As an old school airbrush artist, I've cut many a paper stencil by hand, with a #11 Exacto blade. It's nice to see that the skill isn't lost on you, Slew - very impressive, good hands. Here's another fun technique to wrap your brain around - like Disney animation cells, (which are painted in reverse on the backside of acetate) imagine painting on plexiglas. Trace out your pattern, cut the paper coating of the plexi (to your design) and paint in reverse - light colors to dark. The cool thing is - there's no need to mask the shape you just painted. Your one-eyed dude would look cool painted this way.

These are brilliant man, I was thinking of starting some stencils (not as detailed as these) for duplicates on the same project. They are so good for getting everything nice, clean and accurate.

Use a bit of spray adhesive on the back of your stencils, and wait till its tacky. No underspray. Perfect lines :)
