because 6 was the lowest common denominator of all the denominators. You want to pick the smallest number that all your denominators divide into. that number was 6

@@brianmclogan I should've added the caveat ... unless the system is bigger than 2 × 2. At that point, I just haul out my calculator and hit the button that says SOLVE SIMEQ. 😁
