After realizing Ecthaar's head is identical to Nokris' head and the fact the witch here shares his body shape (same exact robes), im beginning to believe Bungie traded out the idea of a lucent NOKRIS being the one to try rezzing Oryx IMAGINE the IRONY of THAT. Oh my god old Oryx would HATE that. The witch is still a right hand of Nokris.
When 3:00 hits,it feels like the oryx theme just intensified to times 10 feeling like the resurrection of oryx himself is imminent as we are so close to defeating the necromancer, a true race against the clock.
Actually the ghost that we break to start the encounter actually stops oryx from being resurrected at all. So yeah. Luckily for us, it wasn’t a race against the clock anymore.
@@zen4ever3if one ghost was being forced to revive oryx another could be if the lucent hive got there hands on his remains again. Also I’m still curious if they were acting under savathûns of immarus orders or did this group of lucent hive act alone seeking a new leader
@@aztumtheknightofwumbo7060 still not confirmed but possible. Why she would want to revive her brother tho is odd. He was killed and lost his power to us. By the sword logic oryx wouldn’t want to be revived. It would be heresy.
@@JamesRival I find it funny that Nessus is credited with that theme when it plays on Titan as well and actually plays first since we visit the moon before Nessus. But I also understand that Argos used that theme.
Not necessarily. The ghost we kill was one of many they tried to force to revive oryx. Even hive ghosts fear the return of oryx as they likely heard of the destruction he caused as the taken king. And even possibly knew the guardians that boarded his dreadnought to finish him off
I remember hearing The Witch Queen when I was listening to the early release of the soundtrack a few days before the expansion and thinking that it reminded me of the same tone that Regicide had, and hearing them mesh together like this is incredible

Those first 20 seconds...In my first run here I didn't notice where I was but when I accidentally killed the ghost and this track started to sound I turned around and yeah, I saw him there. Crazy what Savathun was trying to do here and apparently Xivu doesn't know Oryx was here. I can imagine his corpse will be used for some kind of deal eventually, maybe Torobatl's cleaning of the Hive in exchange of this.
The only Destiny music you can find on the official soundtracks (and Spotify) are the expansion ones unfortunately. Sometimes they'll releases seasonal music as Bungie Rewards but those are never put on Spotify. -Breshi

That was exactly what I loved about it as well. Definitely my favorite dungeon OST so far.

The damage phase (2:20) is a mix of Last Stand, Oryx’s raid boss theme
Regicide, last stand, dethroned, and even a bit of long live the king. Oryx is dead but his presence looms throughout this song
The Savathun and Oryx motif at the beginning is everything to me. Rotem NEVER misses. I wonder if Xivus motif is in here somewhere

This dungeon gives me hope that we will get a proper Lucent Nokris at some point in the future.
