Angus Young and his brother Malcolm are from Scotland (they moved to Australia later) Brian Johnson (singer) is from Newcastle England. ACDC comes from the electrical tag on Angus and Mal's sisters sewing machine, (sitting in the room while deciding a name). The school boy outfit was just one of many "gimmicks" they tried in 1973 to gain momentum. Dressing in drag, and even a full gorilla suit was tried first. Bon Scott (another Scotland born transplant to Aussie) was their lead singer from 1974 -1980 This is when they gained their initial stardom. Their first singer, Dave Evans, disappeared without any recordings for the band. Cliff Williams (bass) and Phil Rudd (drums) are the only 2 true Aussies here, and this is decades after their peak. The #1 true Rock Band ever.
Brian and Angus have been drinking tea and smoking cigarettes for decades and Brians voice is riddled with soot and smoke. Giving him that rough "Geordie" gravel in his voice.
@@jonathanbouthillette753 True. The Youngs moved to Australia when Angus was about 7. I’m 2 years older and remember the subsidised emigrations to the Antipodes. They would charge a family £10 to go. Angus and Malcolm were part of that. Bon was fabulous. I remember seeing him carry Angus round on his shoulders. Bon was a candle that burned too bright. Brian is like your great singing, cool racing driver uncle.
knowing fact about this song was when on tour in Australia they was on a tour bus aka van with no air con on a 40 degree day and said on way down the highway was like hell and they are a australian rock band
Formed in Australia in 1973….and still going strong…. Angus Young ( guitar)…. Only original member left from the early days…. Phil Rudd ( drums) not far behind…Bon Scott (Deceased) vocals 73-80, Malcolm Young ( Deceased) Rhythm 73-2010….lead vocals now Brian Johnson….50 + years of songs to discover.
AC/Dc were formed in Australia by the Young brothers who had emigrated from Scotland with their parents. The singer in this video is Brian Johnston who took over from Bon Scott when he passed away. Brian Johnston is from the North East of England and is a Geordie. Unfortunately we lost Malcolm Young (rhythm guitar) not long ago. This song was written by Bon Scott in the early 1970s. He once told the band that if anything happened to him they should hire Brian as his replacement so they did and carried on to even greater success than they had already enjoyed.
Actually the boys are British born. Migrated to Australia at a young age. Did their apprentice ship in Australia in the music industry and then showed it off to the world. Would that happen at a Barry Manilow show?
@@KathyLuluandDonna Trust me, that would never happen at a Barry Manilow show. Keep up the good work. If you want to get a good reaction, can I suggest you react to mom and dad by Frank Zappa?
At least four of AC/DC's members, including the Young brothers, are actually Scottish. They immigrated to Australia. To be fair though, that is where they started the band and the rest of the members are Aussies. Their main magic was that Angus could play some creative pentatonic solos really fast, their original singer Bon Scott wrote some genuinely bad boy rock and roll lyrics, Brian Johnson (shown here) picked up the mantle after Scott's death and did just as well, and most importantly, Malcolm Young's incredible riffs. He could do more with three chords than most guys could do with all of them. His uncanny ability to make so much out of so little is seen since his death and AC/DC's attempts to write without him (read as: it sounds like a very cheap imitation of their own music). Malcolm was AC/DC and is probably the best rhythm guitarist who ever lived. He was certainly the most creative. Dirty Deeds and Hell's Bells are great examples. Honestly, I think only Noddy Holder and Brad Whitford can even come close. Maybe Nasty Suicide, but that's, I think, being generous.
This is 2009. AC/DC started in 1973. Everyone on that stage is over 50, some over 60 and still the greatest rock and roll band ever. And the crowd? I am quite certain there were teens in that crowd screaming their lungs out for them. It's 2023 now and AC/DC is STILL the greatest rock band ever and is still in the top 10 in downloads consistently. How some little band out of Australia become Rock Gods... doesn't matter, happily they did because life is a little better with their music in it.
❤watch them live at Olympen, Lund, Sweden 1977, they fronted Black Sabbath...😊 17 years old, born midsommar 1977... anyway... still get "electic" when I hear them😂!
Angus, Mal and Bon scott were all originally from Scotland and moved to Australia when they were young. Brian is from uk, and think phil was from New Zealand. A blend of accents. This song is about a real highway in Australia they drove to gigs.
