after watchin you drill the holes in the dash panel, I would like to pass on a tip/trick. You can slip a piece of vacuum hose over the drill leaving only the expossed amount of the drill for the thickness of material your drilling thru. Comes in handy if you are not buying new parts and car is opperational. Would suck to mess up whats in there already. Thanks I learn from your videos.
That dash pad looks a lot better than the red one I received from Ecklers. I had to cut the defroster holes, speaker hole, had to trim the sides and excess around the windshield. There was a bunch of excess behind the instrument cluster area that I had to trim away. The passenger side didn't fit right and split a little bit when I pushed the dash pad on fitting it, on the right side at the base of the pillar trim. Not very noticeable but still. You'd think for what they cost they would put a little more attention to detail into it.
hope u guys get ur 100,000 by christmas, i know the feel of this channel is much warmer than those with way more subs than they deserve, u guys have heart! keep em coming u guys
wing nuts . a chunk of broom stick (wood) with a hole drilled thru the middle or a screwdriver handle with the screwdriver shank pulled out.. a cut off blade in an angle grinder to make a slot across the hole... for the wings of the wing nut... now you have a wing nut driver.. make a second one with a 7/16 hole and a wider slot to do draincocks on radiators..
Ford originally used glue to hold the dash down along the windshield, 3 or 4 inches wide. It's been a while but I took the pad off my parts car. You know the sun visors are different on the padded dash cars also. Reproduction padded visors are readily available though.
I just thought about putting my A-C in back and electric heaters up front and in the center and a electric A-C compressor in back . Found a 1 wire 200 amp alternator too . But what your doing is looking kind of hard . I'm just going to a guy to do the inside of my car . I'm going with black .
Sure hope you're going to paint the dash pad red. Upside - it'll look stock and appropriate. Downside - you won't be able to fry eggs on it like you would if you left it black. BTW - it's selvage or selvedge, either one is correct.
LOL OK on the selv...slev...that word. We are going to paint it. I want to do all the parts at one time. We're waiting for the defroster ducts to show up. We'll cover that in the next couple of months.
I respectfully disagree. That pad from Rhino is top flight. The hinges we put into our 1969 Fairlane recently are excellent as well. So was the full floor for the Ranchero. Are there crap pieces out there? Sure. But there is good stuff too...kinda like the used stuff.

That is AWESOME. Honestly never even thought of doing that.

Yeah, we'll probably leave the visors that the car has. Honestly the padded ones are kinda sucky for size.
Yes to all that, especially the Dakota digital

i think you said you will paint the dash pad red??..i think i would leave it black..it looked good that way and is a good contrast to the red
Do you know how to get the lens off a clock on a 65 galaxie? Thanks !
Nope guess we'll figure it out though!

Wing nuts are factory.
Well.. the wingys are crap. LOL
Do you know what kind of paint I need to used on this dash panel ???
Contact Rhino for his recommendations.
Looking good! Was that a Ford 8n in the background next to the passenger door?
Maybe? Not a Ford tractor guy yet...but the year is young...
Do you know if this method would work on a 62 galaxie I need to replace the pad on it
I feel sure it would. Contact Rhino for the complete skinny.
@@AutoRestoMod thanks man, this channel Is a big help restoring my galaxie. Not much info out there
Lookin good
Does auto crafters make a crash pad for a 65 galaxie ?
Kinda, it is the left side only and is a cover. www.autokrafters.com/p-15833-dash-cover-lh-black-65-galaxie.aspx
Does that factory radio work?
Won't matter we'll drop a Retrosound in there. =)
P.S :
GREAT SHOW !!!
Stupid tedious work is what can slow any project down. Best of luck!
Aftermarket Restoration parts are garbage and a waste of money..... I Keep all my Original parts and clean them repaint them and re-use them.
