"The Tower of Nero" has probably my favorite Epilogue in the entire series. Seeing Apollo simply not being able to fit in with the other Gods after spending so much time as a human and having learned about empathy and the value of life is fascinating
Agree, honestly just following the sequence where Meg and Apollo go face down the foe from the very first book, Nero, and his threat to do something that the historical figure is know fir(starting the Great Fire of Rome) felt poetic. I also very much remember when Nero’s immortality was traded in the most funny way possible. But, even after he was defeated, the fight with Python, and missing his first shot was a great depiction of the entire series. A joking, but serious task
I threw "The Mark of Athena" on the wall when I finished 😂 I picked it up praying it wasn't ruined, and thank God it wasn't but it took me almost ten minutes to process that ending, get up, get my book, put it on the shelf and calm down 😂
That ending was genuinely so saddening for me. I really thought they’d all succeeded, so when Percy and Annabeth got taken into Tartarus like that I was so upset, especially as I literally shouted out loud with joy and was so impressed at how Annabeth tricked Arachne. That’s certainly my favourite Annabeth moment. I’m bloody glad I didn’t have to wait a year for the next part. I’ve read them all for the first time this year so I was able to continue right away. That would have been a hell of an annoying wait when it first came out though!
The Lost Hero is one of my favourite books in Percy Jackson and I think it is because really felt like I connected with Piper, Leo and Jason and I loved the mystery of who Jason was and Percy missing
I love Titan’s Curse. It truly started Percy Jackson for me. Zoe’s transformation from being skeptical of Percy to saying she was honored he held Riptide is definitely one of my favorite moments in the book.
100% agree with you on The House of Hades, I loved the parts of Percy and Annabeth in Tartarus. Whenever it would go aways for them I would just keep reading till it went back❤
Curse Of The Labyrinth is by far my favorite Percy Jackson book;has been for years. It encapsulates everything Percy Jackson is to me and I still actively read it today. Fantastic book.
it always make me so sad how people don't like The Lost Hero because Percy is not in it. I went into the book thinking it was another whole series apart from PJO, i never expected Percy or anyone from that world to be in it and i think that's why i liked it so much more than most people. Also i love Jason's character and doesn't deserve the hate he gets 😭😭
It was actually my intro to PJO, so it didn't bother me either. On the contrary, it was actually quite great because i could fully embrace the new cahracters and after it, i read all of PJO and then the rest of HOO, loving all of the characters equally.
I just didn't like the dynamic between Piper, Jason and Leo. each of them was individually interesting, but the 3 of them as a trio really didn't fit. Thats why it got way better in Mark of Athena because Piper and Annabeth have a nice dynamic, Jason and Percy have a great dynamic, and Leo and Frank have one of the best dynamics ever.
My other favorite reviewer of the Percy Jackson books made the point that unlike other young adult couples in YA books, when Percy and Annabeth fall into Tartarus, rather than fight with each other, they immediately say; "Ok, we are going to get through this, together." She also pointed out how Percy struggled the most with his anger in the House of Hades, (See where he uses his water powers to manipulate poison in somebody). As I was writing this, I just realized how Rick Riorden can turn a dramatic scary situation into something completely bizarre and it totally works. (See Annabeth saying, 'lets get a picture of you with your favorite child'.
I’m glad that in the TOA that Piper and Jason break up. I thought they work way better as friends than as lovers. I wished I got to see more of their friendship though. Jason’s sacrifice is so heartbreaking. I loved his character. I loved how he got glasses, and him being Thalia’s brother. His and Leo’s friendship was so good as well!
Although I don't agree with all of your rankings, I enjoyed the reasoning behind them and am glad you're still making new percy jackson stuff. Always a good day when you post thanks for the great videos!
2:35 trust me, I read the LH BEFORE any of the main series (it was the first I found in the library), and I loved it. It's just the shock of it not having Percy
Can someone tell me what they did in the versions in other languages? Here in Germany we were lucky enough that Dam is "Damm" and "damn" is "verDAMMt" but it can't be like that in French or Spanish or Italian, right?
While it hurts to hear The Lost Hero as low as it is it makes sense. The Lost Hero was actually my introduction to Riordan's book series, as I had only heard of Percy Jackson but never read the books until after I finished the Heroes of Olympus and I read all of the Heroes of Olympus books except for the Son of Neptune as the library I got them from always had it out of stock. I did manage to read PJO and rereading HoO all in chronological order 6 years ago and I loved it so while I get it's low spot it's my first book so maybe it holds a greater meaning to me I guess.
