  • Though I use Premium credit cards, it is not a requirement to get into using credit card points and mile toward travel. Elevate your travel game to premium cards when you're interested in realizing valuable travel perks.

    that is amazing thank you for showing us your breakdown that is a lot of annual fees but you have proven its not about the annual fees its about how the credits give you more value than the annual fee cost

      My annual fees fluctuate every year as I onboard new cards and cancel some other cards. However, on average, my annual fees are going up and so are the # of points I've been amassing for great redemptions.

      @@RSquared-travel-rewards that is what it's all about I got the amex plat last year right before the rule change unfortunately so this year my wife got an elevated offer from chase for the CSP so she got the CSP and 75K point offer then i had her refer me to get an extra 10K points and i hit the standard 60K point offer but with all that said I am at 4/24 until february 2025 so if add anything else this year it will be business cards. thinking about the amex BBP for the 15K

    I like how you laid out the use cases associated with each! For me and traveling with a family (sometimes together and sometimes separately) the 4 free AUs on the VX is clutch!! I am staying with the CSP over the CSR for now as there are no PP restaurants in my home airport. I just got the Gold this year and might test out the Platinum next year as my math on the credits exceeds the AF without even factoring in benefits. Thanks for the review and have a nice holiday season

      Glad you liked the video Ryan. I couldn't agree more regarding the 4 additional users on the Venture X. But honestly, I will be impressed if we get through 2024 without some announced changes for 2025 on the VX. AmEx Platinum's 3 AUs for $175 in total was acceptable but now at $195 each is hard to swallow. It's still my favorite card but I get why it might not work for others. You enjoy the holidays as well.

    Loved this one dude! You really clearly laid out the main benefits luxury travel cards have to offer. I can’t justify more than the annual fee on my venture x since I only travel once a year or so personally. The lounge access is by far the biggest game changer for me.

      Glad you enjoyed the video. I hope I've earned your sub 😊
      The cool thing about credit cards is that we all have our own use-cases. No need to go beyond the Venture X if it works perfectly for you. Lounge access is likely the #1 perk for those holding premium travel cards

    My plan going forward is to apply for the Hilton Aspire and then product change my Marriott Boundless card to the Ritz Carlton card.
    This will be my hotel premium duo. The Hilton gives me Diamond status with all the perks you mentioned while the Ritz gives me a 85K free night every year, upgraded Priority Pass and access to the Sapphire lounge. All for $100 less than the Reserve.
    At that point I would have to consider if keeping the Venture X is worth keeping since the Ritz covers a lot of what the Venture X does including a $300 credit.

    • @RSquared-travel-rewards
      @RSquared-travel-rewards  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I like the plan. The Aspire's free night is targeted at Hilton Resorts so be careful there when booking. However, it is a serious earner card especially when on-site at a Hilton. If you haven't seen my Barbados video from January, I stayed at a Hilton resort and easily racked up lots of points while on vacation: th-cam.com/video/1ePHFO-2uq4/w-d-xo.html
      Now that I'm running a BILT 4X catch-all, I don't have much of a use-case for the Venture X. However, I'll use the $300 credit to book a hotel on my upcoming trip. It's spend I'd do anyway and then they will also give back 10K miles so I'll continue to hold on to it for now.
      I will eventually work my way into the Marriott ecosystem. For now, all I own that's Marriott is my Amex Marriott Biz card. I'm interested in the Ritz Card because it's the Ritz card 😂😂😂 so I will soon start planning out my 1 yr strategy to acquire the card.

    Love your videos! I have the Delta Reserve and the AA Citi Executive. Delta gives me a companion ticket which is worth more than the $550 annual fee. The AA Citi is because we are close to Charlotte NC and that is an American hub. Not the absolute best value in miles earned, but valuable to my family because we can easily use these points to travel domestically. I don't put spend on the Delta card, just use it for the benefits.

    • @RSquared-travel-rewards
      @RSquared-travel-rewards  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks. I just don't see why the Delta Reserve is worth $300 more than the Delta Platinum. Do you then to get upgrades easily by having the card? - assuming that you don't already have medallion status.

    • @ScottSpanbauer
      @ScottSpanbauer 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@RSquared-travel-rewards First class companion ticket (or any other lower class). I don't have medallion status and don't think I'll earn it either so upgrades are unlikely. Just an easy way to get two nice tickets annually. You also get Delta lounge access with the Reserve.

    Idk how often you fly delta, but with the reserve, you get centurion lounge access while flying delta!

    • @RSquared-travel-rewards
      @RSquared-travel-rewards  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Delta is my go-to airline however I don't use the card for regulars purchases and not enough travel to earn status. I use it just for the companion cert and free checked bag.

    • @SENDO-X
      @SENDO-X 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @RSquared-travel-rewards so technically, you could drop the amex platinum card in favor to upgrade to the delta reserve. Aspire has clear now, and reserve gives both sky club and centurion access. So everything you use the plat for is basically already covered with your other cards. And the CSR has the best travel protections over the plat anyway. The delta reserve could replace your amex plat

    @RSquared-travel-rewards, did you live in or around the Binghamton, NY area (3:56)? By the way, I just stumbled on your channel after you had your interview with Ben Hedges. I'm subscribed and watching a bunch of old videos. Great videos all around!

      hmmm, if you watch a few of my travel channel videos on @RichardDebs you will quickly learn that I embrace all types of travel. You see me cooking and eating street food; you'll also see me dining at high-end restaurants. I enjoy haggling with locals at massai markets for the best prices and you'll also see me relaxing at luxury hotels. I love and embrace all types of travel because it is about the experiences for me.
      I might not be your cup of tea which is cool but I'll continue making content for the few who find value in my videos. Thanks for watching the video.

      Nice setup! What's your experience like with the Citi AA Executive card? Not sure if I want to pick up another airline card but open.
      Given the changes to the AmEx Platinum, it would cost you a pretty penny if you tried to issue AU cards to everyone.
