Your mom, our Mudra, Is one of the celebrity mom that is so natural she talks anything on cam, whatever it is. No sugar coating, very real. You're so lucky to have her....great mom with great family...More power @DasovichFam...💐💐💐 I like her so much and so everyone....
Me and Mudra are around the same age. Though my parents made it to Cali in 1969 so I was born in the states. It’s really fascinating to see what Charry was doing and thinking of compared to my life. We’re so similar in so many ways it’s awesome. I see Charry and think I could of been exactly like her! Sometime I wish I grew up in the PI instead of the states! Really nice chat with mom! Good job Wil and Charry!👏🏼🇵🇭
Our oldies back then was influenced by American and Spanish who came to our country that's why we're exposed to Western things and we all looked up to Americans and call them "Hey Joe" that's why Pinoys love to speak English. And became ambitious to travel to the US the dream land of everyone
This is awesome. In my case, I was five years old and looking at the sunset and told myself " one day I will be on the other side of sunset". It was weird as at an early age I want to go to America. I traveled the world through reading, immersing myself in the library, a maid at 11 years old and attended school in the afternoon, penpals in elementary and HS(then all my classmates were doing the same) from around the world, got myself a job after HS(I was the only one in my section that unable to attend college coz I missed the entrance exam coz I got no 20 peso for entrance fee. Work for a yr, went back to school as a working student. In college I became interested again in penpal but this time an American guy. Worked in Manila for a year selling books(that was hard work, going house to house in a subdivision). Meet my penpal, married for 30 years and enjoying the life here in the US. Never thought that I can get out of poverty. Of course it is a never ending sending/helping my family. It is crazy as most of them don't see what I see. I guess I have to keep nagging/advice as long as I live. I tell them my struggles and tribulations, yet it just come out on the other ear. At times, I feel like abandoning them, but I just cannot as I feel guilty with the life I enjoy in here. Working in a corporate world is not easy too as you put up with a never ending bs. One day I just unplugged and enjoy my life.
Ugh. Love how ambitious mudra ever since she was young. And i love it even more that she was soo brave to take on that ambition and turn it into reality 🥹🫠
OMG!!! Your mudra story is for me the most interesting story by far!!! I totally can relate with her story as I am an ofw as well. Her story is very inspiring. And I can't wait for the continuation of the story!
My mom is the same way. She’s from the Philippines and she would tell her batch mates that she would marry an American guy. She immigrated to the US with her mom and then met my dad and other guys. But she had the vision. My husband growing up also knew that he wanted to get out of Russia and he fought and scraped his way and here he is! He came on a student visa and eventually a few year later I met him. It’s interesting how immigrants have such drive and determination to make it here to America. It’s all on the spirit!
Thanks Will for this interview with your mother - I give you an A+ for this interview & well prepared questions relevant to the topic but good that you understand the Filipino language - the mother tongue - God bless and more videos to watch 🙂❤️🙏🏼 best regards
Nurse here from the Netherlands. I can relate to your Mudras story about sadness, homesickness, language barrier (from Bisaya+Tagalog+English and yes to Dutch) and discrimination. Its a tough world. It took me years to find my place in this country. Am waiting for part 4🤩, how your mom meets Pudra? Lol
I just realized that reflecting to your own parents life story is very humbling and familiar. Familiar because of the similarities of how you felt too, at a point of your life that you had to step up and find yourself. These reasons why we do certain things differently because of the culture or the experience we had in the past. But someday it would be better because time and traditions change..we improvise out of love.. someday we'll adopt some of this concepts too and help us grow as an individual.. Thank you Will for sharing.. it's a very encouraging topic and I felt that having different views from my parents makes me appreciate our current life together.. it bonds us.
Very nice stories. I found out today that i get to focus more on my exercises and dont get distracted at all while listening to ur podcast than listening to music. I think i will use ur podcast for a while as my go-to exercise companion on the next few days. I used to live in Saudi (2011-2020) as a Flight Attendant/OFW and i can totally relate to ur mom's OFW experiences, though hers was way way more tougher back in Denmark. Without the internet, very few to none english speaking friends, that's very tough! I sometimes do get lonely back then despite having lots of Pinay Mafia friends and having the technology to talk/see my family every day, how much more for her. Your mom is really an admirable, gorgeous woman. 🥰
Just finished this serye in Spotify! I need the next part!!!! I cant wait to know Mudra more! her story is so fascinating for me and her Journey is so inspiring for someone like me having the same dream as her...
Same with me growing up. Both parents were teachers, so mom taught us proper usage and grammar and correct diction when speaking in English. Grew up poor. But parents worked hard enough for us to go to college. Wanted to become a doctor but money was lacking so I thought since I wanna go to US, better to be a nurse. I’ve always known that I would leave the Philippines and seek greener pasteurs. I was focused like your mudra. My mom was like her. I think I’m the same age as your mom or a little younger maybe, but grew up in the same decade- 80’s! Kids should be taught to dream big! And be focused! Loved your mom’s stories!
I think the mentality then still exist at This day and age except education now are accessible than before.. I admire mudra for her seer determination to reach her dreams/goals..
after i watched this vlog i became more motivated to do my best in processing my US dream as a nurse 😍-Nurse here in saudi arabia thank you mudra and godbless
Reminds me of myself when your mom mentioned her scrap book which I still have and treasure up to this day , come to think I will be turning 75 years old this year and I also wrote down my ambition which is to tour around the world which I was able to do the past years so Amazing !