Yeah, Titan’s Curse and Battle of the Labyrinth were the first Riordan books I’ve read. I was introduced to the films but those books are what got me into this series. It might’ve a messy way to be introduced but that’s fine by me.
Thank you, Morgan. Thank you for making Rick Riordan content. I’ve read the books when I was younger…admittedly because of the movies (I had bad tastes but it introduced me to the series). I’ve read almost all the books Riordan has made for this world and I’m glad for it. It’s nice to see another TH-camr online talking about this series. Please do more Riordan content.
I almost completely agree with your rankings. The only main differences are that I have no nostalgia for The Lightning Thief, so I would rank it much lower. And I had an easier time adjusting to not having Percy in a book and can say The Lost Hero does the classic adventure formula better than practically every other book in the series. Every single encounter is interesting and well paced, with a fun antagonist.
I actually did stop reading Rick Riordan after the 2nd TOA, I hated it, and making me stop was a real challenge cause I was obsessed with Heroes of Olympus (the House of Hades is also my favourite of his by a considerable margin because of the Percy/Annabeth stuff too), I do put quite a considerable gap between all the original 5 and HOO that you don't have though.
@@misatomafuyu I for sure would have picked it up again if I didn't hear about Jason dying, kinda demotivated me personally, if they wanted to kill him they should have done it at the end of HOO impo
@@limitlesscord7319 I was anxious the entire time I was reading BM because of that, I had to step away from the book and do a couple laps around my house, but I would definitely say that the 2nd half of the TOA series was stronger since we actually saw Apollo starting to change into a better person.
In the olympians series it’s titans curse #1. For Heros mark of Athena is #1. For trials of Apollo, it’s probably the tower of Nero. The Shakespeare arrows sacrifice was so sad. Also will you be doing a review on the trials of Apollo, chalice of the gods and the sun and the star?
My ranking is from worst to best (Only from the Lightning Thief to Blood of Olympus, reread 3 times) 11. The Blood of Olympus (Honestly, weakest. I absolutely love it, don't get me wrong, but still, I think the ending is a bit weak for me) 10. The Lost Hero (Again, I absolutely love it, but just wasn't as good as the other ones) 9. The Sea of Monsters (A fun book but definetly the weakest in PJO) 8. The Chalice of the Gods (Just a fun adventure book too, nothing really special. Still love the return to the sort of light feeling, and the same vibes that HOO lacks sometimes) 7. The Lightning Thief (A good start but other ones are better) 6. The Son of Neptune (VERY good, I absolutely love it, but still, again, better options out there) 5. The Battle of the Labyrinth (I love this book, Percabeth moments are absolutely neat, and the Labyrinth def is one of the best plots in the series) 4. The House of Hades (Tartarus plotline is the strongest plot point in the Heroes of Olympus. However, doesn't beat the Mark of Athena for me) 3. The Mark of Athena (Annabeth is 100% my favorite character, and seeing her POV for the first time makes this book pretty high for me. I absolutely love MoA) 2. The Last Olympian (Perfect way to end PJO, I loved the climax and just in general, I just love this book) 1. The Titan's Curse (By far the best book in the series. I could write a whole essay on why I love this book. The plot is just THAT good!!!)
I’m reading the blood of Olympus rn, and I keep remembering when I read the lightning thief. I never knew it would be one of my favorite series of all time.
Could you make video breaking down the contents of every prophecy in all of the Riordan verse, foreshadowing of lines and the eventual conclusions. I think it would be very compelling
What I personally love most about Son of Neptune is that it really put in perspective how powerful Percy had become throughout the books. The way you see other people talk about him is so interesting (Like Nico saying he was dangerous to his enemies or Hazel comparing him to a god). And I remember reading a line that was something like "The other cohorts laughed, like 'Oh look, another loser for the fifth cohort'" and then when they mentioned the war games I was like "Oh, he's gonna show them SO bad" and I was right, scenes like that are personally sooooooooooooo satisfying to read. Also the Nico cameo came as such a surprise but I really loved it!
Dudeee Frank’s transformation in the house of hades has got to be one of the best character moments in the entire series. That solidified him as one of my favorite characters
Sup Morgan, no disrespect to you or anyone but I’m not a Percy Jackson fan but I will still watch this because you my bro and I support everything you do. Sending my love from San Jo California 🤙
The Son of Neptune has to be my favorite, seeing the already established goat, secure his position of power in a different camp in one book instead of 5 is fantastic. Its jam packed with just straight up dubs, like the Frank vs Alcyoneus fight, etc. It also was a great book to demonstrate Percy's matured power, he was at his peak of power in this book. Finally, the mystery of Hazel's backstory was peak.
