Thank you mate certainly saves a lot of hassle from uncoupling all those tankers which NEM couplings they are very frustrating to uncouple and with magnets 🧲 they are very easy to just pull apart with no effort 😊kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀🤩👋🏻
Brilliant🎉 Makes Total Sense imho - I’ve always thought that vacuum pipes would look good incorporated as part of the couplings, and this demonstration is the proof of the pudding - The Best Solutions are Usually the Simple ones. 👏🏻👍🏻✨
Thank you Donni I totally agree mate they are certainly magnificent couplings, my tankers used to derail with NEM couplings on them and since I converted them all to the vacuum pipe magnetic couplings, I have had no issues at all, thank you for watching and commenting I really appreciate it kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀👋🏻🤩
Thank you Ian saves a lot of time and effort coupling and uncoupling now and with these strong magnets fitted to them no more derailments kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀👋🏻🤩
Thank you Tom very impressive smart item certainly the way forward now with magnetic couplings saves a lot of time and effort coupling and uncoupling especially with large rakes kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀👋🏻🤩
I wish the whole world had embraced the knuckle coupling system! Even in model form, better performance way easier to couple and uncouple rolling-stock.! In real life scale I've even seen drawbars used on short rake's of alike wagons maybe 3-5 wagons coupled to another 3-5 wagons etc. with the Knuckles on the very far ends of the rakes and drawbars inbetween!
Thank you David they are really good mate and certainly the way forward now, saves a lot of time and effort coupling and uncoupling especially with full rakes of rolling stock I got really fed up and annoyed with the NEM couplings pulling apart and derailing on the layout these couplings are very strong well done to HORNBY hope your keeping well kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀👋🏻🤩
Nice one Danny hornby must have sold out of them seems like we’ve all tried them and they work well glad it’s working for you there a bit pricey compared with hunt’s but look better cheers Al
Thank you AL certainly the way forward using magnetic couplings saves a lot of time and effort coupling and uncoupling especially with large rakes I got lucky with this pack as I had £13 of rewards points to spend at HORNBY so only had to spend £8 with postage well worth getting mate kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀👋🏻🤩
Thank you mate I was curious aswell until I tested them, certainly now the way forward with these will save a lot of time and effort coupling and uncoupling especially with full rakes I got fed up and annoyed with NEM couplings pulling apart on the layout, definitely going to be using more of these as they really strong very impressed with the kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀👋🏻🤩
I have used hunt magnetic couplings on my rolling stock for about a year or so. I have tested the new Hornby magnetic couplings and have found that they repel the hunt couplings due to polarity of the magnetics. If you use them you need to reverse the Hunt Coupling and then they will couple up.
Thank you Kevin for giving me the heads up, I have looked into trying hunts couplings in the past but have never actually got round purchasing or using any of there items maybe I will give them a go in the future, I certainly do like these HORNBY ones have had no issues with them at all so pleased and happy I installed these onto the tanker wagons as before the NEM couplings kept causing derailments and since I’ve used the magnetic ones they run really well without any problems, thank you for watching and commenting I really appreciate it kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀👋🏻🤩
Thank you so much for watching and commenting I really appreciate it, I agree magnetic 🧲 couplings are certainly the way forward it really does beat the NEM couplings and well worth getting and adding to the rolling stock kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀👋🏻🤩
Hi Danny, these look great couplings. I did like the view of them upwards. But as you said catches on buffers. Ideal for any stock without buffers to be put in upwards. They sure do the business between the 68 & end coach of Nova 3's. Cheers mate, ATB Kevin 👨🔧🤝👍
Thank you Kev mate you must give these a go as the magnets 🧲 on these are very strong will be getting more of these to add to more rolling stock, saves a lot of time and effort coupling and uncoupling now got really fed up and annoyed with the NEMs coming apart derailing my BOC tanker wagons now I can enjoy and relax watching them go round the layout with no issues fantastic smart item released from HORNBY kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀👋🏻🤩
@@bluebellcentralmodelrailwa4064 certainly the way forward I’m so impressed with magnetic couplings they really do keep your rolling stock rolling and not being pulled apart, fantastic 😊
Hi Danny many thanks for sharing this video, I have a rack of Bachmann MK1's coaches with the solid vacuum coupling but as you can imagine it is a pain when you want to remove a coach and normally ends with the coaches falling on their side. Do you think these magnets are strong enough to pull a rack of seven up a helix, I welcome your comments and once again thanks for the info take care regards Barry..
Hello Barry i can honestly say they pulled my rake of six heljan BOC tankers with no effort at all and they didn’t look like they were being pulled apart, I don’t have a helix or incline on my layout unfortunately but I am confident in saying I reckon they would pull yours up a helix with no issues, with experiencing the new accurascale magnetic couplings on both my MK5 coach packs and now experiencing the new HORNBY magnetic couplings, the HORNBY versions are certainly a lot stronger through my experience, hopefully you will give these a go mate you get 8 pairs in a pack and they very strong, I am certainly going to be using more of these on all my rolling stocks kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀👋🏻🤩
They look Brill, hopefully they`ll be a solution, Have you though about the accurascale one`s they sell them 8 pairs I think and a good price, I`ve bought some to try but most of my NEM fitted is boxed away, though I think they maybe to close for some stock.
Thank you Clive mate I did try those accurascale ones as I have both versions on my Caledonians and TPEs the grey delnar coulpings with 2 magnets are good but not long enough to couple up to my tankers and the TPE ones have already starting pulling apart when going round my layout as they are not very strong they are great for the first 10 laps round but now started to witness them pulling apart as I am constantly running them, also the dapol class 68 and TPE coach are different in height and the solution to this issue is by using the new HORNBY 20mm vacuum pipe as the magnets are really strong and one magnet lifts up from 68 to couple up to the TPE coach very impressive and I’m so glad I purchased them from HORNBY I got a good deal on them only cost me £8 for the pack with postage due to already having £13 in rewards points, this is certainly the way forward now for me as it saves a lot of time and effort coupling and uncoupling especially with full rakes got really fed up and annoyed with NEM couplings pulling apart and derailing on the layout hope you are keeping well mate kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀👋🏻🤩
Oh wow thank you stormmy for letting me know mate learnt something new as I was wondering what sort of stock would fit with the buck eye versions and I will take note of that thank you mate kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀👋🏻🤩
Hello mate I have only seen HORNBY release 2 versions of vacuum pipes in 17mm and 20mm and 1 small buck eye version of magnetic couplings in which they are straight but too small to fit to tanker wagons, hopefully they will release more different ones in the near future but for now these will do and when fitted they do actually look quite smart, didnt think I will like them but surprisingly i liked seeing them pulling the tankers, really happy with them and they are very strong magnets 🧲 kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀👋🏻🤩

No one has invented a simple magnetic uncoupling device yet
You can't switch off a magnet, therefore you turn it round to repel.
