My argument is the fact that they're still manufacturing the V8 to this day. Why couldn't they have just slapped it in there? Or even the V6 for that matter as that is also still being used. @@ndou03 as far as i know the only cars still with a v8, are the s-class, GLS , and both AMG GT variets, everything else has been downsized to 6 and 4cylinders, I assume both regulations and costs to make the v8 engines compliant to emission regulations, is probably what made them kill of the v8 like that. At the end of the day, they're a business and turnover profits are their biggest concern.

The whole point of the C63 is to have a high energy experience. From the sound of the V8, driving dynamics and ride. All you've said in this review is discuss the opinions of car enthusiasts and that it's fast without considering how compromised it is in*isolation*. It's fast yeah, but it isn't an emotional car whatsoever & that is what made the previous one so iconic.

It's not just the engine, its handling isn't up to par. It's way too heavy and the hybrid implementation is horrible. Another thing, as soon as the battery is depleted, you are stuck with 350kw and will only get 500kw when the battery is charged up again. This is just expensive crap.

For AMG enthusiasts the C63S is not just about speed............it evokes emotions in the way it sounds. Sometimes it is not about how fast you moving or 0-100 nonsense. If I am paying R2.5m it better have a 6 cylinders and above. I want to rev the thing and get goosebumps. The M3 is what I will go for, not this 2l mercedes with a huge power bank in the boot.

As mad and amazing as this car is and I do like my mercs... the w205 C63s was the last Good C63 in my opinion.. w204 Coupe 507 or black series was Peak AMG. Most 63 AMGs are timeless yes cost alot to maintain but 20years old well maintained still good hows this one going to be in 10years with that battery situation??
This car failed across the world in sales. Other than car reviews, little to little to little to no one bought this car. You must be a special person to buy it for the asking price plus options. The W206 C63s E is a perfect car with it's performance... But it's not a driver's car anymore alot of true AMG fans still prefer the W204 and W205 C63... If Mercedes only had to use the V6 from the C43 and the hybrid system that would've been still be a perfect C63... I believe i a true AMG fans gonna buy this he probably gonna replace the I4 with V6 or I6 🔥🔥

i think Merc needs to change the name of the car, and this is because we all know the the name plate c63 was referring to the body type(c class) and the enginge capacity(6.3 liters v8), now to call a 2L engine with 4 cylinders a C63 is an oversell for me. lets hope the car does well in South Africa, but if it wer my money i would just buy the M3 touring. Nice car though.

I think the purpose of this car is getting confused . if you want a daily driver buy a baseline C class with all the electric and efficient stuff you want, those who want the C63 are purists who care about big engines with big power and sound , not about how much power you can get from the size of a juice bottle ..
Why is this even coming to SA? Everywhere else in the world it was met with disgust. 2L 4 Cylinder turbo has no place in a C63 AMG leave that for the already overpriced A45 AMG. 2.5 million rands for this engine. Mercedes Benz will soon return to the old V8 4L.

I was on of the “purists” and naysayers for MB going small engine hybrid…however as an avid F1 fan for a number of years and having seen the evolution of motorsports as well - this is the natural progression for performance cars. This is one of the best shot films I've ever seen.
Its got all the Power (670hp) and engineering prowess but none of the SOUL
Performance-wise, it's not even much better than the previous one. The extra power and torque are nullified by the massive weight increase.

Agreed, they should have used the previous gen C43 v6 and then did this tsi thing on the current generation c43. The jump from v8 to a 4 pot was huge.
At this price I can buy a used G80 M3, Polo vivo and a Toyota Hilux, that’s a 3 car garage of really good cars.

As mad and amazing as this car is and I do like my mercs... the w205 C63s was the last Good C63 in my opinion.. w204 Coupe 507 or black series was Peak AMG. Most 63 AMGs are timeless yes cost alot to maintain but 20years old well maintained still good hows this one going to be in 10years with that battery situation??
This car failed across the world in sales. Other than car reviews, little to little to little to no one bought this car. You must be a special person to buy it for the asking price plus options. It must literally be for a tax write off. It cant be for a new generation as the new generation dont like driving, they Uber, Lyft.

The new C63 is great from a distance, the performance and the looks. The issue is that powertrain
The W206 C63s E is a perfect car with it's performance...
But it's not a driver's car anymore alot of true AMG fans still prefer the W204 and W205 C63...
If Mercedes only had to use the V6 from the C43 and the hybrid system that would've been still be a perfect C63...
I believe i a true AMG fans gonna buy this he probably gonna replace the I4 with V6 or I6 🔥🔥

- It is because of that E-Performance Technology that this thing has laughable boot space.
- It is because of that E-Performance Technology that this thing weighs as much as a block of flats
- It is because of that E-Performance Technology that this thing has to use pumped in Sound via speakers, in and out, and still fails to sound half decent

- The M3 Competition is doing just fine in Europe, and it is everything this car can never be.
- Then there is the questionable build quality on most of these C-Classes with their squeaky interior pieces.
- In an era where the M3 and 3 Series are so good that the entire thing is a Masterclass in Building true performance cars and excellent quality cars in and out, even the Rabbit teeth front end doesn't deter buyers because the rest of the car is just so damn good!
- Around the world, we all know that the sales of this thing are non-existant, because people are a lot of things, but they are not stupid, and Mercedes has fumbled this one, badly.

You know this car is a sham when just about everyone else is more excited about the CLE 53, than they are about this.
Design wise. This C63 looks cooler than the M3.
The engine is an anticlimax to this car...

This is car is not selling well in Germany and it's competitors are winning (M3 & RS4 are cheaper).......... The C63 S E has an identity crisis....... It's heavy and compromised. It's not about speed with the C63 but how it makes you feel and it's presence
The Predecessors kept the V8 tradition that's why I love them although from 6.299cc to 4.400cc
The performance figures are undoubtedly impressive, but I think the sales figures speak for themselves. I would certainly love to drive one, but I could never see myself owning one.
The review took so long to come since it was announced on the TH-cam shorts, annd when it came it sounded like you had to first confirm the script with mercedes about the car and find ways to hype it up... i think Merc needs to change the name of the car, and this is because we all know the the name plate c63 was referring to the body type(c class) and the enginge capacity(6.3 liters v8), now to call a 2L engine with 4 cylinders a C63 is an oversell for me. lets hope the car does well in South Africa, but if it wer my money i would just buy the M3 touring. Nice car though.

I think the purpose of this car is getting confused . if you want a daily driver buy a baseline C class with all the electric and efficient stuff you want, those who want the C63 are purists who care about big engines with big power and sound , not about how much power you can get from the size of a juice bottle ..
Why is this even coming to SA? Everywhere else in the world it was met with disgust. 2L 4 Cylinder turbo has no place in a C63 AMG leave that for the already overpriced A45 AMG. 2.5 million rands for this engine. Mercedes Benz will soon return to the old V8 4L.

I was on of the “purists” and naysayers for MB going small engine hybrid…however as an avid F1 fan for a number of years and having seen the evolution of motorsports as well - this is the natural progression for performance cars. Well done Mercedes - Benz👏🏾 for taking the leap into the proverbial “unknown”