Can you do a life of Nico Di Angelo video ? He has one of the most interesting character arcs in the whole series ! I would love to see a video about him
11:18 Honestly thou, I love the fact that in every PJO book there would be a 20-50% chance of getting a happy ending and even if you did it would mostly be either a fakeout or a “it’s the end… or is it?” type of ending.
It is really interesting for me personally. My brother read Percy Jackson A LONG TIME AGO and I tried it as well but stopped about 4 chapters into the first book because I simply couldn't adjust to the writing style. But then we got the Series recently and the good part about that was that the writing-style of the book no longer mattered (as well as the fact that he wrote the Screenplay with way more experience than the early books) and I honestly enjoyed the series and surprisingly the dialogues in particular a lot. That prompted me to start the series again as AudioBooks and I did enjoy some parts of the first book, though I still personally prefer the series (again, I did get used to the writing-style a bit but it really isn't my favorite). I found the series improved A LOT with the third book personally and then again quite a bit with book 4. But then something special happened. HE CHANGED HIS WRITING-STYLE for the next series. That coupled with the scale of Heroes of Olympus made every single book of Heroes of Olympus for me personally better than any other book that came before it. This series also introduced a lot of my favorite characters but also made older characters a lot more special for me than they were before (believe it or not in the book-series itself, I was not that connected to Percy to be honest but he got way more interesting for me with every Heroes of Olympus book). After that, unfortunately the writing-style changed again but back more to a Percy Jackson Style of writing only with a character I could connect with even less (a selfish god) and I know that is his character arc but honestly I couldn't get into it that well. It got a bit better with book 2 but in book 3 the other big problem of this being a bit too over-the-top came into play as well (I know Heroes of Olympus is also over-the-top a lot but I think because we slowly get introduced to that part of the story with your heroes growing into that challenge it felt a bit more coherent to me). I right now took a break from Apollo after book 3 (a bit forced because the Person I heard the AudioBooks from is still working on the last two). I did however skip to "Sun and Star" because there was already the AudioBook out for that and because Nico is one of my personal favorites (and I wanted to learn more about Will) and I was so happy that it went back to more of a Heroes Of Olympus writing-style What is so interesting is that these are basically 3 series that are all VERY different in how much I enjoy them. I can't rank them all RIGHT NOW in order but more generally: 1. Mark of Athena, House of Hades, Blood of Olympus 2. The Lost Hero, The Son of Neptune, The Sun and The Star --- as already stated there is quite a gab here for me --- 3. Battle of the Labyrinth, The Last Olympian 4. Titan's Curse 5. The Lightning Thief The other once are somewhere below that I think but I can't rank them well anymore. When it comes to favorite characters I personally have: 1. Nico, Leo, 2. Hazel, Frank, Percy, Annabeth, Will (though I need to hear more about him still) 3. Reyna, Piper, Jason (yep, also here very much Heroes of Olympus focused) So as final thoughts as I said before I think a big reason why the "Percy Jackson" saga (first 5 books) aren't as high as for others is because of the writing-style that didn't work for me and I honestly can't say if the story and characters would work better enough for me that it and Heroes of Olympus could be on equal ground with a different writing-style but that is basically what the Series is for so I guess/hope we will see (I hope they actually get 5 seasons because that is a serious long production-cycle). I however find it personally sad that we will probably not get a series for Heroes of Olympus. For one because I don't think they are going to continue after 5 seasons but also because I actually don't think this would work as well in Live-Action. I personally really want to see an animated series based on Heroes of Olympus with a more distinct art-style as I think the more over-the-top style of that story would work well with animation (maybe a blend of western and eastern animation like we see a lot right now, for example in series for with Arcane) First of all this comment is LONG (sorry) but I really wanted to explain myself here. I also know this is probably not the most popular opinion but I thought it would be interesting to some people how I (somebody only hearing the books after the series) would think about it.
I think overall my ranking would be very similar. Just a few swaps from neighboring ranks. But I mostly agree with the ranking done here. Glad to have *almost finished the entire series, your videos on Percy Jackson made me finally pick up the series and as you said I didn't look back. They are really fantastic books!
