3 SUMMER DRESSES you NEED TO MAKE!

- Hi everyone,
This week I share with you the most amazing dresses from @MaisonFauve
The Daiquiri dress that I made in both the dress and top versions. The green eyelet fabric is from @Beyondthepinkdoor the sunset viscose from Birmingham market. The amazing Acajou Lilly viscose jacquard is also from Maison Fauve.
The Cuba Libre dress from Maison Fauve is made in Rainbow fields viscose from Lady McElroy I know this is available from @AllSettoSew I also made a black and white version from Stitch Fabrics.
The final dress is the Transat dress also by Maison Fauve, in an amazing viscose that I brought at the stitch festival, from stitch fabrics, I’m not sure if that is still in stock.

I don't think the daiquiri dress that your wearing washes you out at all. I think it's because you've got the darker part of the fabric near to your neck and face. I think you look lovely in it.

To me, those colors look fabulous on you. I Just LOVE your dress. I made a shirt last week and my husband loved it, I showed him a wrinkle I couldn't get out. He told me I am so critical about my sewing and that he would have never noticed anything but a beautiful blouse. I hope you wear your lovely dress. Cheers!

Your daiquiri dresses are absolutely gorgeous. As for the Cuba Libre - I've just ordered the pattern on your recommendation. Strangely I just got a black and white print viscose and was looking for a pattern for it and this just fits the bill perfectly. Thank you

Love your dresses and yes to embracing the selvedge !! I’m being v frugal with my fabrics and using every bit of it and that means many of my items have the selvedges .

The rainbow fields dress fabric (with the green, pink, and purples) is definitely your colors! You should wear cool colors (no yellow). Gray or gray heathered would also tie in with your hair (I don't mean that as an insult!)

Love the daiquiri dress on you and it does not wash you out. I think if you had some gloss over the lipstick it would further enhance whatyou’re wearing. The black-and-white dress is very striking.

Such beautiful pattern envelopes! I am a PDF pattern till I die person (I use a projector and have NO time or desire to use paper again), but have to say those look so special, they are a thing of beauty. And I think you're the inspiration for one of the covers? The drawing has grey short hair! IT HAS to be you!
lol thank you for the thought! That’s very kind, I love a pdf too, but these patterns are heavenly, they will be released as pdfs at some point in the future, normally about 18 months after initial launch x

I would love to make them but the pdf pattern is $25.00 usd add in a meter of that gorgeous reddish fabric and it’s over 50.00. That’s a bit steep for a pattern and out of my budget. You look fabulous in them!!

I love the black and white dress best. There seems to be a weight loss epidemic amongst sewists in the Uk! Is it contagious?

I had to change the colours that I wear when I grew out my grey hair, the first dress is beautiful but the wrong colour. We need cool colours when grey.

I had my colors done in the ‘80s, and it was the best money I ever spent. I used to sew everything in soft, heathered summer colors that washed me out. Friends thought I didn’t wear any makeup when I wore everything! I’m a winter and when I wore the right colors, even strangers complimented me.
Could you sew a row of contrasting buttons down the back of the green eyelet dress?

You look amazing in all three dresses and I might just give two of them a go! Eek. Can I just ask, the last one, the Transat, could that be made/worn without the belt? So like a loose shift? Waisted dresses look awful on me due to an unwanted muffin!x
Hiya, yes you could opt to not see the side belts and if you wanted to you could taper the sides in, very straight forward x

Gorgeous dresses, they all look perfect on you. As a fellow larger busted person, can I please ask if you do full bust adjustments on these three patterns? I’m a DD/E cup (in sewing, J in bras) so am always thinking about FBAs!

With the green dress, could you repeat the cut out with paint? A shade of gray (experiment for good camouflage match) fill in the area in the back?

No problem I do periodically, the Maison Fauve sizes are very true to size using their chart x
@@sosewmad they are quite detailed but they dont share hip finished measurements. This is where I am struggling.
Just put "keepers" at the shoulders to keep in place

I adore the Cubra Libre dress! Is it possible to alter the neckline so it is higher? I don’t like my v neck so low.

As soon as you said that you felt the colour washed you out I replied (yes, out loud because that’s how I roll) well go strawberry blonde then! lol, my subconscious mind is connected directly to my mouth, bypassing my brain… it happens a lot but actually it’s right more often than not 🤣. So if you fancy a change 😉, thank me later 🤣😂🤣😂 x
