After the first Cars movie came out I found one of the first Mr and Mrs The King diecast sets at Walmart right after they came out. A couple weeks later I was at the shop and I pulled it out for Richard to sign. Richard asked me where I got it because he had not seen one before. I told him surely he had seen one. He said no, that one he had not signed one yet so he knew he had not seen one, and two Lynda had been on him to get her one because the grandkids wanted one since she was in the movie. I gave Richard mine and before I could say anything he signed it. I told Richard to take it home to Lynda which at first he said no. I insisted he take it and I would find another and mail it down and he could sign it. So Richard took the set and even laughed that he was going to give it to Lynda and he already signed it. After this Richard walked over to a closet in his office and pulled out a crew shirt and signed his name on it and tossed it to me saying that’s for the car. I said works for me and I was excited to have an autographed crew shirt. Few weeks later I found two more Mr and Mrs The King sets and I shipped them down to the shop and I was blown away again when I got them back because they were both signed by Richard and Lynda the true Mr and Mrs The King! Priceless!!!

Really enjoyed this one as a lifelong Petty fan but Ford guy. I know it's an odd combo, but the King's Torino is still his coolest car. lol Pretty cool she actually picked the Ford. Had the pleasure of meeting her when I was younger and was just an incredibly nice and kind lady. Thankful I had the chance to meet her.

Great video. Sharon was so nice to me when I visited the museum. She answered all my silly questions with a smile and great detail. I got my 75th hat in the mail this week. Thanks for the fast shipping. The Petty Museum is a must visit for any level of NASCAR fan. ❤

Mrs The King was wonderful ❤️ One of our 1st trips the museum when it was in town my wife says I just had I just met the nicest woman..... we had only been married a few years and my wife had not yet learned all things Petty. Well as we were leaving she pointed out Lynda! I said omg you were chatting with The Kings wife. Lynda was so genuinely kind and generous, God Bless 🙏💙

This is a beautiful tribute to Ms. Lynda and her role in Cars. And how tremendous is that that station wagon survived for 40 years in Randleman! Some of the literature and materials for Cars gave Ms. Lynda a backstory as a demolition derby driver before she met Mr. The King. Thank you @Petty Family Racing!

Question for the Petty's do you guys tell stories about both cars to visitors and do you ever plan on doing family trips to relive old memories?

I would've thought you had a Chrysler, Dodge, or Plymouth station wagon. A little surprised it's a Ford from his '69 season.

I won the 2017/1970 Superbird tribute car giveaway sponsored by Smithfield foods on 11/18/2017. This magnificent machine arrived on Feb. 13, 2018. Best Valentine’s Day present I ever received.
Thank you Mr. The King, Richard Petty for making such a beautiful machine. It is truly awesome. And like Richard Petty said during one of his promotions during the giveaway and I quote.
“I hope whoever wins this car doesn’t just park it in a garage for 20 years or takes it to the nearest auction. I hope whoever wins this car drives it like they stole it.”
And I basically did steal it. I was the only contestant who entered the giveaway without buying a Smithfield pork product to enter.. So when it says. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY! Believe it. I didn’t buy a dam thing. And I drive it every chance I get. I put hand controls in the car a couple days after it arrived. I was paralyzed from the upper chest down 32 years ago. I love this Superbird tribute car. It’s a piece of true Richard Petty history. I love telling my story at car shows. I’ve wanted one ever since I watched Richard Petty and Pete Hamilton race the 1970 Superbird’s in the 1970 Daytona 500 when I was 7 years old and followed The Kings career as much as I could until he retired in 1992. The year I was paralyzed in a car accident.
    Long Live The King
    Thank you once again
Thank you again Mr. The King.