House of hades was always my fav book in the riordanverse. I even did a project for it in school. It was so eventful and you got the point of views from Tartarus and above the surface which I loved. At the end when they are all there just watching the stars and Percy and Annabeth think of bob, it always makes me a little sad, even though he’s a titan and comes back
I've just read the PHO series and HOO series. I'm going ahead. But uptil now, I absolutely love The Son Of Neptune. I think that the final battle when Percy, Hazel and Frank return and get into the battle is done great and one if the best battles if not the best.
1. The Tower of Nero (The ending was just- but ToA itself is my fav series, it has all my favs- Nico, Apollo, WIll, Leo and Chiron) 2. The Titan's Curse 3. Chalice Of The Gods
12:41 same, i loved this book honestly(read it like a week ago for the first time, already knew i was gonna like it more then the blood of Olympus, i was right annoyingly enough)
The second I finished reading the house of hades, I knew this was my favorite book. I was going to get SO mad if he didn’t put it number 1! The second a Tartarus section ended, I would be dying to know what happens next, and the same thing for the outside world. It is in my top 3 favorite books of all time if not my favorite.
Any book that has a Percy POV in it is one of the best lol 😂 The House of Hades and Mark of Athena are two of my favorite books...they're just perfection

Honestly I love that you have Titan's Curse this high. I think it's criminally underrated. My ranking would be: 1. Last Olympian 2. House of Hades 3. Titan's Curse 4. Mark of Athena 5. Tyrant's Tomb 6. Burning Maze 7. Blood of Olympus 8. Lost Hero 9. Tower of Nero 10. Battle of the Labyrinth 11. Chalice of the Gods 12. Sea of Monsters 13. Son of Neptune 14. Hidden Oracle 15. Morgan have you read DOTD by Rick Riordan ( full name is Daughter of the deep) It’s his first not mythology based book and it’s pretty good Also you should read Aru Shah by Roshani Chowkshi, her first book even has Rick Riordan Compliment her
Me who's favorite is The Dark Prophecy 💀 For me, it's the book that still has you guessing on what Apollo is and is not lying about, so it's one of those books that makes you think. It also introduced us to a whole new cast of characters, and provided a refuge to not only Apollo & Meg, but also a long-term one for Leo and Calypso to help them figure out their lives. Additionally, it's the book with my favorite villain >:) Caligula is a boss, and Nero is a beast (haha, pun intended), but Commodus is the one with a deep, emotional connection with Apollo, and by god did Rick sell me on their romance with just two flashbacks and what? Seven interactions? Every scene he's in is just amazing, from his casual carelessness to his abrupt, angry temper - and absolutely when the rage, pain, and heartbreak he's been (unhealthily) holding onto for thousands of years comes into the spotlight. "You'll always have my blessings" was a shot to the heart, okay? Especially when Commodus threw those words back into Apollo's face. RIP, Alder has died. Also Meg!!! And Lityerses!!! Apollo gave both of them a second chance!!! He forgave Meg in a heartbeat because he knew her betrayal of him was in no way her fault, and he offered Lit another chance even after he tried to kill him and Calypso! Apollo's whole deal is putting up a front, and he talks to us and says shit like "i'm a terrible person. believe i am a terrible person only doing this good thing because i am feeling Humanity. i would not do this as a god." that's all a blatant lie! Cross-examine his actions with what he tells us and he's not doing this "because he's now human". He's doing it because it's right. I feel like a driving factor on how people see Apollo is how they see the ToA series. Some see it as Apollo learning humanity, and conclude that gods don't have humanity. It's not. It's about Apollo accepting the humanity within him, and letting go of the toxic influence of his father to grow and change into the god he needs to be. Because you don't need to be human to be human. TDP is a big factor in that. Trophonius, Agamethes, Emmie & Jo, Georgie, Lityerses, and Thalia all play a role in that, and especially Commodus. Most of all, it's Meg. It's Meg who helps Apollo come to terms with his own abuse, and it all starts in TDP. “Or I could tell you a story about a similar thing that once happened to me." - Apollo to Meg, after the zoo quest i love the sunflower sibings
Here is my list 1. House of Hades 2. Titans Curse 3.Tower of Nero 4. Sun and the Star (might be biased cause I love Nico and Will) 5.Mark of Athena 6. Hidden Oracle 7. Blood of Olympus 8. Battle of the Labyrinth 9. Lost Hero 10. The Last Olympian 11. Tyrants Tomb 12. Chalice of the Gods 13. Lighting Thief 14. Burning Maze 15. Dark Prophecy 16. Sea of Monsters 17. Son of Neptune That took forever but was so fun to make tell me if you agree
Agree with alot but not with house of Hades because I felt betrayed with this book, I'm stumbled across an image from pintrest of Leo the closing the door (which I assumed was the door of death )and the other characters tearing up which I thought was going to be the actual ending , seeing that I expected that will see some kind of epic battle between the 7 and monsters in Tartarus the next book will follow the story with Gaea emergence and demi gods saving Leo from Tartarus and putting an end to Gaea.Maybe I just enjoy this book as much is because I had way high expectations.
