Potential rivalry aside, I have a feeling Percy and Aang would both actually get along pretty well. I could see them bonding over their water abilities and how neither of them wanted to be the roles they were given; Aang with being the Avatar, Percy with being a demigod, and all that. I also think they'd gush about having 2 mythical flying animals that are basically their animal spirits/counterparts (Appa and BlackJack). Idk, I just think it'd be neat if they were friends. *Also does anybody else find it interesting on how both protagonists from 2 of the best stories in kid/teen fiction got the absolute WORST live-action adaptations in cinema history?*
Important to note that Percy is fire resistant. He was only harmed by lava fresh from the oven, which is far more hotter than flames, like ridiculously so. Percy can heal and be boosted by aangs water bending, could possibly even control the water since he is the son of the sea god after all.

Aang is not really fond of using fire anyway. Controlling the water it's only possible for Percy if the source is the sea, isn't it? I am pretty sure that's why people complain about the Percy from the 2010's movies being able to control any water source. But even if that's not the case or they are at open sea, Aang is still a strong waterbender so i think they would cancel each other out on that aspect. In the end, that still leaves two elements Aang can use against Percy that I don't think he has any real way to counter.
@@johndoublea9016 no offense but you might need to catch up on PJO before making a point. Percy is not limited to controlling the sea, not at all! In TTC he lifts an entire creek. In CoG, he control an underground spring that another minor god was controlling (meaning Percy would likely be able to take over the water). Aang using water bending doesn’t change the fact that water heals Percy and boosts his power and physical stats so yeah… Percy’s wind power is nothing to scoff at either. He can summon hurricanes, and if you look at those wind speeds, that’s pretty damn impressive. Obviously he wouldn’t beat Aang with wind but my point is to not underestimate him. The only other trouble Aang would give is earthbending, but that is a debate for another day.
I think Percy actually can blood bend or at least bend the water in people's bodies. From what I remember reading in "The House of Hades" He and Annabeth come across some old lady goddess who's name I can't remember. I don't remember too much but she must've messed around with 2 of them enough to get Percy angry and use his powers to suffocate her Vader style. It even made Annabeth scared of him, but she eventually made him let go of the lady because he listens to Annabeth.
I know this comment is like a year old, but yeah. The scene is specifically against a primoridal godess (like from before zeus) and daughter of nyx, the godess of misery and poison Akhlys. And percy, when he got super angry at her, started choking her out with her own poison. Stating "He didn't want to stop. He wanted to choke this goddess. He wanted to watch her drown in her own poison. He wanted to see just how much "misery" Misery could take."
I've read Percy Jackson so many times that I keep forgetting that it's not an animated series nor (yet) a live adaptation. The images of PJO are so vivid in my mind that it jars me when I see fan art and think about how youtubers don't use official PJO art... as they literally can't 😂
I have to disagree with you here bossman. We are comparing them at their strongest, which would mean you would have to use an adult Avatar Aang from the comics as that is his strongest state that is cannon to the main storyline. Adult Aang would wipe Percy with little difficultly, a lot of the advantages you said Percy would have would be offset by this version of Aang.
I have yet to read the comics so I couldn't include anything from them. Besides, I wanted to keep them as close to the same age as possible. If I used an adult version of Aang, doesn't that mean I would need to use an adult Percy?

I think Percy takes speed, in one of the pjo books (I can’t remember which one) he dodged bullets and said they seemed “slow” to him… SLOW Like dang boy how fast are your reflexes

I was going to assume aang would win but I forgot about the Achilles curse. I still think it could be a victory for either, as using the past avatars aang could lavabend, bloodbend, and essentially become invulnerable(air shield). Not to mention they probably cancel each others water powers, and likely percy would overpower aang's water, aang still has three other elements and hundreds of past lives to help him. The battle could go either way, just proving how powerful these characters are.
I give speed to Percy seeing as how in Titans Curse he deflected bullets and in The Last Olympian he was able to run from one end of Manhattan to the other overnight.

