- Some of the LEGO Technic best functions are pneumatics, gearboxes, suspension, full RC, and more! However, which LEGO Technic functions are the rarest, appearing in only several or just one set? Track tensioning is quite rare, which is featured in the LEGO Technic Cat D11T Bulldozer 42131. Another rare function is pneumatic turning, which was featured in the air tech claw rig.

The fiber optics did make several comebacks after its 1996 debut: in some Minstorms sets from 1998, Spybotic sets from 2002 and Exo-Force sets from 2006, however the later ones were simplified/cost-effective versions with just one fiber and no rotating light element.
Track tensioning in tanks (and construction machines) is "manual", pumped hydraulics to change the sag on the track. This is important to prevent slippage which would occur if the tension was done with a spring (ie automated) in the new CAT. So in fact, the lego CAT is realistic, as it would suffer the same problem as a real tracked machinery if the tensioning was done with a "spring".

Old UK (and German) driving license allowed you drive all sorts of things, but tracked vehicles was not included as how to drive is completely different: brake-steer.
From my POV, the 2 speed winch on the tracked loader is because of force balancing. The faster speed if for pulling the winch out to what needs to be winched, or retracted after use.
The slower speed is for pulling under load, since you can pull heavier stuff with the same force on lower gearing, just that you'll need to apply it for longer to cover the same distance.
In short, the higher speed is for setting/packing up the winch, and the lower for actually using it

Sounds like an interesting idea. Bluetooth control is possible with the main technic hub (costs $90) and any powered up motor
@@Unbrickme I am looking for the best prices to get the most bricks and motors with bluetooth xD based on this video ai think that the best idea is to buy number 1 set or number 2 but the second set has less bricks and is only 50% cheaper. Not much. I need cost efficient sets xD anyway I think 42114 Volvo is the best. The calibartion of the pad with motors that is a huuge problematic topic tough I think

42102 has no crab steering...
the cat d11 should not have schock absorbers. they have no such thing in real life and in order to adjust tension you have to pump a ram with grease manually. it is quite realistic.

Sorry newbie here started building this year and have about 8 technic 2 creators 2 ideas sets. Could someone please help me with some websites/forums etc that are good for buying retired sets sealed. And just fun things.
Bricklink is the best place to buy old sealed LEGO, eBay is good too but it’s usually more expensive. Mercari is a good option too but it has mostly new and currently available sets, old sets are rarely available on mercari