When I started reading hero’s of Olympus (after the original series ofc) I was living with a pretty much bipolar emotionally abusive man that my mom was dating, it was a very hard time because sometimes he was great but other times he was a cold person. Anyway when I read the hero’s of Olympus books it was like I could escape, so the those books will always have a very special place in my heart. It took me about 1 month to read everyone and it was one of the best months of my life, staying up until 10 at night with my cat sleeping next to me reading those books. On a side note besides very few instances he did a good job ranking them
I only read the first 5 books before life ended up getting in the way. The Titan's Curse took so long for me to read because i kept losing the book. Sometimes for days at a time. It got to the point that if any of my teachers saw the book, they'd immediately have it brought to me and it became a running joke among me, my friends and teachers that the book would outright vanish. There would be times i never took it out of my bag during a part of the day, yet it vanished and would end up in one of the classes i had. I swear that book was legitimately cursed. I never had this problem with any of the other 4 books. Just that one. I read through Sea of Monsters without issues, and once I finished the Titan's Curse and got to the Battle of the Labyrinth, i didn't lose the books again. Anytime i had the Titan's Curse in my possession, i read as much as possible in order to finish it so i would stop losing it
House of Hades... It took Percy 5 years, a trip to Tartarus, stopping at a shrine of Hermes and Annabeth asking for a pen to find out that yes, Riptide does function as a pen. What does that tell you about Percy?
What prevents me from placing "The Last Olympian" as one of my favorites is that the conflict with the children of Ares was very forced and only existed so that Silena could "redeem herself" in the final battle after continuing to leak information even after her boyfriend was blown up. Clarisse had shown before that she will always put the good of the camp above pride or credit, so her refusing to help bordered on character assassination.
I agree the Ares conflict was a forced but saying it bordered on character assassination is a bit far. It does suit Clarisse's personality in terms of being quite arrogant, with her pride getting in the way of good sense
Completely agree. The Titans curse is my favorite, the House of Hades is the best book Rick has ever written, and The Last Olympian is one of the best nonfiction climax’s of all time. Every time I reread them it feels like I’m reading them for the first time.
My ranking 1 The battle of Labyrinth 2 The last Olympian 3 The Titans curse 4 Tower of Nero 5 Mark of Athena 6 The burning maze 7 The house hades 8 The son of neptune 9 The hidden Oracle 10 Tyrants tomb 11 the dark prophecy 12 Sea of monsters 13 the blood of Olympus 14 The lighting thief 15. The lost hero
Great list, my ranking was a little different keep in mind I still think every one of these books is incredible: 17: Tyrants Tomb 16: Dark Prophecy 15: Sea of Monsters 14: Sun and the Star 13: Hidden Oracle 12: Blood of Olympus 11: Tower of Nero 10: Son of Neptune 9: Chalice of the Gods 8: Lost Hero 7: Burning Maze 6: Titans Curse 5: Mark of Athena 4: Battle of the Labyrinth 3: Last Olympian 2: Lightning Thief 1: House of Hades Reasons for weird picks Tyrants Tomb: Hate what he did with Frank Sun and the Star: Too much of a romance novel but still incredible book Lost Hero: Didn’t expect to see Percy after reading the title Titans Curse: Between 5 and 6 but I just prefer Mark of Athena Lightning Thief/Last Olympian: Can’t beat “Look, I didn’t want to be a half-blood…”
Honestly, ranking the bottom half would be sooo difficult for me. I have clear favourites, like The Last Olympian and The House of Hades. But it’s really difficult to pick between the rest because putting things at the bottom, doesn’t mean they’re bad, because everything is just so good.
I loved reading the Percy Jackson series and the House of Olympus series. For some reason, the fourth book always resonates with me. The Battle of the Labyrinth would be in my top 5 though. I haven't gotten to the Trails of Apolo yet. Is the Trails of Apolo after House of Olympus or is it the Kane Chronicles?
I would like to see a theory video, like you did for some of the hunger games theorys. I would like see your opinions on some of percy jackson theories. Or like a ship ranking Canon or non Canon, also would like too see your opinion on Canon and noncanon ships.