As a fan of both series Aang definitely takes this one, Percy created a hurricane, Kyoshi split an island, Percy survived a volcano explosion, Avatars can make multiple volcanoes erupt at will, Percy has never dodged Thalia or Jason’s lightning, Aang redirected Ozai’s, Percy has trained for half a dozen years, Aang gets thousands of years of experience in the avatar state. Percy is more durable, but that’s his only advantage. Even the curse of Achilles could potentially be taken away by energy bending since it involves “purifiying light”.
Never really made sense how Percy controlled liquids I always felt his power dynamic would be closer in nature to that of aqua-man not a ATLAB bending type power

Dude, as much as I love Percy, but Kratos essentially murders Percy, the Greek gods in god of war are much stronger than the ones in the riordanverse, plus in god of war 3, kratos beats and kills Poseidon without much effort.

But in this case yea Percy wouldn't stand a chance, Kratos wipes the floor with him AND Aang easily, even if both were in their strongest form/state, both would get destroyed.
(I will preface this by saying I don't know a ton about Avatar.) Now I've put some thought into this, and considering that Aang's main advantages are his elemental bending abilities (since in physical stats like durability and strength Percy out classes him) we could compare each one to Percy and if he could or could not counter them. Starting with the most obvious one we have water bending, I think its obvious that at the very best this would knock Percy around and heal/buff him, considering Percy has inherited divine authority over water and is significantly amped by it as well, conclusion being that in this area Percy would wipe the floor. Earth bending, while having potential, it seems unlikely that this would do much, as Percy also some authority over earth, but as I said I believe it would have potential to counter Percy although I think its unlikely. Fire bending is just about as bad as water bending due to Percy's shown heat resistance (he literally had fresh lava dumped on him and survived easily before he went through literal hell and drank fire.) and the fact he could just counter it with his own water. Air bending in my opinion would be Aang's best bet against Percy as he doesn't have a specific counter for it, (assuming we don't go to deep into storm bringer territory) and its the bending that Aang is probably most familiar with. Thanks for listening to me ramble about this, due note that I am biased and that has inevitably affected this. Also in terms of speed feats Percy blocks a bullet with his sword at about age 13 in a series where the characters get more powerful as they age and Percy has increased his speed overtime especially with the Curse of Achilles and him being 18 now.
Honestly it's kind of based off whether Aang is bloodlusted or not bc air benders have been shown to have the the power to take away someones air and suffocate them or just straight up collapsing the air around someone, the authors counteracted this by making airbenders pacifists and hating to kill people, percy is super strong but he still needs air to survive.
Aang with his airbending/maybe earth bending was able to create an explosion in the show with half the force of the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. Let that sink in. That is 14,330,047 pounds of TNT being exploded at once. And he survives this blast.

Aang could do the zaheer thing and suck the air out of percys lungs, or he could bury him in tons of earth with no access of air. And he does that while in the avatar state with everything around him just like when he faced ozai for defense percy wont even be able to get close to aang to inflict damage
We never see him do that technique so you cannot assume he can do it. Or else I could say that Percy could pull the water out of Aang's brain and instantly kill him, doesn't that sound stupid.

I saw you said you wanted to keep them roughly the same age. By the end of the show, aang is either 13 or almost 13, so you would need to compare him to book 3 or 4 percy at best. If you want to compare them at their strongest, comics aang shows teen and adult aang who is strong enough to level cities at will, while Percy made mt saint helens explode sure, the feat nearly killed him and took 2 weeks to recover on calypso's island.
I don't think keeping them the same age is fair. If you compare Aang at the end of A:TLAB (13) to Percy at the end of his book series (17), then that's unfair for Aang. But if you compare Adult Aang (18+?) who can level cities to Percy at the end of Blood of Olympus (17) then that's not fair to Percy. Percy's only feat when he was 12-13 is stuff that only happens in the first 2 books like besting the literal God of War in single combat and killing various mythological creatures. This is why Death Battle takes both characters at their strongest with all of buffs and powerups so you can't complain about 1 side getting underrepresented.
@mellow3995 percy was 16 at the end of the percy jackson and the olympians books. The final battle against cronos when luke took his own life was Percy's 16th birthday. Book 3 happens in the winter between Percy's 2nd and 3rd summer at camp. So to keep them the same age, at the end of atla, aang was either 13 or almost 13 (they never show him celebrating his 13th birthday so its unclear if he turned 13) comparing them then makes it unfair to percy because aang is almost if not completely a fully realized avatar, while percy is strong at this point he's no match to aang. Keeping them at their absolute strongest with all possible buffs is probably the way to go, but that makes percy basically a god, nearly invincible with the curse of achilles and channeling an egyptian god
Aang can dodge lightning , Zuko can and so csn Kitara so Aang gets speed . As for durability , Aang was caught off guard by Azula and grew stronger after that . Now debunking Percy's durability : he would've died fighting Hyperion if it wasn't for the Mark of Achilles , a Weaker version of Hyperion too , he needed the help of all seven demigods working together to take on the Anti Hephaestus , who wasn't even at full strength and he doesn't physically scale to amy God , Titan or Giant at his base + deflectiong is using your opponents momentum against them , not outright stopping it.

