    Good video and guide. I have the Asus TUF AX-3000 router and have found though lots of testing, that by limiting the Adaptive QoS to a maximum cap of 300Mbps is the only way to completely eliminates Bufferbloat on this router. So far this provides a consistence A+ score with 0ms latency added for both download and upload. My unloaded latency is 4-5ms on a 500Mbps symmetrical fibre connection. I believe the main limitation is due to the router CPU bottleneck which means I will need to upgrade if I wish to benefit from the full bandwidth of my connection.

    I watched your guide on integrating with a UDMP. I have a full Ubiquity environment here, so I intend to do use your method of dual NICs and probably a PowerShell script to flip between gaming and normal work. In order to combat bufferbloat, I enabled Smart Queues on my UDMP which has helped tremendously. I am normally 1ms or less jitter now. The downside is that I have 2.5Gb fiber, and the UDMP caps out at 1Gb using Smart Queues. How do you feel about leaving Smart Queues enabled while also using Ping Optimizer on the R3? To be honest, I only plan on connecting my Xbox and PC ( While gaming ) to the R3, so I don't need actual congestion control from multiple devices. However, enabling these features seems to really help with bufferbloat/jitter even with a single device using the internet. Do you think it is pointless to also use Ping Optimizer?

      So far it seems like games run better without buffer bloat being controlled via the udmp or R3.
      I finally figured out how to allow the R3 to control all the network traffic including Wi-Fi. The udmp is set up as the main router but basically acting as a glorified switch with added security for the R3.
      I'll go into all the details of that setup in a future video.
      It's definitely a better setup than the way I had it before.
      When it comes to gaming I'm trying to figure out exactly what feels best. Seems like not running any congestion controls on the udmp or R3 has been the best way to go.
      However I'm still trying to mix and match every possible setting before I definitively say what's best.

      It's been flawless for me however I've seen one other person report something similar on the forums.
      When you go to smart boost and you're playing a game does it light up? If so it's working properly just not tracking for some reason?!
      I'd report it along with your ISP & modem.

    Ping King's awesome video as always . I'm wonder when they are planning on releasing the update for the R2. Because there should be nothing holding them back from it being released. After a lot of tinkering etc I find the best results is by knocking 10% off your isp throughput so for example your isp gives you 500 drop it done to 450 and same with upload knock that off 10%. I think this is due to the 3rd party speed test duma use. It’s not up to scratch but is workable. I 4ms upload and 3ms on download. Before I was putting in my isp throughput speeds I was only getting A scores not A+

    • @LowPingKing
      @LowPingKing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Everybody's results are going to be different when doing buffer bloat testing! 10% may work for you and not for others.

    Ping optimizer and speed test straight up aren’t working after upgrading to .23 and factory resetting. Thing is super bugged

    • @LowPingKing
      @LowPingKing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They use an outside test Mlabs & sometimes it goes down.
      Enter your own speeds via any other speed test.
      Average best two of three.
      Then use a website like waveform for buffer bloat testing.
      Be aware currently IPv6 qos is bugged and not working properly.
      Best to shut off IPv6 on WAN & LAN then reboot.
      IPv6 qos was working right before Christmas break so I'm sure they can get it back fairly quick.

      @@LowPingKing I’m really hoping the next firmware irons out the issues I’m having. I can live with the ping optimizer and speed test not working but not getting the same speeds and wifi performance as the XR1000 is a deal breaker for me unfortunately

    • @LowPingKing
      @LowPingKing  ปีที่แล้ว

      @RamboUnchained can you elaborate when you mean same speeds as xr1000. Are you just talking about Wi-Fi?
      I'll be making a Wi-Fi video soon.
      If you're on Android and I'm not sure if iOS has it there's a great app called Wi-Fi man. It'll help you find the best channels for your setup. My speeds on Wi-Fi increased dramatically once I used Wi-Fi man to set the appropriate channels and width.
      Another thing that's causing confusion is smart boost will always try to adjust things for best performance.
      For Wi-Fi testing it's the same as wired. Yet you also have to make sure to set channels and width properly if you want Max speeds.

      The XR routers are NOT getting DumaOS 4!
      In my opinion if you own an XR router it's time to move on. My XR500 is now completely retired.
      Netgear has shown no love for the partnership they have an incredibly small team of only a couple people working on all the XR routers! That's why NetDuma has not been able to push big updates for years.

    For any of you lot that are struggling with steady ping only use steady ping is you already have an unstable connection for example WiFi connection. If you’re LAN connection turn that shit off. I had to email netduma a few times about crazy input delay on LAN connection, steady ping isn’t meant for LAN connection. Just a heads up for those who are screaming at their router 😂

IPV6 also is causing mayhem