Spoiler ahead: In the final battle in HOO. Where all the Gods come down. I wanted to see Percy's POV. I think because we've been with Percy the longest and I would have loved to see him and Poseidon fight together
"The Tower of Nero" has probably my favorite Epilogue in the entire series.
Seeing Apollo simply not being able to fit in with the other Gods after spending so much time as a human and having learned about empathy and the value of life is fascinating
The fight with python… that was chaos, literally, but I loved it

That’s certainly my favourite Annabeth moment.
I’m bloody glad I didn’t have to wait a year for the next part. I’ve read them all for the first time this year so I was able to continue right away.
That would have been a hell of an annoying wait when it first came out though!

I went into the book thinking it was another whole series apart from PJO, i never expected Percy or anyone from that world to be in it and i think that's why i liked it so much more than most people. Also i love Jason's character and doesn't deserve the hate he gets 😭😭
That's not why I disliked it. I found Jason and Piper annoying. I respect your opinion but for me it was really boring
100% agree! TLH is definitely a top 10 book, it was hard to get used to but man did it pay off
It was actually my intro to PJO, so it didn't bother me either.
We also went into it thinking Percy wouldn’t be in it, so loved it then got the fun surprise that Percy was in the rest.

Who is the other reviewer?
@@jayrubin01 CassJayTuck. Pretty sure her TH-cam channel is still up. she made videos about 10 or so years ago doing a lot of book and movie reviews.

@@corywalker8551 thanks!
Do you plan on doing any other videos about the Percy Jackson books?
Would love to see more
I'm surprised the Lost Hero is that low, the book especially the parts at Camp Half Blood are some of the chapters I have personally reread the most.
Early! The quality is literally getting better each vid! Keep it up Morgan!!
Wait, there are graphic novels of the books?!?! Well, I know what I'll be doing this week!
Yes, they're up to the Mark of Athena so far, but the House of Hades is done, and should be releasing in late September.
Ahh the titans curse, the origin of the dam joke.
dam it!
@@benjaminbrookes-staddon7228 well Dam
We got of dam dam back
Can someone tell me what they did in the versions in other languages? Here in Germany we were lucky enough that Dam is "Damm" and "damn" is "verDAMMt" but it can't be like that in French or Spanish or Italian, right?
Dam dude!
Guess i'm not sleeping for another 14 minutes 11 seconds
I have been waiting for this vid! Thanks Morgan!
Edit: House of Hades is (in my opinion) the GOAT
Agreed
Out of all the Camp Half-Blood Series The Titans Cruse is my all time favorite Percy Jackson book!
They made me read them a 3rd/4th time and as I was older (11) it made me love them more!
I finished the TOA series, but I felt the same way. Each book just made me hate it more.
You should considering picking it back up because The Burning Maze is genuinely one of my favorite Riordan books
This was me! But I picked up Burning Maze maybe a few months later? And it was actually really good. I read books 3-5 in about a span of 4 days max.
I didn't even read the lost hero until i ended the heros of Olympus series and I still understanded everything. This tells a lot
I swear The Burning Maze gives me PTSD
In the olympians series it’s titans curse #1. For Heros mark of Athena is #1. For trials of Apollo, it’s probably the tower of Nero. The Shakespeare arrows sacrifice was so sad. Also will you be doing a review on the trials of Apollo, chalice of the gods and the sun and the star?
My favorite book is The last olympian, it is just magical to me, it was the first I read when I was eleven, after that I bought all the others
My ranking is from worst to best (Only from the Lightning Thief to Blood of Olympus, reread 3 times)
11. The Blood of Olympus (Honestly, weakest. I absolutely love it, don't get me wrong, but still, I think the ending is a bit weak for me)
10. The Lost Hero (Again, I absolutely love it, but just wasn't as good as the other ones)
9. The Sea of Monsters (A fun book but definetly the weakest in PJO)
8. The Chalice of the Gods (Just a fun adventure book too, nothing really special. Still love the return to the sort of light feeling, and the same vibes that HOO lacks sometimes)
7. The Lightning Thief (A good start but other ones are better)
6. The Son of Neptune (VERY good, I absolutely love it, but still, again, better options out there)
5. The Battle of the Labyrinth (I love this book, Percabeth moments are absolutely neat, and the Labyrinth def is one of the best plots in the series)
4. The House of Hades (Tartarus plotline is the strongest plot point in the Heroes of Olympus. However, doesn't beat the Mark of Athena for me)
3. The Mark of Athena (Annabeth is 100% my favorite character, and seeing her POV for the first time makes this book pretty high for me. I absolutely love MoA)
2. The Last Olympian (Perfect way to end PJO, I loved the climax and just in general, I just love this book)
1. The Titan's Curse (By far the best book in the series. I could write a whole essay on why I love this book. The plot is just THAT good!!!)
