  • Victor Wembanyama came into the NBA with allot of exceptions and potential. But in this video we're gonna breakdown Victors stats and film from this year, and try to figure out just how good is he right now?

There's was a level of fear I had of how great Wemby can be. We're currently witnessing an NBA Mt. Rushmore talent.

If Wemby makes it to his full potential, it could end all player comparisons. In 2040 you could just say “Wemby better” and it would always be true

@@slavdog3180potentially, if he was that good he would of led the spurs to more wins. We knew he’d be a shot blocking phenom that moved better than any 7 footer before. Still not impressed with his overall impact.

@@frankiethefrog1752 I think the biggest reason everyone is having this opinion and basically crowning him as the next face on the MT. Rushmore... is that he was NOT anywhere near as good at the start of the season as he is now, by enourmous leaps and bounds actually. Couple that with the fact the spurs are quite obviously tanking by having Wemby play out of position at PF and had Jeremy Sochan play at PG for the first 25 games of the season, than switching them back to their normal positions all while Victor was still just trying to figuire out the NBA. The cherry on top of all this is that the spurs are quite literally atrocious when it comes to talent, outside of Devin Vasell most of these guys would be hard pressed to make an NBA team let alone play significant minutes. Basically what im getting at is his impact is enourmous but it can be easy to dismiss it by just saying "they suck and he doesn't impact winning" when in reality that couldn't be further from the truth.

@@frankiethefrog1752 this is how an outsider, a casual if you will, and a hater sees the situation. You are discrediting the bunch of skills the young kid has just because he is not winning enough. That’s the most dumb thought ever! This is his ROOKIE SEASON WITH G-LEAGUE TEAMMATES. Please take a moment to digest thatx
He is no rookie duncan, rookie chet, rookie magic, rookie bird, who all came to an already established team. Wemby is being handed the key to carry an absolute trash team as a rookie. How hard is it to understand that?
Do you still not get the point of his rookie season? Spurs repeatedly said this is a trial season, just watch wemby play and see if he has the skills and mindset to lead the team in the nearest future… not today, not now, in the future!! And boy he did proved to everyone how lethal he is; shooting, defense, competitiveness, and playmaking all in a 7’5” body.
This season is not about winning yet. He’s no ringless 10-year player like embiid. Please stop the winning argument. Use your brain I am begging you.

He’s good enough to make all nba next year and every year after just like Luka, Jordan, Bron, etc. he’s a generational talent who has had the best rookie season probably since MJ. He’s going to be DPoY probably 6-7 times in his career because he’s just that dominant. He’s already a top 25 player and next year he’ll be top 15 and make a second or third team all nba. I would say he has a chance for 1st but the league is so stacked right now with talent it’s insane at the top. Best rookie in 3 decades probably.

I actually commend Spurs and Pop for allowing so many turnovers - let him develop his handle and vision while theres no championship hope. He will inevitably fumble, but grow as well.
As some have mentioned, he really doesn’t have a lot of guards - specifically point guards. They should really look to get a traditional pass first guard to pair with him. He would probably excel even more on offense, not having to carry, doing things he is okay, not great at.

Not good enough to have made the Spurs 1 single game better than last season with a Suppose Championship Coach in Overrated Popovich.
Jordan as a Rookie at 21 to 22 Years old made the 2nd Worst Team the year before 11 games better.
Lebron coming directly out of High School at 18 to 19 made the Worst Team the year before 17 games better.
Wade at 21 to 22 made the 4th Worst Team a year before 17 games better.
Carmelo at 19 to 20 made the Team Tie For Worst Team a year before 27 games better.
Whimpy at 19 to 20 coming from playing Europe Professional Ball didn't make the 2nd Worst Team the year before in the NBA a single game better.
