I have been watching several videos of lads participating on this CF moto media launch and is clear to me that the Aussies riders are the most experience ones in terms of off- road skills etc. Pity it was not really a test on on- road conditions as per an adventure motorcycle will demand. Having said that this video is one of my fav since it shows the 450 MT does have certain capabilities for off road, and you perfectly explain its limitations. Over all one always have to understand price/quality/benefits/limitations relation ratio before taking any final decision up to the real type of riding one is desire to perform and its competitors. Nice intro review Damo. It’s certainly got some appeal. Looks alright & sounds alright too. That low price means more moolah for any performance mods you want to make….and that comfort stop sign is now part of adv life folklore 😆
That was bloody hilarious and brilliant at the same time. Test rode one and ordered it for mid July delivery in the UK. it was bit rude about me coming out of the sea looking pasty, it's a medical condition we brits have called bad weather.
Another cracking reveal Damo, and to be honest I have been waiting for this one for a while. Will be interesting to see it go head-to-head with the new 390 Adventure and the new Himalayan 452!! Great work, cerveza para todos!
I must agree with everyone else here, great first impression ride report! Same for the drone pilot skills, good stuff! I already put my deposit down over the xmas to new years period. Having seen and read the RE Himalayan 450 reviews and that sounds like a good choice too. But for me I think the 450MT will suit me better. I have a KTM EXC 350 so the MT doesn't need to be a hard core off road bike. I want to use it for a more of a longer ride, back roads dirt trails explorer.
Thoroughly enjoyed it …good balance of legit rider feedback, revealing camera work and irreverent humor! I wasn’t tempted to fast-forward… Yours is I believe, the only reporting I’ve yet seen, during which the time was invested to alter (and document) the suspension settings applied. Great inclusion. Intriguing choice of terrain selected for what would appear to be a more road-biased bike … Maybe dispelling low expectations of its off-road worthiness was the manufacturer’s intent, though. Good job!
The best "western" review so far, thank you. It's an ADV bike, so multiple enduro references are a bit outside of the scope of this bike. Suspension section, you mentioned that the adjustments (especially dampening) were effective. This indicates quality internal components. I would argue that different springs rates would cost next to nothing to install, so the budget statement is not very valid. I am 75 kg 178 cm rider, you look bit bigger.......Budget, actually junk Suspension was delivered by Honda on my Rally 300. I am getting this bike, and I will get Decent Suspension Tubeless rims Adj screen Adj levers Folding mirrors Folding foot controls Metal skid plate (decent enough for now) Nice and now "proven" engine All for very reasonable price.
Agreed, no-one remotely interested in the bike has any enduro dreams with it. That being said, Damo is the second journalist that has mentioned its limitations off-road, with Clubby from MAD TV claiming the RE450 is more off road focused.
@defylifeadventure The point I was trying to make is more general. Most "big" name channels/journalists bring way too much personal and not a given motorcycle relevant baggage. They start with "competition" or very high-level overall performance as the gold standard. They all love all the gadgets, all the electronics, big power........For adv bike, all these things are negatives in my opinion, reliability is the number one requirement here. There are many physical features that are relevant to the real life performance of a bike. You saw my incomplete list, I know of them because I have been watching lots of other reviews (starting with the Chinese guys). It would have taken 2 min to run down this list, here we got the availability of high and low fender as the big one. The local Philippino guts have some really good vids out, they approach this bike from this real world, average rider perspective.
The enduro references are very much pertinent to the Australian audience. And my point is that it isn’t an enduro bike so as to dispel any misconceptions brought about by the capacity and marketing. I’m not sure which budget statement isn’t valid? I didn’t say springs would cost much.