Titan's curse is amazing
I’m reading the blood of Olympus rn, and I keep remembering when I read the lightning thief. I never knew it would be one of my favorite series of all time.
Could you make video breaking down the contents of every prophecy in all of the Riordan verse, foreshadowing of lines and the eventual conclusions. I think it would be very compelling
0:09 lol even when he’s making a PJ video, he just can’t help but dress like Harry Potter😂
Any book that shows off how powerful everyone is or their wholesome and cute dynamics are always the best ones.
Loves the video, would LOVE to see more videos like this for some of the other franchises you talk about!
Been watching your videos for so long! Love your work
Dudeee Frank’s transformation in the house of hades has got to be one of the best character moments in the entire series.
I would love to see a video about him
And Bianca
Love the lighting and background of this video
I don’t care what anyone says, Mark of Athena is the best book in the PJO universe, and you can’t change my mind.
My friend thinks the same😂
That's my second favorite I'm a fan of the house of Hades just a bit more
11:18 Honestly thou, I love the fact that in every PJO book there would be a 20-50% chance of getting a happy ending and even if you did it would mostly be either a fakeout or a “it’s the end… or is it?” type of ending.
I did however skip to "Sun and Star" because there was already the AudioBook out for that and because Nico is one of my personal favorites (and I wanted to learn more about Will) and I was so happy that it went back to more of a Heroes Of Olympus writing-style
What is so interesting is that these are basically 3 series that are all VERY different in how much I enjoy them. I can't rank them all RIGHT NOW in order but more generally:
1. Mark of Athena, House of Hades, Blood of Olympus
2. The Lost Hero, The Son of Neptune, The Sun and The Star
--- as already stated there is quite a gab here for me ---
3. Battle of the Labyrinth, The Last Olympian
4. Titan's Curse
5. The Lightning Thief
The other once are somewhere below that I think but I can't rank them well anymore.
When it comes to favorite characters I personally have:
1. Nico, Leo,
2. Hazel, Frank, Percy, Annabeth, Will (though I need to hear more about him still)
3. Reyna, Piper, Jason
(yep, also here very much Heroes of Olympus focused)
So as final thoughts as I said before I think a big reason why the "Percy Jackson" saga (first 5 books) aren't as high as for others is because of the writing-style that didn't work for me and I honestly can't say if the story and characters would work better enough for me that it and Heroes of Olympus could be on equal ground with a different writing-style but that is basically what the Series is for so I guess/hope we will see (I hope they actually get 5 seasons because that is a serious long production-cycle).
I however find it personally sad that we will probably not get a series for Heroes of Olympus. For one because I don't think they are going to continue after 5 seasons but also because I actually don't think this would work as well in Live-Action. I personally really want to see an animated series based on Heroes of Olympus with a more distinct art-style as I think the more over-the-top style of that story would work well with animation (maybe a blend of western and eastern animation like we see a lot right now, for example in series for with Arcane)
First of all this comment is LONG (sorry) but I really wanted to explain myself here.
Putting TLH 16 is crazy
Finally a new percy jackson vid can you do more pls?
As soon as i started the lost hero i immediately thought "Is percy talking about this jason dude? "
YESSSSS I LOVEEEEEEEEEEE PJO!!! TYSM FOR DOING THIS!!!
Great video keep it up you're doing amazing things 😁👍
House of hades was always my fav book in the riordanverse. I even did a project for it in school. It was so eventful and you got the point of views from Tartarus and above the surface which I loved. At the end when they are all there just watching the stars and Percy and Annabeth think of bob, it always makes me a little sad, even though he’s a titan and comes back
The lost hero is so real, I skipped it and went straight to the son of Neptune cause I refused to read without Percy for awhile
I've just read the PHO series and HOO series. I'm going ahead.
But uptil now, I absolutely love The Son Of Neptune. I think that the final battle when Percy, Hazel and Frank return and get into the battle is done great and one if the best battles if not the best.
