0:57 These are included not as an extra pair of "legs", in case of losing the original ones. They are there to be used in place of the original ones cuz, with the disc drive, the "height" of the console increases, so these "legs", which are longer than the original one, are there for that reason.
I travelled to India and got one. That was the last one available on Amazon and once I purchased, it immediately went out of stock 😂just got it back to Australia, and it works as expected.
That what I been saying at a same time I understand it, Imagine making both physical and digital console and people couldn't buy a physical so they get a digital instead which got Sony a idea which is ps5 slim that we can add disc drive on it and that when ps5 pro came out that you buy ps5 pro and put a disc drive on it so they don't have to waste money building a product, got me thinking PS6 most likely have digital BUT we can buy disc drive with it, I hope I wrong but I hope ps6 get a disc drive
Should you install the disk drive before or after the first time you startup the ps5 pro? In other words, should I install the disk drive as soon as I unbox my ps5 pro??
My thinking would be to boot it up first to make sure it works and you don’t void your warranty or something crazy they could try to say if it ends up not working.
Absolutely! I installed the disc drive, an M.2 SSD and my external HDD prior to starting the system for the first time. The system formatted the SSD, then updated the system, updated the controller, recognized the disc drive then the external drive.
I like how easy it is to replace though I was always too intimidated to try to fix my broken disc drive on my ps4 pro and never did it since I planned on upgrading to the PS5 anyway I was so glad when I got it and it’s nice to see that if the disc drive breaks for whatever reason and it’s not because of dust it’s pretty simple and easy to replace
Pretty sure it comes with the extra plastic horizontal stands because one is meant for when the disc is installed and the other one that comes with the console is for the digital version. At least that's how it was for the slim model. Although I think the console does look better in vertical orientation, I just don't want to risk the console falling over so I plan to keep mine horizontal.
The new horizontal stand feet are specifically for the console if you use the disc drive. They're longer and the older ones won't work if you have the disc drive attached.
Yeah, it should come with one . I won't to buy disks , also, have they seen the prices sony charge for old games? . And if your Internet is down sometimes you cant play the downloaded games ..😊
Grow up digital is easier to switch games and less storage they only delete like .3% of your purchases when I used to buy digital movies & music on iTunes 😂
@@LALakers4life34i mean with my disc drive i can have the disc of a game i want to play and still be able to play whatever digital game i have downloaded. tbh the lack of a disc drive makes it not worth it.
One of the few people that explained exactly how to remove the covers safely, i.e. that one side of them have curved locator clips, so you need to pull it up from the correct side. Thanks!
Thanks for the video. My PS5 Pro is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, but I've had the disc drive and stand sitting in a box here in the office since September. I ordered all of them direct from Sony when preorders first went live, but they actually shipped the accessories a few days later instead of shipping all the items at once.
So if you have the disc version of the regular ps5 everything interchanges the cover plate on the normal ps5 disc drive fits on the pro and the ps5 pro cover plate without the disc drive will go back on the normal ps5 after you remove the disc drive the plastic stands are different on the consoles (disc drive needs taller stands) but they interchange as well
You didn't notice the drive makes one end of the console thicker, so it comes with taller plastic stands for it, otherwise with the short stands it will tip and not sit flat.
In Croatia Ps5 Pro is 850 euros and disc drive is 140 euros. Yes I will definetely buy them both... especially after my regular PS5 died this summer two weaks after warranty expiried, and I payed it 600 euros in 2022... this is insane with the prices....
Very nice and easy setup. Definitely. Sony should have included the drive at that high premium $700 price. Especially because it is so hard to find the disc drive in my city. Unavailable everywhere, and there's scalpers selling it for ridiculous prices lol. I even saw it for $160 on both Amazon and Walmart lol. Luckily, I found a gamestop that had one left at $80 retail and grabbed it🙌
Thank you. Once you install the disc drive on the PS5 Pro and you want to have it horizontal using those two clips they provide, is the disc drive facing up (on the top) or is the facing down (on the bottom)?
This Christmas 2024 I’ll be getting a PlayStation 5 slim console I truly can’t wait been waiting patiently to get PS5, I since I’m a OG on disk drives I probably buy one just for add on along with extra dullshock controller, anyway this some great advice on this video. ❤😊
Well I’m glad at least we are able to attach a disk drive. Yes it sucks having to make an extra purchase but at least I can still play my physical games on it

Got the PS5 pro and disc drive on release date. Problem is, I can’t play any movies on this console. Games working but I keep getting “invalid disc” prompt with any movie I put in. Can anyone explain this?
I do like the ps5 and ps5 pro. The only drawback from the consoles is that they dont have a webbrowser for example. I would like to see more ways to use a ps5 more like a pc than only a gaming service at this point, considering the price.
Wouldn't say it looks fat, just gave my pro some THICC, and ya can't go wrong with that depending on your view anyhow, appreciate the video dude ^_^ getting stuff transferred from my main drive to my new Pro now, will pop in my old m.2 after the main transfer is complete
It comes with the extra feet because the original PS5 Pro feet are too short once the disc drive is added. The new feet included with the disc drive are longer
I just found out scalpers are selling disc drives and are you one of the people that bought one from them since there are no disc drives in stores everyday in stock paying $110-150 is a waste of money
Is the disk hot swapped? Like you can connect / disconnect while playing a game? And would any external USB disk be used as a disk drive through USB? Will we get 3rd party drives beside sonys one?
Sony definitely want everyone to go digital, release the ps5 pro with low unit of the disc drive. Sold out everywhere, fosho i aint paying resell price
About 75% of gamers are full digital so why make them pay for a disc drive they don’t need. Plus Sony doesn’t have to make two separate Pro consoles which reduces their costs. Another advantage is if the disc drive fails it’s much easier to replace. I prefer physical media and I’m just happy we still have the optional drive available. Should be the same when the PS6 releases.
Why is that⁉️ what’s the difference between slim console with the drive out the box and attaching the disc drive fresh out the box on the Pro⁉️ M.2 can be attached even before turning your console out the box with no issues.