@@advlife Ok, cool, your enduro point is valid in this light.....But this is an ADV bike, just from looking at it. It is getting complicated these days to identify what is what.......As for the suspension, you stated multiple times "budget". It is fully adjustable, both front and back, and the adjustments were effective. For your weight, riding skill and requirements simply the spring rates are too soft (hope with heavier springs, there will be enough dampening available). It sure seems to me that this is the most complete (and possibly only, lower displacement, reasonable weight, dirt friendly) ready to ride adv bike. Center stand for me, lower crash bars, real (not plastic deflectors) hand guards, soft bags, done. The internet can get to be a crazy place, not starting "trouble" here, giving you feedback and once again Thank You for a very nice review.
Another cracking vid mate. Epic couple of days, even if we didn't manage to see any monkeys! Surprised you didn't mention the heat though. Rather warm.
Haha I live and ride in this heat. Possibly the best video ever… if the testicle cooling system works. I’ll be trying that on my ride today. Great video as usual.
Seen the 800T at a meetup and honestly had no idea it was a ktm engine and packed with features. For under 10k you really get a ton. Having a triumph tiger 850 and am happy with it makes me think maybe trade it in for the 800.
Fun vid to watch. Yes the 450 market is the place to be, for Me at this time in my life, I have already put my deposit down on a Himalayan and wondered if I have made the right choice, especially being a twin. Time will tell. Would still love to give one a test ride this year, who knows what the year's end will bring. Cheers from Brissy. PS: Still keeping my great looking & clean KLX400e for the tough stuff.
"Stay on the right hand side of the road" hahaha. Remind me of the other way around, stay on the left hand side of the road during my stay in OZ back in Sydney Olympics.
Excellent introduction to the new bike. Just one note: You're in a tropical climate, dress in black from top to bottom, and then wonder why you feel like you're on fire. I live in the southeastern USA and know enough not to wear any of my black t-shirts during the summer. It makes a difference!
It would be cool australian delivered bikes came with springs more suited to aussie riders and conditions straight from the factory. Overall it looks like a good value option for what it is. Would be nice if there were demo's available but that's not going to happen for a long while from what I understand.
The weight matters when you drop it and you're hurt and alone in the middle of nowhere, not how it feels when you ride. Anyone can ride a 2000 kilo bike until they drop.
Hello! New subscriber here! I’m beginning to join the ADV community and wanted to get some opinions on good beginner ADV bikes. Majority of off-road is an hour away from me. I’d love to do more off than on! Thanks again and I enjoyed the video!
Hi Damo. I also asked this on another site:.... "great video. Ive seen a couple of reviews say 450 Him is probably more dirt focussed, than 450mt. Without riding back2back, what is this based on ? Is it purely the chunky, nostalic feel of the 450 Him? ..... from what I can see on paper, the 450mt has more power, better suspension adjustment, and less weight ... can you please explain. Thanks" PS. love the humor and whit :)
Cheers mate. I get asked this a bit but have unfortunetly never ridden a Himalayan. I would be genuinely surprised if it's much better offroad than the MT mostly based on what is possible at the price point. But on a basic note, I would prefer to have the adjustable KYB on the MT over non-adjustable Showa on the RE.
With adjustable suspension already part of the bike, how critical is modifying the springs and valving? Would you say this is only necessary for those who want to ride hard? or put a heap of luggage on? Would the stock suspension be acceptable for those who want to ride at only a moderate or slower pace?
Great video. Picked up this bike today. Can you confirm your suspension changes listed in the video. i.e. was each setting an increase or decrease in clicks. Cheers
Excellent review sir. I hope to see more . in the states, Honda has CF Moto. I hope that they come here to California. There seems to be a shortage of the NX 500.
Gear lever wasn't to short and front brake not spongy after off-road experience? One of the best and funniest reviews, grand work Greetings from Poland
Your okay to drive on any side of the Road lol, Filipinos don’t pay attention to any Road regulations, side walks, emergency lanes anything goes here, but remember any accident it’s your fault, you have the money to pay. It’s A Great Country, just keep your eyes on the road all the time, road conditions change unannounced. Be kind and polite and never raise your voice with the Locals, it’s not your culture not your country, leave the attitude at the airport. Thank You for your review.
