Dwayne Mctaggart You should land on the ball of your right foot in the middle of the circle just inside of the front half of the circle. If you imagine the sector lines extending to create a “pizza slice” your right foot should be just inside the tip of that slice.
Wilkins has a wide right leg while Powell does not. Could you discuss the differences between their two styles? Seems like Powell's is potentially more reliable and really focuses on sprinting to the center with a short step and then a long one to the power position while Wilkins is much more complicated. Thought please?
Thanks Coach Matt .... I will work the pause at 9 o clock..
Your vids keep getting better!
Great video! As always
MY BIGGEST PROBLEM i have been trying to work on and AGAIN you come right on time right before my meet at liberty university on saturday,
Mainly for the shoulder and back areas
(right handed thrower) should my right foot land closer to the left sector line than the middle of the circle?

Coach Matt, I was wondering if there are any specific stretches that you would suggest for discus and javelin?
Do you ever have your high school athletes train with heavier/lighter shot puts like 5k, 14lb or 16lb?
