The $50 is so you pay Auto Auth, nothing to do with FCA. They're just a central clearinghouse that processes the information for the tools. You create your Auto Autg Account (Free) then pay $50 per yr to register up to 100 tools as described in the video. The $50 fee covers the website upkeep, etc so they can keep all the information and website up to date. They want to know who's accessing these cars anymore. My guess it's only going to get worse as with these self driving cars, etc they won't just want anybody working on them as they'll be prone to being hacked with telematics, built in networks, etc. It's getting crazy anymore and gonna going to get worse.
Keith, So if we have 3 scan tools but update them on a rotation basis with the exception of 1 (IM-608pro) then will we still have access using the scan tool if not choosing to update the tool this year? Last year did Snap-On, Skipped Bosch and now this year reversing the tools. Can we still access FCA vehicles with this? Also how does this work with J-2534 pass thru boxes as well? Do they need to be registered?

So with this, will i be able to Program Keys for my 2018 charger? I have the Snap On Zeus and i go to progam keys and then says error gateway is locked... Also can you clear regular codes or do you need to get access the the SGM to clear even basic codes?

I think Autel should buy back all those 8 +12 cables back or give us the first year of Auto Auth for free if the 8+12 cables no longer are supported by Autel anymore. I just got mine back in April!

They should be able to as well. The updates are the same for the different letter model number scan tools. Unless Autel has made them useless because they were purchased on Amazon

so how does everyone in the business get by with just using the bypass cable? my xtools has a special cable the connects to the sgw, others just have a cable that go from the security connector to the obd2 pins. What chrysler dod is bull and I wont buy another one. I get the radio access problem, but hardwiring these in is nuts and evidently only locks out non chrysler mechanics..
IDK $16.00 for a 12+8 cable from amazon and this is a one time fee. But then again I own a 2021 Jeep Wrangler and a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica I can't justify the $50. SGW module is easy to access on both.
I have the USA version, and the autoauth and it doesn’t work, i guarantee, he can not make a video and get a passcode for programming keys from the OBD only, for a 2018 and up Jeep or Chrysler. You will need to use 12+8 cable or other extensions.

I hate Chrysler. So I see that Launch is not listed! Neither is many other popular aftermarket scanners like Thinkcar, Innova, Foxwell, Actron, Etc. All those tools will be obsolete for Chryslers unless you hack the cars.
This really pissed me off. I just got the MaxiCom MK808 shipped to me. NOWHERE ON AMAZON OR AUTEL does it mention that this is a chinese only product. Go to do the whole AutoAuth registration to work on my 2020 challenger for just an etc relearn and NOPE. Doesn't work. Spend hours doing research on a product that on Autel's site says it is compatible with this vehicle for that special function and it doesn't work. After just sending back another tool from Launch that wasn't compatible with FCA's crap. Now I'm gonna have to return this tool as well to apparently get the MaxiCheck MX808? Legit almost the same fricking tool but with the magical capability that it can be authorized as an FCA legit tool? Oh and the cherry on top of this shit pie? On the auto auth registration site, when you choose Autel as a manufacturer you know what it says under models? It says ALL FUCKING MODELS!!!!!! Yea apparently that's a bad chinese translation or something.
You bought an offshore non USA serial number, many function will not work on those tools. I know they are cheaper but that is why, you must buy a USA model from a USA distributor.

@@dshein4 Auto Rescue Tools and Computers. Best support in the industry and gauranteed to sell you a USA serial numbered tool.Pretty much every Amazon Ebayor cheap tool is chinese retailers with offshore serial numbers. Thats why they are cheap.

Im actually not sure on snap-on, but with the autel, it must be an up to date subscription to access the SGW cars.

You would have to send your serial number to a autel distributor to see if it is a US serial

The first time you use it after registration it will make you login into autoauth on the tool, but no nothing else.

If you do not have a bypass cable you can not progrsm keys. Period. Autoauth is for diagnostics only.
This is huge for us Chrysler owners. (My 300 is a 2019. My 906 came from China so I might be out of luck but I'll go find out. Thanks Keith.

With Auto auth, no cable is needed, you can use the OBD2 port.

@@keyinminutes3211 to add keys, yes, but the IM608 requires the bypass cable for the key side. For 2018 up we use our LSID as they are rolling code.