Excellent review. I felt like I was there on the launch so thanks for telling us a good story. The best review of the bike I have seen so far so great work and for $9k it seems a bargain. Until you decide to sell it secondhand when it won’t be worth much as who wants a secondhand Chinese bike ?
I’ve noticed the front brake squealing on a few of the launch bikes. Why is that? Are the front pads super hard or the are the rotor buttons full of dust? Did you sit on a bike with the higher seat base? I’ve pre-ordered mine with the higher seat but will go down another 20mm on the lower link pivot. Can’t wait for you to try it out on Aussie roads & dirt! Cheers, you’re a funny bloke!
Mate, the fine dust was insane from very early on which would contribute, but better quality brake pads would be an early purchase anyway. Didn't have a higher seat for me to try unfortunately - I would have prefered higher and bench style. Good on you for pre-ordering. It's a genuinly good bike for the price from early impressions.
I absolutely love the outtake from stripes, son of bjtch, shit. I really look forward to the bike. I’ve got the 450 NK in the motor is definitely impressive. Although the only thing I disagree with a little bit is the single front desk break I think you should have the double just like the 800.
@@ShinzouWoSateSateSate I don’t agree a couple of times even in normal highway driving it normal highway speeds when somebody cut you off or cut in front of you when you need to apply the brakes they did not have the power of any of my other bikes, including my 800 pound Harleys . I urge you measure the stopping distance, although still not real bad definitely not as good as most. I’ll be 58 this fall and riding since I was three so I guess I may not know. lol
I have the ktm390 adventure, love it. this is a tempter though. Mibbe have to book a test ride , as there is a dealer near me. Dunno how it would stand up to the wet weather here in Scotland though.

You have a new follower because you are fun, unpretentious and raw.
the lowkey humour makes this video more entertaining
Haha I live and ride in this heat. Possibly the best video ever… if the testicle cooling system works.
I’ll be trying that on my ride today.
Great video as usual.
It 100% works like magic. 👍🏻
Great video - witty and informative. Keep up the good work.
Seen the 800T at a meetup and honestly had no idea it was a ktm engine and packed with features. For under 10k you really get a ton. Having a triumph tiger 850 and am happy with it makes me think maybe trade it in for the 800.
Great review, looked like fun 👍
Fun vid to watch. Yes the 450 market is the place to be, for Me at this time in my life, I have already put my deposit down on a Himalayan and wondered if I have made the right choice, especially being a twin. Time will tell. Would still love to give one a test ride this year, who knows what the year's end will bring. Cheers from Brissy.
PS: Still keeping my great looking & clean KLX400e for the tough stuff.
I subscribed based off of the first 5 minutes of the review lol. Well done sir! Can’t wait to check out more of your channel!
Very cool (hot) overview, well done, good tip for the ice.
Have you ridden a Teneree 700? How do you find it compares?
Looking forward to a more in depth test and a comparison vs. the new Royal Enfield Himalayan!
Good morning from Belgium. And I will sit back and relax with my coffee enjoying your video. Hope those bikes will arrive soon in Europe!
Very interesting bike!Great value for money! When will it be available in stores?
In Australia it will be on dealer's floors in June.
Great review…will deffo be watching the full review when you get the bike in Aus.
It would be cool australian delivered bikes came with springs more suited to aussie riders and conditions straight from the factory. Overall it looks like a good value option for what it is. Would be nice if there were demo's available but that's not going to happen for a long while from what I understand.
Bikes should be available to demo from June. They were caught by surprise by the volume of pre-orders.
The weight matters when you drop it and you're hurt and alone in the middle of nowhere, not how it feels when you ride. Anyone can ride a 2000 kilo bike until they drop.
After seeing the post, I was waiting for the review on this. Let's get into it.
Love the video!... I wonder though how this bike compares to say "Old School" Suzuki DRZ400S... or "New School" KOVE 450 Rally?