As someone with The last Olympian as the favourite of the original series and House of Hades as the fav of the HoO series, this makes me happy
1. The Tower of Nero (The ending was just- but ToA itself is my fav series, it has all my favs- Nico, Apollo, WIll, Leo and Chiron)
2. The Titan's Curse
3. Chalice Of The Gods
As a passionate Jackson fan I would say this is a big W list
12:41 same, i loved this book honestly(read it like a week ago for the first time, already knew i was gonna like it more then the blood of Olympus, i was right annoyingly enough)
You should do more videos about the life of some characters. That would be cool to see!
Looking dapper my friend 😄👌
The second I finished reading the house of hades, I knew this was my favorite book. I was going to get SO mad if he didn’t put it number 1! The second a Tartarus section ended, I would be dying to know what happens next, and the same thing for the outside world. It is in my top 3 favorite books of all time if not my favorite.

Morgan have you read DOTD by Rick Riordan ( full name is Daughter of the deep)
It’s his first not mythology based book and it’s pretty good
Also you should read Aru Shah by Roshani Chowkshi, her first book even has Rick Riordan Compliment her
Me who's favorite is The Dark Prophecy 💀
For me, it's the book that still has you guessing on what Apollo is and is not lying about, so it's one of those books that makes you think.
“Or I could tell you a story about a similar thing that once happened to me." - Apollo to Meg, after the zoo quest
i love the sunflower sibings

That took forever but was so fun to make tell me if you agree
Agree with alot but not with house of Hades because I felt betrayed with this book, I'm stumbled across an image from pintrest of Leo the closing the door (which I assumed was the door of death )and the other characters tearing up which I thought was going to be the actual ending , seeing that I expected that will see some kind of epic battle between the 7 and monsters in Tartarus the next book will follow the story with Gaea emergence and demi gods saving Leo from Tartarus and putting an end to Gaea.Maybe I just enjoy this book as much is because I had way high expectations.
I like son of Neptune
When I started reading hero’s of Olympus (after the original series ofc) I was living with a pretty much bipolar emotionally abusive man that my mom was dating, it was a very hard time because sometimes he was great but other times he was a cold person. Anyway when I read the hero’s of Olympus books it was like I could escape, so the those books will always have a very special place in my heart. It took me about 1 month to read everyone and it was one of the best months of my life, staying up until 10 at night with my cat sleeping next to me reading those books. On a side note besides very few instances he did a good job ranking them
yay! new movie flame video!
@@rorylynch7775 I would agree if the reason was something significant, but her leaving the rest of the camp to die because of a carriage is too much
A great video and I mostly agree with the ranking!
Please make a Hufflepuff house characters ranked video on how kind the characters are because there are rankings for every other house!
Completely agree. The Titans curse is my favorite, the House of Hades is the best book Rick has ever written, and The Last Olympian is one of the best nonfiction climax’s of all time. Every time I reread them it feels like I’m reading them for the first time.
My ranking
1 The battle of Labyrinth
2 The last Olympian
3 The Titans curse
4 Tower of Nero
5 Mark of Athena
6 The burning maze
7 The house hades
8 The son of neptune
9 The hidden Oracle
10 Tyrants tomb
11 the dark prophecy
12 Sea of monsters
13 the blood of Olympus
14 The lighting thief
15. The lost hero
Never this early to your videos. Hope you are doing well Morgan.
It really astoundes me how insulted people got by the thought of two males loving each other
Great list, my ranking was a little different keep in mind I still think every one of these books is incredible:
17: Tyrants Tomb
16: Dark Prophecy
15: Sea of Monsters
14: Sun and the Star
13: Hidden Oracle
12: Blood of Olympus
11: Tower of Nero
10: Son of Neptune
9: Chalice of the Gods
8: Lost Hero
7: Burning Maze
6: Titans Curse
5: Mark of Athena
4: Battle of the Labyrinth
3: Last Olympian
2: Lightning Thief
1: House of Hades
Reasons for weird picks
Tyrants Tomb: Hate what he did with Frank
Sun and the Star: Too much of a romance novel but still incredible book
Lost Hero: Didn’t expect to see Percy after reading the title
Titans Curse: Between 5 and 6 but I just prefer Mark of Athena
Lightning Thief/Last Olympian: Can’t beat “Look, I didn’t want to be a half-blood…”
Can you do more on the sun and the star please, i love your videos
With your favorites series being HP, the hunger games, and Percy Jackson.. you HAVE to give the Red Rising series a try.
My top five :)
5. The Lightning Thief
4. The Titan's Curse
3. Battle of the Labyrinth
2. Mark of Athena