Aang has human level durability, there is no contesting this. Ok, but the problem with your argument is that Gods, Titans, and Giants all scale to mountain level at the very least and continental to planetary when it comes to the stronger gods, something Aang has never come close to. The very fact that Percy is able to tank blows from them at all puts his durability far, far above Aangs. Percy was able to tank a direct hit from Porphyrion, a Giant capable of lifting mountains. Jason, someone Percy scales to, was able to tank hits from Enceladus, a Giant able to shake an entire mountian easily just by hitting his spear against the ground. Percy was also able to outright stop Ephialtes's strikes, not deflect but completely block, and Ephialtes is a Giant capable of lifting mountains. I think you get the gist. So as you can see, Percy completely outstrips Aang in every way when it comes to physical prowess.
Why is this even a debate though 🤣. Aang sweeps even without the Avatar state. The only reason Percy would have a chance is because Aang would mainly play defensively due to his nature, his aversion to fighting and hurting others. We don't even need to fully discuss that Avatar state.
@@josephreeves4044 If we take them at their strongest, which would be by versions, not a mishmash of every power they ever had, then the toughest versions of both would be River Styx Percy versus Adult Aang. This fight would come down to if Percy could put down Aang before he's forced into the Avatar State. If he can't than it would be pretty much wraps due to the fact that Percy would immediately get overwhelmed to the point where his weak point (the small of his back) would definitely be getting hit. Aang knows plenty of attacks that can attack the whole body such as dousing them in flames or air blasts. Avatar State would simply end the battle should Aang be unable to actually put Percy down.

Be aware that Percy had also been able to deflect bullets in the Titan’s Curse from feeling the waves of vibration in the air as he described it. No he couldn’t see them, but it seems implied that he can sense things moving that fast. If Air is in fact the fastest moving of the bending elements, and the problem most other Benders would have in fighting an Air Bender is that literally can’t see it, then is Percy able to detect it? I’m of two minds with this one.
You can detect the air moving but you cant dodge literally all the air in a room rushing at you at 100s of mph. Its simply not in Percy's skill set. Also percy has no recourse against lava bending, something we saw Avatar Roku do, meaning Aang can also do it.
I don’t think energy bending can do anything to percy tho? In avatar world, people were gifted bending by ancient lion turtle while in Percy Jackson, demigods was born with power of their parent’s domain, not gifted.
In base state Aang gets speed because Percy’s reflexes aren’t that much higher than a normal persons while aang has air bending to augment his speed. There was that one time Percy deflected a bullet so it’s definitely close, but I’d say Percy has reflexes but aang has agility and overall speed advantage

Percy is at a massive advantage, the avatar verse doesn’t come close to scaling against the riordan verse. Absolutely nothing has been shown to even be mountain + in avatar. Percy no difs the fight taking not damage. At 14 he was able to survive a volcanic eruption that launched him into the upper stratosphere of the earth. Nothing in avatar is doing anything to him.

Funny enough, i think most of the Seven would have a better chance of defeating Aang than Percy does. Especially Nico himself, simply because his powers are something Aang is not used to deal with, i mean bending the elements is one thing. But what about when Nico starts summoning hellhounds, skeletons warriors and teleporting around with shadows?
From what in online vs debates it’s the Avatar that’s overhyped..I’ve seen fans claim that Aang can take beings like Captain Planet, Storm, Crystal, Raider etc. . Aang is a big fish in a small pond and no he won’t be stomping Percy as easily as you think.
In terms of speed they’re both relatively equal, and are around the range of lighting timers. Percy because he’s equal to Jason Grace who can block lightning bolts, and Aang who has reacted to and reflected Lightning shot by the Fire Lord, so I think the latter has the advantage when it comes to agility