Highway to hell was originally sang by Bon Scott who was the original singer of ACDC unfortunately he died from alcohol poisoning in 1980 I believe and the lead singer is now Brian Johnson I love ACDC
Just for understanding, AC/DC are billed as Australian and did form there, but only one of them, the drummer was born in Australia, Brian Johnson (vocals) is from county Durham, England, the Young brothers (Malcolm and Angus) are from Glasgow (Malcolm has since died) Scotland, and the bass player Cliff Williams is from Romford in England, their original vocalist Bon Scott was also from Scotland and he even played bagpipes and featured them on one of their early hits ("It's a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll").
now that you all have taken the "Highway to Hell" with AC/DC you might consider taking the "Stairway to Heaven" with the greatest band that has ever existed - Led Zeppelin. I would suggest the 1973 live @ madison square garden concert
If you ever saw AC~DC at the MTV Music Awards, they play this at a lower speed than usual... They were basically doing a favour to the awards by showing up in the first place but they were ordered by the suits that they only had a set amount of time to play their couple songs, and then told they had to get off the stage for "more important acts". Basically, play your two songs, and f*ck off. AC~DC cranked their speed down so they took up more time as a middle finger to the egos in charge... and they also showed up every single act there as well by being the most talented guys in the room. They're Gods amongst wannabes, and they proved it.
Forget their age, they are musicians...... musicians don’t normally lose their talent or skill unless by injury or drugs. I have seen an unknown sax player in his 70’s hitting every note perfectly while drunk ( leg less), then fall over backwards slamming his head into the floor...... he didn’t miss a note and continued playing without mistake from the floor until the song ended. That is what real musicians do....... without computers for pitch and tone correction and now we have cheap affordable computers that actually play and sing for you...... even in the recording studio. Right from the start , once they hired Bon Scott as lead singer, the band rocked with HIGH energy...... all live performances started off dressed but as Bon and Angus started to drip perspiration the shirts were removed. Have a look at some videos from the 1970’s, live at the Apollo. I suggest Let There Be Rock as a starter. Then maybe A Long Way To The Top, Dirty Deeds and TNT.
Theres not many bands that can make an audience react like ACDC, but another Aussie band that can was INXS , in excess, Suicide blond at Wembley stadium. Or Guns and Roses Paradise city.
Makes me wish Freddie was still around, cos him and Queen would absolutely have to be added to that list if he were still here rocking out. Makes me also wonder how Queen's music might have changed throughout the 2000's and what style they'd be doing today - or if they'd still be making new stuff or just doing concerts of their "classics".

Anyway, I think you haven't met this impressive singer yet, so here is the link to the first song that Dimash performed in China in that year 2017, the song S.O.S., and if it doesn't bother you, I would like you to mention me as the person who recommended it to you...Warning: You have to be prepared for thousands of views, comments and new subscribers...The video It is more recent, so it does not have the millions of views that the first ones, but it is more complete, including an intro, subtitles in several languages and better audio and sound quality...th-cam.com/video/bDX3FhmyNac/w-d-xo.html
Interesting. We can look into adding it to the list at some point.
The Xbox 360 sound at the beginning is gold 😂
this is pure talent respect it
It definitely is
😮 Argentina fans are the best Rock on ACDC-Awesome reaction guys cheers🎉
I got goosebumps never seen a crowd like that
Wait until you see what we have coming up in the future
That'll do it for sure
Cliff Williams is English and Phil Rudd is from New Zealand. The only true Aussie ever in ACDC was Mark Evans the bass player before Cliff Williams.
They are all born in Scotland and there parents immigrated to Australia. With the exception I think of bon Scot
The Young brothers are born in Scotland, Phil is Australian and Cliff and Brian are English.
Bon Scott was a teenager I think when his parents emigrated to Australia from Scotland.
I turned my volume up and i still had trouble hearing you guys
This was a botched editing unfortunately
They are Aussies but Brian is a Geordie Brit. Best band in history.
The only aussie is the drummer, cliff is from england and the youngs are from scotland
@@primalengland brian is the guy you would love to have drinks with
knowing fact about this song was when on tour in Australia they was on a tour bus aka van with no air con on a 40 degree day and said on way down the highway was like hell and they are a australian rock band
It's like Scott knew how successful they would be
@@KathyLuluandDonna He certainly knew that Brian had a fantastic voice and stage presence.
