Hey good folks! In this one it's all about creating some nice covers for my Mordheim board! The techniques used can easily be used for games such as D&D, Frostgrave, Warhammer Age of Sigmar etc. I personally like these notice boards and I hope you do to! 😅 Please feel free to comment your thoughts below! Stay safe and lots of love to you all! 👍💙💛💙
great editing mate, I love how you make your videos very watchable, you can see a lot of effort goes into your editing. I love the custom posters you made!.
Really great job, I like a lot. Tip for printables that I have not seen anybody else doing (you heard it here first) ...printing on paper is great for posters, but consider doing a transfer print onto fabric for other items such as oil paintings, Persian carpets, tapestries, maps and such. You can get transfer paper which is specific to inkjet printers that is usually used for iron-on transfers onto t-shirts, but it also works well on canvas or old pillow cases etc. I made some Persian carpets and tapestries using 200gsm canvas and the texture of the fabric really sells it. Also, the canvas can be frayed at the ends to create the fringes for the rugs. The texture takes things like weathering powder well. Paper is perfect for posters, but consider an iron on print for stuff that would benefit from texture like tapestries and oil paintings or needs a fringe like carpets and rugs. It really takes it to the next level.
@@DevsDice Look forward to it. If you have a laser printer, then the iron on transfer paper for that leaves a different finish on the fabric, less glossy than the ink jet stuff. Just another option.
Thanks for the tutorial and guide. There are a lot of things i learned from this video. had to be creative with the foam boards since i don;t have other things available to me tonight (It's 9 p.m. here)
Every thing on your channel looks so good l will have to get my first edition of Mordheim I have not played for 17 years I got 3 or 4 Warbands from back when. Isn't my wife going to be happy to see this game lol Not . Now where's my glue and paint the 63 year old kid is back .Thank you Devs & Dice .
These came out looking really rad. I love the holes scattered around and the unique feel to each of the boards, along with the faded out colors on the posters themselves.
Thank you so much! Yeah I do love adding some individualism and story elements into each one, and like I mentioned, it usually plays well with the mechanics of the game as well! 👍😊
Great tutorial Leif, definitely something to give the board more interesting detail's. I like that it can give cover, a major factor in Frostgrave. Thanks Leif
So very cool. I can’t delicately cut balsa wood to save my life -it snaps into pieces every time. Fat fingers I guess. I also need practice on my maniacal laugh. You’ve perfected yours! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you Harriet! Yeah balsa wood can be very brittle for sure but with enough practice I am sure you can do it! Hahahaha! The laugh came sort of naturally as I have been a GM/DM for many years! 👍😂
Amazing work as always! I love having these flexible LoS blockers that makes the battlefield look different every time you play even if you are using the same terrain. Ideas for more videos: make some grimy bronze statues or fountains (or why not a combination?) Thanks for sharing!
You’re a real cool dude, Leif. Going to a Hobby Lobby in a bit to get some balsa wood and planning a trip to a river tomorrow on my motorcycle to pilfer some free sand and rocks for terrain. You’re a real inspiration, my guy.
Leif: from one Berserker to another, I have only one thing to say about this video: Billy-bomb badass!! I especially like the lap joint (or bridal joint) you used on the balsa wood and the custom posters. -Rick, USMC
Awsome! I'm definitely going to try this. Do ypu by any chance have a video just on how you make your posters? I'd love to see how and what you use for templates.
Great video! I really have to get some balsa wood! As for measurements, I would probably go for like 4-5cm/~ 1 3/5" - 2" in height because that is what I use for my normal house walls. I go a little bigger on castles and churches. As for painting, I would probably just went in with my black/brown wash to stain the wood. It gives a really nice weathered look to coffee stir sticks already so I think it would work on balsa as well.
Thank you so much! Please do! They were very easy and fun to make! For replaceable I think I would look at potentially adhering the print to a magnetic sheet and build in some metal or magnets into the board potentially? Would require some prototyping! 👍😊😅
I love these! Did you end up pinning the vertical posts to the bases or is just the glue secure enough? Also, is there a template or anything available for making those posters?
These look fantastic! I'm just in the process of creating some Mordheim terrain myself, so I'll definitely need to build a few of these! Hey, question, did you create all those posters? Is there a good place to find ready made Mordheim/WarhammerFantasy posters? I know I can search the vastness of the internet but I figure if people know of some great place right away that might speed things up. Great video!
Thanks Perry! I am looking into making a video on the process and if things go well then I will share the results as well! So keep your eyes peeled! 👍😊
How dod you get any gaming done on these boards!?!.. they are so good and so many stories and details..my warband would spend more time reading notice boards instead of finding wyrpstone... new warband idea.."the tourists"
Hahahaha! Yeah some gaming has been known to happen on the board but usually people tend to first be in awe, once the game is on I think we're just more immersed! 👍😅
I'm currently trying to make these, and I have to say I'm tearing my hair out with trying to get the stir sticks in the slits to line up and not fall over while the glue is drying! How did you do it? It's so fiddly!
I love it, Leif! This is so cool! How would you do this for D&D though? It would need to look more medieval for starters I'm guessing. And I'm betting that anyone in Europe is going to be more acquainted with anything medieval than I am here in the middle of the US! Great video and really great build. I love the change from styrofoam. I would give you more than just the one thumbs up if I could!
Thanks Frank! Honestly, I think the only change I would do for D&D is other posters, perhaps skip a few skulls and then it's more generic fantasy I say, what do you think? 👍😊
@@DevsDice I would think that the faces on the posters would have to look drawn instead of photographed but that's pretty easy to do in Photoshop. But as for skulls, I'd say MORE! LOL.

Agree! This is what can break up encounters in a bit more granule ways! Thanks for the nice comment! 👍😊
Great build, I love small worldbuilding terrain and a noticeboard is a must for any town center!
Thank you so much Chason! Yeah these small things really brings some nice context and story to the tabletop! 👍😃
Those look amazing. I'm definitely going to use that gouge method, for attaching planks
Thank you so much! Yeah I thought it was the best way to get the planks in there in a natural looking way! 👍😂
Sprue goo as candle wax is genius!