Causing earthquakes and literally lifting enormous pieces of stone into the air and then chucking them are not even. Not even mentioning lava bending, which no amount of water would stop.
The only thing I would argue is didn´t Aang almost die from a lightning strike (from Zuko´s sister, Azula)?. Not to mention he was in the avatar state, while Percy has survived various powerful lightning strikes from Thalia and Jason. And not to mention Aang lost very easily in battles, he even almost lost the fire Lord Ozi, while Percy has battled so many diverse monsters, titans, giants and even gods (which honestly and god is more powerful than Aang).
@@fernandap2664 I'd have to argue that Percy has a bit too much of plot armour, even though I love both sides so much, I feel like ATLA has more mature writing and aang's hardships are diverse, but Percy is written in circular way, same things happens to him but with different enemies. So, Yes Percy defeated even tartarus, but I feel like the writing in those were a bit lazy:( But overall, Percy gets tired easily compared to aang, aang can summon all elements for hours without feeling drained and he has more creativity over the elements, Percy will be too tired to go on after a while.

You probably won’t respond and I’m fine with that but please do because I need to tell you a few things . Technically Aang would clap Percy because it’s be stated there’s maybe 180 Avatars and the first avatar came to be 10,000 years ago meaning in the Avatar State Aang has the knowledge and the power of 180 Avatars technically 181 including himself. I you read the comics in the Shadow of Kyshoi she is a Past Avatar and the 2nd most powerful one so he has all of her power at his command. That’s 10,000 years of knowledge and experience and also speed and agility goes to him. So IQ is given to Aang so your wrong on that one too. Technically his waterbending would be far more Advanced because that’s 10,000 Years of Knowledge If you seen Kyshoi waterbending feats Roku’s Waterbending feats Kuruks or Yangchen he has all of that power to himself. So in terms of raw power that definitely goes to him self . In the Avatar State with that much power I bet you he could hold the Sky so I say strength goes to him. If you would read the comics you would no Kyshoi could actually freeze 🥶 Blood and you if would watch the Legend of Korra or read the comics about Kyshoi or Yangchen or Kuruk or Roku you know how good there waterbending feats are so think about this . Imagine 150 + more Avatars being able to be Waterbending Masters not just water bending they also have awesome earthbending feats have heard of Kyshoi Islands and how she split the land with air and earthbending . For people who say percy can dodge and tank lighting in the og avatar lighting has always been shown as fatal vs percy jackson which isn't so the lighting percy tanks could be weaker
I mean that’s theoretical theoretical, not just a fan thing like this video. All we know is that percy CAN tank and dodge lightning. I feel like it’s more unlikely that lightning has different strengths in different universes. I mean with your logic, Aang might not be super fast since “different universes have different wind speed” (that’s just a hypothetical). For these kind of videos to work, it’s essential we find common variables to contrast them to find an end result. Aangs airbending can’t do much against water other than speed increased and his earth bending could be Countered by water and “earthquakes”
I have to disagree with Percy winning this fight. One, in a desert, Aang is far more powerful than Percy. While the only thing Percy has is a little bit of Earth control. Two, even near the ocean, Aang could still use the other 3 elements at a master level. And three, Aang has the Avatar State. Percy doesn't have anything even close to that.
Aang wins speed. He’s reactive to lightning and I can’t think of a instance where Percy does something like that. He gets struck by lightning from Thalia once but he was off guard. However I don’t think anyone in the series dodges lightning I think it always hits if I’m not mistaken. So speed is in Aangs favor I believe.

No one gets out of the way of Jason or Thalia using a lightning strike. The closest thing we have is when Ephialtes blocks one from Jason, but he didn't try to out right dodge the attack. Aang dodges lightning MULTIPLE times against Ozai. You can check on the official avatar YT channel's video of it at 3:48. They are extremely close in speed, but Aang still has better feats.

