Awesome video. Lot of great ideas. I'm a Paramedic in a Super Rural ALS County service. We have 1,000 square miles we cover in two counties. We literally never know what we're going to next. Lots of farm land, public hiking and hunting areas, recreational lakes and 60 miles of interstate and Missouri River. I work in NW Missouri. Law Enforcement as you can guess is few, far and in between. Response times can be 20 to 30 minutes. 45 miles plus easily. We really have to look out for each other. We do not have armor. Unfortunately

It amazes me that you're able to carry so much gear on your vest, our agency only allows for a CAT tq holster and a glove pocket. Supposedly the more things you have on equals more things an aggressor is able to grab on to and gain leverage on you. Still cool stuff to see!

Any suggestions for someone who does not want the armor plates but just wants a vest with attachment points to carry gear? I personally don't want to wear anything on my belt anymore. Would prefer to have everything on the vest as you demonstrate. Just no need for the plates.

You should try the Zero 9 tactical molle radio holder. Love it!

Any thoughts on handheld lighting in rural non tactical EMS? I work for a particularly poor and rural county in Missouri. I am not exaggerating but we are in crackhouses, condemned structures, and homes/trailers without power everyday. I also understand that many other providers experience the same situations. Due to distance, availability and some other factors we sometimes experience an absence or delayed response from law enforcement. I always carry a handheld light, but I was curious to see what your perspective on what serves you best from a scene safety perspective as well as patient care(sometimes not having power or being in a structurally questionable trailer/house in which the patient must be moved emergently). I hope this makes sense. As of now, the surefire Tactician has been a pretty reliable light, but I am always looking to improve and be of a better service to my partners as well as my patients. Thank you.

Thrunite TC15. USB rechargeable and its bright af. Small and fits in your pocket. Use it in urban EMS nightly and it has served me well

For patient care, once you get hands on, a head lamp would be a good option. I dont work traditional EMS, but I wear a headlamp around my neck when I have a helmet on.
Try checking out the Petzl Bindi or Petzl E Lite, it honestly might be a small enough to wear under your shirt like a necklace and if you end up in a dark spot you can whip it out.

What earpiece are you using with your APX radio? How do you like it? Been thinking about trying one out for a while now, just haven't made the jump.
