Hi Curtis, Firstly thank you for you excellent autel tutorials they are fantastic. I own a IM 508 and an XP400. I see a lot of the key programming videos are using the IM 608. I have 2 questions. 1.does the 508 have the same key programming capability as the 608 with the XP 400?. 2. I do not own a j2354. Do I need this box for any key programming features and if so which ones. These are burning questions that I cannot seem to source the answer to. Thank you
Hi Jason. Thats correct everything you see with the im608, you will be able to do with the im508 and xp400. You dont need a j2534 to do any key coding. The only reason you see it used on every video is because the j2534 is also a VCI ( vehicle communication interface) The im508 connects directly to the obd port of the car from the tablet

Hello Curtis, I've been watching your video's for awhile now, and want to thank you for content that is second to none. As a new locksmith concentrating on Automotive, your videos give excellent tutorials on process steps for using the Autel key programmers. I too have an IM508 with the XP400 Pro and the IMKPA adapters. I also do automotive diagnostics mostly using the Autel 906BT. I have had several situations now, where ECU flashing became a necessary step after completing diagnostics. I had to send my customers to someone else to have their ECU Flashed to the latest manufacturer update. Will the J2534 VCI work as a stand alone device to plug into a laptop?
Thats correct , If you use a J2534 device , you can connect it to the laptop for programming. I do offer training on this and I woudnt get the autel j2534 wit your set up. Mr. Sims, I am saving up to start a mobil key fob business. If I had all the money I needed, I would buy a Autel im608 pro and an Xhorse Dolphin 2. But alas, I don't have 6 grand. What would you recommend for a novice who has watched a lot of TH-cam videos? I'll let your practical experience guide me. Also, do you think I can start out without a key cutter, just making new remotes until I can afford an xhorse?
@@bigart9488 Hello Sir, it’s difficult to get by without a key cutter of some type. There are more fob head keys and flip keys out there than prox key fobs( push button start) and even those have an emergency back up key that will need to be cut. I would look for a manual key cutting machine to start.

2015 lexus IS350. Same process. Key wont learn after simulator was created. Verified remote part #, battery good, correct freq etc etc. any ideas? Fails smart key learning every time.

Hi I am using IM609 with the APB112. I follow the steps exactly and backup car EEPROM file. When writing the file to APB112 I get "Failed to program key" error at 2%. Please help

If all you want is to add key you might be able to do it with just the current working key also use lishi pick for toyota to extract key code , or remove door cylinder and input code into condor machine , if no code take cylinder apart and read pins

Hello , I just discovered that most key programing options on autel im508/im608 are online and need WiFi connected. Pls after the 1year Free update expired, can this functions still works or needs to renew update ? E.g (Toyota smart key programing, BMW key programing, Mercedes password and key programing, Peugeot Pincode reading e.t.c
HI Micheal, I manage my clients accounts and from my personal experience its not mandatory to be online ( or have a valid subscription) in order to use the key coding functions. It really depends on the manufacturer that your working on. So for example for some vehicles like BMW or VW they software needs to be online in order to do the key coding procedure. There are other manufacturers that dont require it. So to answer your question, after your subscription ends you can use the majority of the key coding sofware with not problem. Just some vehicle need to have a valid subscription in order for it to work.
Hi, I have the Autel MaxiSys Elite. How do I go about registering/programming a 2000 Lexus LX470 with NO MASTER key. I only have the Valet key. I already have the key fob and key cut. I keep getting no connection fault. Pls help!
As far as Toyotas work you must have a master key in order to add an additonal key. The expensive way is to buy another ECU model and a new master key ( A new module is in "registration mode") Then you can register the new master key and spare key. Or you would need the Im508 or 608 that will possible have the function to add the key like on the video demonstration
Sorry curt, IM608 i tried so many times but it is not support. 2017 Camry can not support all key lost programming on IM608,if you want i can send you log files, i sent log files to support and they told me that after 2016- not support.

Hello , I just discovered that most key programing options on autel im508/im608 are online and need WiFi connected. Pls after the 1year Free update expired, can this functions still works or needs to renew update ? E.g (Toyota smart key programing, BMW key programing, Mercedes password and key programing, Peugeot Pincode reading e.t.c
HI Micheal, I manage my clients accounts and from my personal experience its not mandatory to be online ( or have a valid subscription) in order to use the key coding functions. It really depends on the manufacturer that your working on. So for example for some vehicles like BMW or VW they software needs to be online in order to do the key coding procedure. There are other manufacturers that dont require it. So to answer your question, after your subscription ends you can use the majority of the key coding sofware with not problem. Just some vehicle need to have a valid subscription in order for it to work.

Hi, I have the Autel MaxiSys Elite. How do I go about registering/programming a 2000 Lexus LX470 with NO MASTER key. I only have the Valet key. I already have the key fob and key cut. I keep getting no connection fault. Pls help!
As far as Toyotas work you must have a master key in order to add an additonal key. The expensive way is to buy another ECU model and a new master key ( A new module is in "registration mode") Then you can register the new master key and spare key. Or you would need the Im508 or 608 that will possible have the function to add the key like on the video demonstration

Not the Im508 alone. You would need the xp400 to do those vehicles
Sorry curt, IM608 i tried so many times but it is not support. 2017 Camry can not support all key lost programming on IM608,if you want i can send you log files, i sent log files to support and they told me that after 2016- not support.

HI Westly, Im not sure since I doing doing know your software version, year make model etc. What I suggest is to call your dealer and see if they can log in your tablet.