I feel like Percy´s powers couldn´t be taken away so easily, as it is part of his blood and DNA. Llike if it was just the ability to manipulate water than maybe yeah. But he can breath under water, his brain is also hardwired differently and he is telepathic with water/horse creatures. I feel like it´s not so "spiritual", it´s part of every single cell in his body and mind.
That’s even more speculation! That Percy’s powers runs the same way as blood bending. Cuz blood-bending isn’t something that can take away any powers in the universe, it has to do stuff to the chi pathways, something that we don’t even know if percy has. Besides, aang would need to get close.
This was a great video, but Percy would win in a matter of seconds if you take him at the end of series 2. He's consistently dodged and blocked lightning bolts, which makes him way, way faster than Aang. Add on Achilles's curse, making him near invulnerable, him surviving being shot out of a volcano plus the feats of him carrying the sky for a few minutes and overpowering giants who throw mountains, he should take this without much difficulty.
Holding up the sky doesn't count , yiu have to have the heart of a hero to do that and if yiu wanna count tjat then Golden Sword , Geryon , Kampe , Tyson who are physically stronger than Percy ( except Golden Sword , hes just a better swordsman) could do the same , which just doesn't make any sense . He also never defeated a God in a fight by himself , EVER 💀 he always had help and these Gods are all handicapped and weaker than they were at their Prime .
I would argue that Aang control over the other elements give him an advantage over Percy. What is Percy supposed to do when Aang starts throwing fireballs, pillars of stone and air blasts at him? And Percy's situation becomes even worse depending on the battlefield, because if they are fighting somewhere without a water source, what will be Petcy do? What if Aang decides to create a vacuum around Percy's head and suffocate him?

In battle of the labyrinth it was revealed that Percy had an extreme tolerance to heat, firebending wouldn't effect him, and water doesn't seem to do much to him either since he could jump into water from any height and not feel anything. So that cancels out two of Aangs elements. Aang is amazing but Percy has fought gods.

I disagree with Iq, Aaang became an Airbender master at the age of 12, making him the youngest Airbender master in literally thousands of years. I also think that Aang's control over water is better than Percy's. I would also say that Percy at his strongest isn't when he had the curse of Achilles, but a lot after that, because if we're taking that Percy then most if not all of the other feats you mentioned are pretty useless since Percy hadn't done any of that when he did have the curse of Achilles. Also the only reason that Percy deflected and survived an attack from the lord of time, is because he had the curse of Achilles, and either way that same hit pretty much knocked him out cold from the battle and Annabeth had to knock some sense into Luke, for Luke to steal control, and for Percy to just GIVE him the knife, and even then he could barely do it. I do think he takes durability, but I personally wouldn't count any durability feat when he had the curse of Achilles, because without it, he wouldn't have survived. Also, all the forms and powers you gave Percy, are things that he's literally only done once, or that he can't do again. He has only controlled something that isn't water once, if I remember correctly, the forms that you mentioned, he doesn't have anymore, and doesn't have access to them otherwise, meanwhile Aang does have access to the Avatar state at any given moment. AND if we were taking prime into consideration, then we would have to take Percy at the host of the goddess, against an adult Aang, which wouldn't count because now he has more experience, he's stronger, he's more skilled, and it would just be a pretty one-sided battle from Aang's side. Potential rivalry aside, I have a feeling Percy and Aang would both actually get along pretty well. I could see them bonding over their water abilities and how neither of them wanted to be the roles they were given; Aang with being the Avatar, Percy with being a demigod, and all that. I also think they'd gush about having 2 mythical flying animals that are basically their animal spirits/counterparts (Appa and BlackJack). Idk, I just think it'd be neat if they were friends.

Important to note that Percy is fire resistant. He was only harmed by lava fresh from the oven, which is far more hotter than flames, like ridiculously so.
Percy can heal and be boosted by aangs water bending, could possibly even control the water since he is the son of the sea god after all.
He can be harmed by swords and knifes and Sang can make ice versions of that .