Until now I think the medium of language in School is still English , however, you need to practice well to speak English fluently and confidence to speak with foreigners. But if it is really calls for to speak English , Filipinos can speak (barok way) and can understand.
I can really relate to mudra and until now di ko rin Alam kng panu kami na pag tapos ng aming parents sa pag aaral knowing were six. Basta ang Alam ko lang mag aral kmi ng mabuti. At ngaun binabalik na namin lahat ng sacrifice nila para sa amin.
Mudra reminds me of my mother. She was ambitious from a young age. Out of 5 siblings she was the only one who graduated from college and became an educator. Her siblings married while in college and dropped out to work and support their families.
Yes, movies are really a big influence. Kdramas I think are now dominating and suddenly all people wanna go to korea. I just realized recently the power it holds.
I remember when I was in preschool. I really didn't understand a thing because we were taught in english. Right now, it changed and they use mother tounge based on their hometown.
I can relate to mudra, when I was young I used to tell myself I will ride in an airplane every time an airplane pass by the sky , I will stop playing and wish my dreams will come true, I became a nurse and it became my passport to travel the world , who would have taught a poor girl will be blessed with so many things, I’m. living the American dream
even in Cebu City where i go to school in 90s up until the early 2000s, the medium of language use to teach is english except for the Filipino subject. We're also encouraged to speak english when the teacher steps out of the classroom for faculty meeting to keep us quiet lol but we still managed to be so loud.
Most of us grow up in this kind of environment. My school main language was English from kindergarten to college. I am fortunate to be with this kind of educational system. Now a days, so sad. After I graduated in college, the education system limits the English language and Spanish was totally abolished. Only few institution still maintained it's English and a little Spanish classes. How I wish they will rethink about the education system and get back to the roots. Teaching Spanish and English communication again as a main educational system. #spanish #English #educationmatters #philippinesrethink #Philippines
Thomasites were a group of American teachers sent by the United States government in August 1901. An interesting short fact is that Thomasites get their name from the ship USS Thomas that brought them to the Philippines. We called it Thomasites Education
Omg! Her apple story! Remind me when i was young and i used to live in the province of Mindanao. I remember the first time i saw an apple i was about 4 years old and one of my 2nd cousin was having it and not even sharing it.... and my aunt saw it and she got me the fresh sugar cane.... thats what i had! But i always wanted to try the apple... finally when we get to Manila my grandma was always buying me apples.
Your mum is just like my Filipina wife, she tells me she grew up always wanting to marry a foreigner, her English is excellent and her large family of 8 siblings don't speak it very well some not at all and this includes her cousins and best friends. A lot of Filipina see their Aunties and older family members end up with an American or Australian and they hear the stories of the amazing life they are living and they want it too
Will you have an awesome amazing Mom. God bless always and more more blessings success and happiness in everything you always do. Stay humble strong safe and healthy. I am an avid fan Rose 🌹 from San Diego Ca USA 🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘
Will, ikumusta ako sa mommy mo. Charry kumusta kana dyan. Last time nagkita tayo in 2017 pa yun. Hope you and Steve are doing fine. God bless! Si Carmi 'to. Nandito parin ako sa Santa Rosa, Calif. Hope and pray matapos na itong covid para madalaw at ng makita namin in person yung bagong condo nabili ng mister ko dyan lang sa ermita manila. Keep safe kayo.
I agree those movies gives an inspiration to the people in the province to go out on they're own place...very ambitious..ika nga e nakakasira ng isip ang panunuod ng mga movies KC naging ingitiro mga tao
I have same stories with Charry and we almost the same age. Slumsbook yes where we write our dreams and goals in life in high schools. I always wanted to be a doctor, but due to hardship in life and 6 siblings, I only ended in nursing which also expensive tuition fees. Being a nurse brought me here in Norway before all my classmates from university went to USA and worked as a nurse, coz it's very popular at that time. I can relate really my stories to MUDRA.
Yes mom , I know how it was,, been there ,done that, " Slam book" those were the days📒👌🌹🥰 nursing course ,indeed expensive. That's How came here in the USA .
My grandma only spoke English and Ilocano because they were taught English by the Americans at school during the American period in the Philippines. That was a looooong time ago.
Oh Wil you open up the stories of all Filipinos who migrate or go abroad to realize and reach their dreams and goals. Listening the 3 Spotify Mudra series is a joy. Those who venture in 1972 to fly their wings will relate to ur mum.
1:30-1:35 Yes my grand parents who did gone to school then are fluent in english even they finished lower grade level Coz their teachers then were americans

Yah will we are gud in english much before unlike now some of the student especially in public school they can not even express themselves in english. Yes we watch john wayne movie. I know lots of american actors n actress. I think your mom and I has the same age.I'm 65 yrs old now.
Mudra is a perfect example of “dream big, work hard and live your dream! “👏👏👏

I love how your mom emphasized that "especially" back in the days. My parents would say the exact same thing.
Yes 'cause back then we were colonized by the American Government. We were once called American Jr. 😊
I can relate you Mudra! Love your honesty! And you being so confident and ambitious!