With adjustable suspension already part of the bike, how critical is modifying the springs and valving? Would you say this is only necessary for those who want to ride hard? or put a heap of luggage on? Would the stock suspension be acceptable for those who want to ride at only a moderate or slower pace?
It would most likely be fine in that senario. I found it quite decent after I made some simple tweaks.
A bike that forces the manufacturers to pull their finger out and take notice.
And the bike of the year 2024 is...
Like you said, not a review but as I am interested in this bike I’ll be watching for more.
i have a KLE 500 ... would this be a good "upgrade" for it ...
@4:50 that entrance was great !
Great video, and like the funny comments
Love the Aussie humor... good review. Could you please include your height and weight as reference? Cheers
5 ‘11 and 98kgs. 👍🏻
Comfort stop 😂👏
Couldn't stop laughing 🤣🤣. Another great vid btw 👍
Badass bike! I have the cb500x 2019 if I did not have this bike I would have the CF Moto. All cool 🏍️ whatever style fits u. Can't go wrong either way
Your okay to drive on any side of the Road lol, Filipinos don’t pay attention to any Road regulations, side walks, emergency lanes anything goes here, but remember any accident it’s your fault, you have the money to pay. It’s A Great Country, just keep your eyes on the road all the time, road conditions change unannounced. Be kind and polite and never raise your voice with the Locals, it’s not your culture not your country, leave the attitude at the airport. Thank You for your review.
"Realy" sums it up. One hundred percent...!
Your next vid should be this vs t7. It’s on everyone’s mind and would get heaps of views.
Excellent review. I felt like I was there on the launch so thanks for telling us a good story. The best review of the bike I have seen so far so great work and for $9k it seems a bargain. Until you decide to sell it secondhand when it won’t be worth much as who wants a secondhand Chinese bike ?
What about the seat comfort in rode conditions
i am socmuch looking forward to seeing a propper supermoto from Chinease manufacturer!
Awesome video quality.
How good are Alf re-runs. All on YT now too.
Thanks for info dude....Good one mate....🥀🌙🐈
Good and informative video. Just one question : was it hot that day?
Did you notice any vowing or stange whistle from the GearBox?
When you talk about suspension 3 or 4 click are from totally closed or totally open?
From the stock setting, whioch I believe was centered.
Thinking of swapping out my 800mt for one of these as a unicorn. Which would give you more joy to ride?
@@advlife good on you for taking the piss on everything & the heat😂😂🤙
I absolutely love the outtake from stripes, son of bjtch, shit. I really look forward to the bike. I’ve got the 450 NK in the motor is definitely impressive. Although the only thing I disagree with a little bit is the single front desk break I think you should have the double just like the 800.
Gold medal 🥇 to you for getting the Stripes reference! 😃 It still makes me laugh 40 years later 😂
The 450NK is too light to have two disk brakes
@@ShinzouWoSateSateSate
I don’t agree a couple of times even in normal highway driving it normal highway speeds when somebody cut you off or cut in front of you when you need to apply the brakes they did not have the power of any of my other bikes, including my 800 pound Harleys . I urge you measure the stopping distance, although still not real bad definitely not as good as most. I’ll be 58 this fall and riding since I was three so I guess I may not know. lol
@@R.S.Outdoors well, it's not only about the amount of disks

Enlighten me please
Great Video man! Hope you enjoyed the Philippines!
Ur so Good for this bike n ur Good for how to handle😂😂😂 Nice one ...more fun ...
Love your video from Indonesia
I have the ktm390 adventure, love it. this is a tempter though. Mibbe have to book a test ride , as there is a dealer near me. Dunno how it would stand up to the wet weather here in Scotland though.
CF Moto own 49% of KTM so do not worry quality is good
Which one better, cfmoto450 or CRF rally300?
Can you get the higher seat instead of the nirmal seat.....or do you have to pay extra for it?
Higher seat is an extra $200 here in Australia