Aang is not really fond of using fire anyway. Controlling the water it's only possible for Percy if the source is the sea, isn't it? I am pretty sure that's why people complain about the Percy from the 2010's movies being able to control any water source. But even if that's not the case or they are at open sea, Aang is still a strong waterbender so i think they would cancel each other out on that aspect. In the end, that still leaves two elements Aang can use against Percy that I don't think he has any real way to counter.
@@johndoublea9016 no offense but you might need to catch up on PJO before making a point. Percy is not limited to controlling the sea, not at all! In TTC he lifts an entire creek. In CoG, he control an underground spring that another minor god was controlling (meaning Percy would likely be able to take over the water).
Aang using water bending doesn’t change the fact that water heals Percy and boosts his power and physical stats so yeah…
Percy’s wind power is nothing to scoff at either. He can summon hurricanes, and if you look at those wind speeds, that’s pretty damn impressive. Obviously he wouldn’t beat Aang with wind but my point is to not underestimate him.
The only other trouble Aang would give is earthbending, but that is a debate for another day.
I think Percy actually can blood bend or at least bend the water in people's bodies. From what I remember reading in "The House of Hades" He and Annabeth come across some old lady goddess who's name I can't remember. I don't remember too much but she must've messed around with 2 of them enough to get Percy angry and use his powers to suffocate her Vader style. It even made Annabeth scared of him, but she eventually made him let go of the lady because he listens to Annabeth.
I know this comment is like a year old, but yeah. The scene is specifically against a primoridal godess (like from before zeus) and daughter of nyx, the godess of misery and poison Akhlys. And percy, when he got super angry at her, started choking her out with her own poison. Stating "He didn't want to stop. He wanted to choke this goddess. He wanted to watch her drown in her own poison. He wanted to see just how much "misery" Misery could take."
I've read Percy Jackson so many times that I keep forgetting that it's not an animated series nor (yet) a live adaptation. The images of PJO are so vivid in my mind that it jars me when I see fan art and think about how youtubers don't use official PJO art... as they literally can't 😂
I have to disagree with you here bossman. We are comparing them at their strongest, which would mean you would have to use an adult Avatar Aang from the comics as that is his strongest state that is cannon to the main storyline. Adult Aang would wipe Percy with little difficultly, a lot of the advantages you said Percy would have would be offset by this version of Aang.
I have yet to read the comics so I couldn't include anything from them. Besides, I wanted to keep them as close to the same age as possible. If I used an adult version of Aang, doesn't that mean I would need to use an adult Percy?

I was going to assume aang would win but I forgot about the Achilles curse. I still think it could be a victory for either, as using the past avatars aang could lavabend, bloodbend, and essentially become invulnerable(air shield). Not to mention they probably cancel each others water powers, and likely percy would overpower aang's water, aang still has three other elements and hundreds of past lives to help him. The battle could go either way, just proving how powerful these characters are.
I give speed to Percy seeing as how in Titans Curse he deflected bullets and in The Last Olympian he was able to run from one end of Manhattan to the other overnight.

As a fan of both series Aang definitely takes this one,
Percy created a hurricane, Kyoshi split an island, Percy survived a volcano explosion, Avatars can make multiple volcanoes erupt at will, Percy has never dodged Thalia or Jason’s lightning, Aang redirected Ozai’s, Percy has trained for half a dozen years, Aang gets thousands of years of experience in the avatar state.
Percy is more durable, but that’s his only advantage. Even the curse of Achilles could potentially be taken away by energy bending since it involves “purifiying light”.

But in this case yea Percy wouldn't stand a chance, Kratos wipes the floor with him AND Aang easily, even if both were in their strongest form/state, both would get destroyed.
(I will preface this by saying I don't know a ton about Avatar.) Now I've put some thought into this, and considering that Aang's main advantages are his elemental bending abilities (since in physical stats like durability and strength Percy out classes him) we could compare each one to Percy and if he could or could not counter them. Starting with the most obvious one we have water bending, I think its obvious that at the very best this would knock Percy around and heal/buff him, considering Percy has inherited divine authority over water and is significantly amped by it as well, conclusion being that in this area Percy would wipe the floor. Earth bending, while having potential, it seems unlikely that this would do much, as Percy also some authority over earth, but as I said I believe it would have potential to counter Percy although I think its unlikely. Fire bending is just about as bad as water bending due to Percy's shown heat resistance (he literally had fresh lava dumped on him and survived easily before he went through literal hell and drank fire.) and the fact he could just counter it with his own water. Air bending in my opinion would be Aang's best bet against Percy as he doesn't have a specific counter for it, (assuming we don't go to deep into storm bringer territory) and its the bending that Aang is probably most familiar with. Thanks for listening to me ramble about this, due note that I am biased and that has inevitably affected this. Also in terms of speed feats Percy blocks a bullet with his sword at about age 13 in a series where the characters get more powerful as they age and Percy has increased his speed overtime especially with the Curse of Achilles and him being 18 now.
Honestly it's kind of based off whether Aang is bloodlusted or not bc air benders have been shown to have the the power to take away someones air and suffocate them or just straight up collapsing the air around someone, the authors counteracted this by making airbenders pacifists and hating to kill people, percy is super strong but he still needs air to survive.
Aang with his airbending/maybe earth bending was able to create an explosion in the show with half the force of the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. Let that sink in. That is 14,330,047 pounds of TNT being exploded at once. And he survives this blast.
Percy for sure because he’s blatantly superhuman in stats while Aang is peak human. He’s faced much worse foes than Aang.

