I traded my 2011 ZX10R for a used 2015 R 1200 GS because I was not sure I would like the GS. HOLY CRAP! Bike is phenomenal. Did not want to lose too much money on the 1200 so I traded it back in 3 months later for a brand new at the time 2022 R 1250 GS 40th Anniversary. The next summer my buddy who sold his S1000RR for a street glide took my GS for a ride. Welp! He just picked up a 2024 R 1300 GS Trophy also. ABSOLUTELY LOVES THE BIKE! I had many race bikes. I've never enjoyed ridding this much until I got my R 1250 GS. CONGRATULTIONS!!!
That's great to hear! Glad you're enjoying riding the GS! And I couldn't agree more about riding sport bikes compared to how much more fun the GS is! Cheers!
That’s a beautiful dream bike! A lot of people say these bikes are overpriced, but I truly believe you get what you pay for. It’ll last for years and I know people that have easily gotten 100k miles out of their bmw’s. Have fun with it, man!
Thank you!! I agree with your statement. There are many other bikes that are as capable if not better than the GS and cheaper too, but to me there's just something about the GS's build quality and design that's worth the price.
Was looking for a 1250 GS 40th year ann edition, eventually i came to the conclusion that it was too early in my motorcycle career. But apart from that these motors are made to be able to go to 250k km's
Congrats on the new bike; the GS is a great bike. I’ve never owned a GS, but I had a ‘15 R1200R, which of course was a boxer engine, and it needed to warm up to get to operating temperature before the tachometer would adjust to its “normal” rev range. I had the same experience with the quick shifter- it was only smooth when riding hard.
Smart man that’s exactly what I have been saying to everyone reviewing this bike and saying the QS is harsh or clunky. But it’s only when a rider uses BMW transmission without feeling. I do the same if I am just riding slow around town always using the clutch which is nice and light. The transmission is smooth and precise. QS I only use when riding fast and on the gas. Never had a problem with this QS it’s perfect in my mind.
Ya it's all about feeling for certain with the QS on these bikes but it also comes with long term ownership. Oftentimes you can't figure these things out on a 20 minute test ride from the dealership it took me buying the bike and riding her home to figure it out. Thank you for watching my video I appreciate the comment, have a wonderful day.
cool review and story. I have an RR and R18b as my two up bike. love the boxer engine. took a trip to the grand canyon was great. (also from CA) I dont really have too much use for the RR which is why the GS looks so appealing. You make some good points. beautiful bike you have!
That’s an awesome bike, congrats on the purchase. I’ve got a 2024 BMW s1000r and I would love to add your bike someday to my bikes. I think it’d be a fun quick ripper
I would trade in your single R if you're considering a GS. You're going to have such a good time riding the GS the single R will end up collecting dust lol.
@@samuelangel8898 Do you plan on selling/trading your S1k for a 1300gs? If so you won't be disappointed. For the type of riding I do the 1300gs handles just as well as the S1K but you're way more comfortable while riding and have the option to ride off-road as well something I would never dream of doing on the S1K.
Hey great bike, will you take off road? Maybe just graded roads? RR is cooler!! For looks anyway. Though nowhere near as practical… Deffo need to blow nose before recording 😅 Health to enjoy!
So, California? Like it. The GS is known for its great handling, thats the main reason it sells so much. Its also the number One bike if you want to feel like you are going on a trip around the earth, it makes you feel " adventure" like no other bike. This said i wont buy One , because its F expensive and because BMW reliability is a joke.
California as a geographic area is awesome! It's the politics that make it a bad state however politics aside there is no other state in the US that comes close for motorcycle riding year round!

Nice bike.
Pro tip: Blow nose before recording.
My apologies, it was super dusty due to the wind.
And thank you!

Beautiful! I'm waiting for the gs 1300 adventure later this year.

Thank you! And yes! You definitely have to be giving it the beans for the QS to operate smoothly.

@@ohhhcrap You might be right about that! Stay safe brother!
A couple hundred miles and it won't feel like a "beast" at all. Nimble and responsive, and a ton of fun.
I'm already having a blast riding it! Coming from a mainly sport bike background the weight and height is definitely taking me time to get used too.
What year was your S1K? I have a Gs on order but debating trading in my 16’ s1000rr.
It was a 22' m-package with forged cast wheels.
@@ohhhcrap oh wow so I’m definitely going to like the 24’ Gs compared to my dinosaur 🦖. Thanx.

Nice bike but no need to wait more than 15-20 seconds to warm up and sail away
thanks! will do that moving forward.cheers!

Nice bike but California sucks! Hi taxes, and overpopulated with snowflakes. Miss my 1250 adventure. Have a Goldwing now.

BMW makes headache bikes.
All bikes can be headaches! Stay on top of maintenance and a lot of headaches can be reduced!
