpenter, and really enjoyed watching your skills building that ramp, I'm SOOO gonna build one for myself this weekend and practice my jumps! Awesome duds!!!

😂
And knee pads. ;)

Crispy Potato 435 and unders
This kicker rocks Blake, certainly beats the short planks on bricks I used to wipe out on as a kid!

When your putting on the 9 inch ply you can wet it so it bends easier
Blakes the best presenter by far
sick this kicker are so nice than you can do all the tricks on it
15:37 Nice ramp! The bike is nice too!
Just love the way this video has been shot and edited. Great job, Blake.
Came here after seeing some of the mini kicker sessions! Design input, maybe drill some holes in the bottom corner strut to make some room for some tent stakes! Sure beats having your buds having your buds sit in it so they can film some sweet footage of you sending it!
I have 2 of these but they are built a bit more differently

built a manual trainer, this is an awesome series, very happy I found this channel
Good work Blake!
That bike is a thing of beauty def my dream bike
Blake you are the funniest Gmbn presenter👍😄
Gmbn made me love mtb
you need a couple of vertical beams men!
just to make sure the ramp would last a long time
Tip to put on the top, soak it with water while screwing it on. By doing that it will become more flexible 👍 Nice vid Blake
Love the Blake Builds!
Love your Videos Blake!!!!👌👍
Just built my own today. Testing it out tomorrow so hyped
My names Blake too and I made this today it took me about 2-3 hours and was pretty easy. Super easy and durable. For all those Americans out there the 18mm plank and 9mm plank is 2x4 feet.👍
Thank you Blake!. I needed that information. What about those 2 lengths of 2x1?, I think they are 4 x 2 inches, aren't they?.
Hell yea a diy series would be awesome!! That type of show is guaranteed to kill it 100% 🤙🤙
it looks perfect for me!!!!! I loved the back flip Blake, from Julian