I saw you said you wanted to keep them roughly the same age. By the end of the show, aang is either 13 or almost 13, so you would need to compare him to book 3 or 4 percy at best. If you want to compare them at their strongest, comics aang shows teen and adult aang who is strong enough to level cities at will, while Percy made mt saint helens explode sure, the feat nearly killed him and took 2 weeks to recover on calypso's island.
I don't think keeping them the same age is fair. If you compare Aang at the end of A:TLAB (13) to Percy at the end of his book series (17), then that's unfair for Aang. But if you compare Adult Aang (18+?) who can level cities to Percy at the end of Blood of Olympus (17) then that's not fair to Percy. Percy's only feat when he was 12-13 is stuff that only happens in the first 2 books like besting the literal God of War in single combat and killing various mythological creatures. This is why Death Battle takes both characters at their strongest with all of buffs and powerups so you can't complain about 1 side getting underrepresented.
@mellow3995 percy was 16 at the end of the percy jackson and the olympians books. The final battle against cronos when luke took his own life was Percy's 16th birthday. Book 3 happens in the winter between Percy's 2nd and 3rd summer at camp. So to keep them the same age, at the end of atla, aang was either 13 or almost 13 (they never show him celebrating his 13th birthday so its unclear if he turned 13) comparing them then makes it unfair to percy because aang is almost if not completely a fully realized avatar, while percy is strong at this point he's no match to aang. Keeping them at their absolute strongest with all possible buffs is probably the way to go, but that makes percy basically a god, nearly invincible with the curse of achilles and channeling an egyptian god

Now debunking Percy's durability : he would've died fighting Hyperion if it wasn't for the Mark of Achilles , a Weaker version of Hyperion too , he needed the help of all seven demigods working together to take on the Anti Hephaestus , who wasn't even at full strength and he doesn't physically scale to amy God , Titan or Giant at his base + deflectiong is using your opponents momentum against them , not outright stopping it.

Ok, but the problem with your argument is that Gods, Titans, and Giants all scale to mountain level at the very least and continental to planetary when it comes to the stronger gods, something Aang has never come close to. The very fact that Percy is able to tank blows from them at all puts his durability far, far above Aangs. Percy was able to tank a direct hit from Porphyrion, a Giant capable of lifting mountains. Jason, someone Percy scales to, was able to tank hits from Enceladus, a Giant able to shake an entire mountian easily just by hitting his spear against the ground. Percy was also able to outright stop Ephialtes's strikes, not deflect but completely block, and Ephialtes is a Giant capable of lifting mountains. I think you get the gist.
So as you can see, Percy completely outstrips Aang in every way when it comes to physical prowess.

Why is this even a debate though 🤣. Aang sweeps even without the Avatar state. The only reason Percy would have a chance is because Aang would mainly play defensively due to his nature, his aversion to fighting and hurting others. We don't even need to fully discuss that Avatar state.

This fight would come down to if Percy could put down Aang before he's forced into the Avatar State. If he can't than it would be pretty much wraps due to the fact that Percy would immediately get overwhelmed to the point where his weak point (the small of his back) would definitely be getting hit. Aang knows plenty of attacks that can attack the whole body such as dousing them in flames or air blasts. Avatar State would simply end the battle should Aang be unable to actually put Percy down.

Be aware that Percy had also been able to deflect bullets in the Titan’s Curse from feeling the waves of vibration in the air as he described it. No he couldn’t see them, but it seems implied that he can sense things moving that fast. If Air is in fact the fastest moving of the bending elements, and the problem most other Benders would have in fighting an Air Bender is that literally can’t see it, then is Percy able to detect it? I’m of two minds with this one.
You can detect the air moving but you cant dodge literally all the air in a room rushing at you at 100s of mph. Its simply not in Percy's skill set. Also percy has no recourse against lava bending, something we saw Avatar Roku do, meaning Aang can also do it.