Actually the boys are British born. Migrated to Australia at a young age. Did their apprentice ship in Australia in the music industry and then showed it off to the world. Would that happen at a Barry Manilow show?
That's really cool. I can't say if that would or would not. We've heard of Barry Manilow, but I don't think we've ever heard any songs
@@KathyLuluandDonna Trust me, that would never happen at a Barry Manilow show. Keep up the good work. If you want to get a good reaction, can I suggest you react to mom and dad by Frank Zappa?
Most ICONIC Rock band ever...
The band is from Australia but some of the members immigrated ther
AC/DC
Rush
Scorpions a very close 3rd
Best 3 live bands in Rock history. And I've seen em all in my 70 years from Abba to Zeppelin.
Hi curtain call. The drummer Phil Rudd is from New Zealand (ie KIWI)
@@wizardofoz497 I stand corrected.
And Brian is English, but i still think of them as an Australian band....The Rock Wizards of Oz.
If you want to know why Agnus has his shirt off watch "The Jack" from this concert. FReakin awesome.
Interesting. We'll add it to the list
@@KathyLuluandDonna please do. Its awesome AND hilarious :)
Awwwww. I love this kids face So excited! ❤
Thanks
imsure their voice goes after a concert,
Them originally from bonny scotland.
O what a band
❤watch them live at Olympen, Lund, Sweden 1977, they fronted Black Sabbath...😊 17 years old, born midsommar 1977... anyway... still get "electic" when I hear them😂!
Angus, Mal and Bon scott were all originally from Scotland and moved to Australia when they were young. Brian is from uk, and think phil was from New Zealand. A blend of accents. This song is about a real highway in Australia they drove to gigs.
Thier actually from Scotland..grew up in Australia
We were not aware of that
Yes Sing it ! lol
0:38 the Young brothers were born in Scotland ;), Brian in England, only Phil was born in Australia :D
Apparently with all the jumping in unison it registered on the richter scale.
That's awesome
Highway to hell was originally sang by Bon Scott who was the original singer of ACDC unfortunately he died from alcohol poisoning in 1980 I believe and the lead singer is now Brian Johnson
I love ACDC
From Australia but singer is English
Just for understanding, AC/DC are billed as Australian and did form there, but only one of them, the drummer was born in Australia, Brian Johnson (vocals) is from county Durham, England, the Young brothers (Malcolm and Angus) are from Glasgow (Malcolm has since died) Scotland, and the bass player Cliff Williams is from Romford in England, their original vocalist Bon Scott was also from Scotland and he even played bagpipes and featured them on one of their early hits ("It's a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll").
The drummer Phil Rudd is a New Zealander.
Bon Scott was their second lead singer. The original lead singer was Dave Evans who was born in Wales and emigrated to Australia.
Check out for those about to rock from the same concert
We'll add it to the list
now that you all have taken the "Highway to Hell" with AC/DC you might consider taking the "Stairway to Heaven" with the greatest band that has ever existed - Led Zeppelin. I would suggest the 1973 live @ madison square garden concert
We definitely want to do some Led Zeppelin and we'll add it to the list
It's just more impressive they still have the energy to jump around and stuff like that in their 70s.
We'll add them to the list
the guitar play is angus young one of the best guitar players to ever pick a string.
They were formed in Australia, but formed by two Scottish brothers). Most of the members who were in AC/DC were British.
In Argentina we love acdc.
liked it ??--you should also watch Hells bells & Thunderstruck from the same River Plate show. Thanks for your reaction & have a nice day.
Theres not many bands that can make an audience react like ACDC, but another Aussie band that can was INXS , in excess, Suicide blond at Wembley stadium. Or Guns and Roses Paradise city.
They were going crazy. We'll add it to the list
Señores atraves de la historia Argentina y hispano Amarica es en mejor publico del mundo, otras bandas en la historia lo han certificado COMO EL MEJOR PUBLICO DEL MUNDO, saludos desde Venezuela
You need to listen to the original with Bon Scott. Bon also wrote the lyrics.
We're planning on doing comparisons between a few songs in the future
Boss song 4 sure, originally from Ginny Scotland 😁😁
Please do more AC/DC SONGS
This was the 2nd encore of the concert, so yeah, at 60+, the voice was tired.
ACDG was bild in 1973 in Australia with Bon Scott 1980 came Braine Johnson to the Band
legendary band! ❤
