Look down at the body You may see no trace of wounds In the eye, the eye of the beholder One cannot, assume Not a drop of blood is drawn But you know how it bleeds Beware of the sharp edged weapon Called human being It is a shield of passion And strong will From this I am the victor Instead of the kill I will not feed your hunger instead I bite the pain Looking not back but forward I bite down Try to cover up the trail of deceit And daggers spawned from your soul Acid the tears of remorse flow in vain Too late for regrets Save it for the next ill fated game
Here are the corrected lyrics Look down at my body You may see no trace of wounds But in the eye, the eye of the beholder One cannot, assume Not a drop of blood is drawn But you know how it bleeds Beware of the sharp edged weapon Called human being I bear a shield A force of passion And strong will From this I am the victor Instead of the kill I will not feed your hunger instead I bite the pain Looking not back but forward I bite down hard Try to cover up the trail of deceit And daggers spawned from your soul Like acid your tears of remorse flow in vain Too late for regrets Save it for your next ill fated game I bear a shield A force of passion And strong will From this I am the victor Instead of the kill I will not feed your hunger instead I bite the pain Looking not back but forward I bite down hard
You can hear the Halford influence coming through here, and even more so when he does the hybrid TSoP vocals that made the record. That Painkiller cover is the best cover I've ever heard by any band.
So that’s why the officially printed lyrics have always said, “…I bite down hard”. He never says “hard in the studio version, but I guess he just submitted the lyrics he’d written without revising them to match the changes he’d made.
I don’t think chuck is a bad singer, but I think his vocal deliveries are so strange, this sounds like mr bungle or faith no more or something it is very odd. His vocals for death are way better than this, if he worked on it he could’ve actually sounded cool with clean vocals, but he should’ve gone for a rob halfird esque thing not…this. But hey I appreciate him trying something different and not just being like ‘that’s not metal enough 🙄🙄’
his screams are real yummy though but i feel that he could do better singing wise also the recording quality of the vocals sort of did him dirty i dont know how😭
Even in the deluxe edition of TSOP that is in spotify you can hear this song, A Moment of Clarity and Story to Tell, they all say "With Chuck on vocals", litterally.
This was for Control Denied. Thank god it ended up as a Death song
I think clean version is more emotional and the original death version is more sharp. I can't decide which one is the best version.
@@metalformetal434 I think Chuck is more in scream
with Tim on vocals I think this could have been amazing
@@metalformetal434The drumming is better on TSOP
I agree. It just doesn't fit the vibe.
his clean vocals are quite good, wonder what album opener he had in mind prior to writing "Consumed" and "Scavenger of Human Sorrow"
100%, Love A Story To Tell demo with clean vocals too & that savage Chuck scream, like Rob Halford but even to another sick level
The guitars.... brilliant. How I miss that guy...

Just can Chuck have brain to make music like this. This is not god give. Because he is the god.

Hey what do you think about intro from Zombie Ritual?
helal olsun abi
I’d argue “The Philosopher” or “Evil Dead” for the intros, but I’m also not mad at your choice 🫡

1:20 pantera vibes
His clean voice on this song is literally Cemetery Gates
ngl Chuck DOES kinda sound like Phil, especially on Symbolic
0:22 lmaoooooo that part sounds so funny with his clean vocals, r.i.p Chuck
I think his scream sounds really beautiful and crazy
not chuck
This is insane. Fav band, and now they just became even more interesting…..damn. Love it!!!!
I've been looking EVERYWHERE for this! THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this! If you have anymore of this demo, I would ABSOLUTELY appreciate it!
I have another demos and I will upload them soon :)

Sounds great! Chuck rules!
WOW!!!! Can't stop listening.
Thanks for this
This....is awesome!!!
Best. Always
Oh damn, those vocals are criminal 😬
the screams are amazing but the singing sucks
@@ikon4255 agreed lol
I can understand the changes chuck wanted to make but I think he sounds better when he does his screaming
Chuck Schuldiner was too brilliant to live among us, that's why the stars took him to themselves.
I prefer the TSOP version but this is amazing I had never heard him sing clean
I like it more than the original one

there are other songs with clean voice by death than stoey to tell and Bite Pain?

like i get the sassyness in his singing but like huuuh
This is not Chuck singing
Hmm... If these are clean vocals...
Then is this a Thrash Metal song, or is it still within Death Metal?
I’d say it’s progressive metal
It’s definitely still too technical to be thrash
I think this is Tim aymar on the vocals. The singer in Control Denied
Is Chuck

Who is it then? Paul Payne? That's Chuck, is the same voice he has on the interviews, his real voice.

on the deluxe version it says it is with paul payne, but i don't know it's too similar to chuck vocals
@@israelfe3938 that’s what I mean
This was before they picked up tim Ayman because chuck said he couldn't sing like that while playing guitar.
credit for trying but the guy can't sing.
