Thanks for sharing your thoughts. July 2023 I bought my A7IV after having point and shoot small compact cameras the previous 20 yrs. This has been the most joy I have experienced owning a camera. I have never shot more, never learned more, and now I go places just to shoot and use my camera. The grip is so comfortable to hold. The customizable buttons, spiny wheels, and clicky dials give exacting control. And the joystick…so much control! Looking through the EVF makes the rest of the world go away. The auto focus is terrific and 4K video on a full frame camera hits different than a 1 in. sensor. I have gotten so much out of photography owning this camera. I hear other content creators refer to the camera as a tool, (soulless, clinical, etc.) and I don’t know what thet are talking about. This is a Fantastic camera, and the reasons all center on it doing what a camera should do and doing it well! I did pick up an A7C (OG) Jan 2024 as an everyday/street photography camera. It is a little smaller and portable and sparks joy in its own right, but my A7IV is a wonderful camera, too good to trade or let sit on the shelf unused for too long.
You don't need a camera you need to keep exploring different countries/places, keep friends extra close(Faizal) that have a vision and taste for travel . I did 11 years with a Canon 5Dii I love that camera and took me all over the East Coast chasing cars and drag racing events. Keep the camera and spend on traveling.
My thoughts exactly. Buy one camera and stick with it as long as you can. Get maybe two or three quality primes and nothing else. Spend the rest on travel.
great camera...33mp and great autofocus, not that big size, great grip ...i wish it had a tilting screen and not a fully articulating one . Everything you said is on point
I use an old Fuji XT2 as a hobby photographer. Bought the A7iv as a full frame camera initially for birding as Sony has a nice budget long lens. Agree with most of your points. For a fun second camera you could get even an older camera like xpro2 though Fuji prices sometimes are very high. Even xt3 is still good.
I wonder at 3:17 how do you deal with the silent (electronic) shutter introduces strips in some LED light environment? I found that at night I have to turn off the silent shutter almost all the time to avoid the strips. Because the strips is almost unremovable in post.
Yeah I definitely try to avoid using it at night or around LED sources. If I’m brave enough to get a photo I’ll just keep it off, and there are times where the banding isn’t very prominent and the photo is usable
Mate, I love this video man. The photos are looking so clean after treatment! Really do appreciate the breakdown! Question! The video b-rolls of you shooting around the city, is it also the a7iv? And you know the lens that was used? It's so crisp, thanks man!
In my opinion any camera these days no matter if it’s an old Dslr like Canon 20D or a new one like the A7 IV will do the job just fine when it comes to do street photography In my opinion too the lens is way more important than the body of the camera and at last it’s always about the photographer,s eye to capture a good shot …
The Nikon Z6III is the new hybrid horse in the prosumer market. It's video specs (12-bit N-RAW/6k 60fps...12-bit ProRes RAW for FCP users) pretty much sits in between the Sony FX3 and 6k BMPCC. Photo specs? Business as usual...Nikon do what they do.
I’m a Fuji X-T5 shooter and I’ve been thinking about getting a Sony. I recently tried the Sony a7Rv and a7R4. The a7Rv was more comfortable and had a very quiet shutter to boot. However, if I think back to the most amount of fun I had with a camera, it would definitely be when I shot with Leica M film cameras. Unfortunately, I can’t afford an M digital camera. I used to own an x100f and X-Pro2 and that’s the closest experience to an Leica M, although it’s still not the same. Anyway, I really enjoy your videos!

Yeah I definitely feel like I’d wait for the XPro4 to have new tech, but definitely wouldn’t be opposed to an older XPro for the right price

Thanks! The b-roll of me is a mix of different cameras. Lumix S5II, Fuji XH2S, and Fuji XT-5, not sure about all the lenses though
Thanks for taking the time to review the camera. Sounds like you are yearning for a Zf... 😊
Haha I guess we’ll see, the ZF is a cool camera for sure
Love my Fuji X100 VI, just need different focal lengths, looking to add a Sony to the mix. Thanks for the video
I debated getting the X100VI over the summer but went with the Ricoh instead!
Oh yes babyyyy. Making me wanna cheat on Fuji
Let’s swap?
good stuff dude👊🏼 i’m hoping for an xe5 or xpro 4 myself 🙏🏼🥹
Need an XPro4 announcement soon!!

I got a Leica M10, Q and a Fuji x100v next to my Sony. In the end, all feel the same once the honeymoon phase is over.
Yeah I think about that a lot, the excitement about a new camera would eventually wear off
Why not keep it on silent shooting all the time? Thanks for the video, I am looking to upgrade and deciding between the a7IV & A7Cii
Silent shooting typically creates banding/distortion in photos so I use it sparingly

Yeah I write off Leica now just due to price. But definitely hope to have a digital M body in the future
What camera would you get?
