I had the pleasure to see KSE live at a tiny venue in Birmingham, AL. They are my favorite band and it was my first concert. I was third row from the stage. Jesse wouldn't acknowledge me at all but fist bumped all the men around me. kinda hurt my feelings. but then Mikey D noticed me singing all the words and pointed at me and winked. he later handed me a guitar pick that I will cherish FOREVER. third best day of my life.

+Paul Brady nah , ..nu metal is a dead subgenre , metalcore not. the problem for metalcore are "plastic bands" like asking alexandria , pierce the veil , or sleeping with sirens. they make ridiculous core...but well, not all the new metalcore bands are ridiculous...phinehas , dreamshade, erra , and bands like sylosis ( thrashcore / metalcore/ melodeath) are really awesome. oh , and bands like soilwork , heaven shall burn , and unearth , are the last decent "real metalcore "sword" ..with killswitch engage , august burns red , neaera , and parkway drive. the new metalcore is so fuckin disney...its a shame !

Robbie Crane It's pretty obvious Matt can't scream anymore, but his official excuse was "It's easy". Lol I think the new Trivium album is decent. 7/10. But in my opinion, they went even more soft than Vengeance Falls.
+Robbie Crane Trivium is at their best when they share the screaming vocals. Shogun (their best album IMO) introduced the brutal vocals of Corey on album. When you see them live, they perform songs from every album flawlessly. Down from the Sky has both Matt and Corey screaming back and forth and its amazing. Trivium didn't puss out but they made a hug mistake with this most recent album, much like The Crusade was definitely a momentum killer after Ascendancy.

I love how Killswitch always release music that embraces their original style. Never straying to far away from their roots, but always staying relevant. I hear a lot of people comparing it to As Daylight Dies, which I can hear in the finger tapping part (2:20), but the rest sounds like a continuation of Disarm the Descent to me, but with a little better production. I LOVED Disarm, but never cared for the drum sound much. The snare sounded a little lifeless. This is MUCH better in that aspect. Nicely done Killswitch! You still have this guys attention!

for all the fucks who are arguing about whether change in music is a good or bad thing, there is one important detail you are missing out on. Real fans don't listen to a band because of their name, they listen to them because of how they sound. When Howard came to KSE, I quit listening to them because I did not like their new sound. not all of it was bad but I did not listen to them for a long time. Alive or Just Breathing is a perfect album and the way KSE sounded when they were at their best. Jesse IS the life and blood of KSE and no matter what these people say, that'll never change that simple fact.

Matt's vocal cords have been torn a few times and his screams where much rougher(but not better) then jesse's and matt literally cant scream anymore. it sucks but he just cant now. but yea ATR has gone pretty soft. with maybe a couple good songs out of the last 2 albums

Robbie Crane It's pretty obvious Matt can't scream anymore, but his official excuse was "It's easy". Lol I think the new Trivium album is decent. 7/10. But in my opinion, they went even more soft than Vengeance Falls.
+Robbie Crane Trivium is at their best when they share the screaming vocals. Shogun (their best album IMO) introduced the brutal vocals of Corey on album. When you see them live, they perform songs from every album flawlessly. Down from the Sky has both Matt and Corey screaming back and forth and its amazing. Trivium didn't puss out but they made a hug mistake with this most recent album, much like The Crusade was definitely a momentum killer after Ascendancy.
KSE is the Slayer of metalcore. It's not a bad thing, you've just already heard the song before you've heard the song.
+Zane Blunt Exactly, and thats why its good that bands like Parkway Drive are evolving and changing their sound. KSE is awesome, but they should try some new things
+Jason LovesABR I wasn't questioning their greatness, especially Adam's guitar work, but you have to admit that you can pretty much tell what their songs will sound like before you hear them. They all follow the same formula, which is fine!

I love how Killswitch always release music that embraces their original style. Never straying to far away from their roots, but always staying relevant. I hear a lot of people comparing it to As Daylight Dies, which I can hear in the finger tapping part (2:20), but the rest sounds like a continuation of Disarm the Descent to me, but with a little better production. I LOVED Disarm, but never cared for the drum sound much. The snare sounded a little lifeless. This is MUCH better in that aspect. Nicely done Killswitch! You still have this guys attention!

not only did it get me into KSE that song even got me into metal in general
for all the fucks who are arguing about whether change in music is a good or bad thing, there is one important detail you are missing out on. Real fans don't listen to a band because of their name, they listen to them because of how they sound. When Howard came to KSE, I quit listening to them because I did not like their new sound. not all of it was bad but I did not listen to them for a long time. Alive or Just Breathing is a perfect album and the way KSE sounded when they were at their best. Jesse IS the life and blood of KSE and no matter what these people say, that'll never change that simple fact.