In base state Aang gets speed because Percy’s reflexes aren’t that much higher than a normal persons while aang has air bending to augment his speed. There was that one time Percy deflected a bullet so it’s definitely close, but I’d say Percy has reflexes but aang has agility and overall speed advantage
Uh, I’m pretty sure Percy blocks a couple bullets with his sword in the titan’s curse. His reflexes are far above a regular human’s.

The only thing I would argue is didn´t Aang almost die from a lightning strike (from Zuko´s sister, Azula)?. And not to mention Aang lost very easily in battles, he even almost lost the fire Lord Ozi, while Percy has battled so many diverse monsters, titans, giants and even gods (which honestly and god is more powerful than Aang).

So, Yes Percy defeated even tartarus, but I feel like the writing in those were a bit lazy:( But overall, Percy gets tired easily compared to aang, aang can summon all elements for hours without feeling drained and he has more creativity over the elements, Percy will be too tired to go on after a while.

I have to disagree with Percy winning this fight. One, in a desert, Aang is far more powerful than Percy. While the only thing Percy has is a little bit of Earth control. Two, even near the ocean, Aang could still use the other 3 elements at a master level. And three, Aang has the Avatar State. Percy doesn't have anything even close to that.
Aang wins speed. He’s reactive to lightning and I can’t think of a instance where Percy does something like that. He gets struck by lightning from Thalia once but he was off guard. However I don’t think anyone in the series dodges lightning I think it always hits if I’m not mistaken. So speed is in Aangs favor I believe.

No one gets out of the way of Jason or Thalia using a lightning strike. The closest thing we have is when Ephialtes blocks one from Jason, but he didn't try to out right dodge the attack. Aang dodges lightning MULTIPLE times against Ozai. You can check on the official avatar YT channel's video of it at 3:48. They are extremely close in speed, but Aang still has better feats.

I feel like Percy´s powers couldn´t be taken away so easily, as it is part of his blood and DNA. Llike if it was just the ability to manipulate water than maybe yeah. But he can breath under water, his brain is also hardwired differently and he is telepathic with water/horse creatures. I feel like it´s not so "spiritual", it´s part of every single cell in his body and mind.
That’s even more speculation! That Percy’s powers runs the same way as blood bending. Cuz blood-bending isn’t something that can take away any powers in the universe, it has to do stuff to the chi pathways, something that we don’t even know if percy has. Besides, aang would need to get close.

This was a great video, but Percy would win in a matter of seconds if you take him at the end of series 2. He's consistently dodged and blocked lightning bolts, which makes him way, way faster than Aang. Add on Achilles's curse, making him near invulnerable, him surviving being shot out of a volcano plus the feats of him carrying the sky for a few minutes and overpowering giants who throw mountains, he should take this without much difficulty.

In battle of the labyrinth it was revealed that Percy had an extreme tolerance to heat, firebending wouldn't effect him, and water doesn't seem to do much to him either since he could jump into water from any height and not feel anything. So that cancels out two of Aangs elements. Aang is amazing but Percy has fought gods.

I disagree with Iq, Aaang became an Airbender master at the age of 12, making him the youngest Airbender master in literally thousands of years. I also think that Aang's control over water is better than Percy's. I would also say that Percy at his strongest isn't when he had the curse of Achilles, but a lot after that, because if we're taking that Percy then most if not all of the other feats you mentioned are pretty useless since Percy hadn't done any of that when he did have the curse of Achilles. Also the only reason that Percy deflected and survived an attack from the lord of time, is because he had the curse of Achilles, and either way that same hit pretty much knocked him out cold from the battle and Annabeth had to knock some sense into Luke, for Luke to steal control, and for Percy to just GIVE him the knife, and even then he could barely do it. I do think he takes durability, but I personally wouldn't count any durability feat when he had the curse of Achilles, because without it, he wouldn't have survived. Also, all the forms and powers you gave Percy, are things that he's literally only done once, or that he can't do again. He has only controlled something that isn't water once, if I remember correctly, the forms that you mentioned, he doesn't have anymore, and doesn't have access to them otherwise, meanwhile Aang does have access to the Avatar state at any given moment. AND if we were taking prime into consideration, then we would have to take Percy at the host of the goddess, against an adult Aang, which wouldn't count because now he has more experience, he's stronger, he's more skilled, and it would just be a pretty one-sided battle from Aang's side.
