Which is a choice or out of their control. I do feel like that magic she created on stage, on screen and in any interview or photoshoot seemed in part an escape from trauma. Society just made it impossible for her to escape that Iconic figure Marilyn Monroe, to self care... self heal and be able to be Norma Jeane in peace. It's tragic and I can fully empathize, and understand in part her struggles. 'Blonde' is a unapologetic Fictionalised Biographical perspective on her life. Ana did an outstanding job, I agree.
It’s a great film people just read too much into it. The cinematography, score and the acting was brilliant. People should just watch with open mind and read the book it’s fiction and brutal but I appreciate the film making creativity

I rolled my eyes when I saw that Ana would be playing Monroe. And then, I saw it...Wow, from the production to the make up, what a movie. Ana's performance is RIVETING. If you haven't seen it, do so, you won't be disappointed. Ms. De Armas deserves some type of recognition, as well as the production of this Beautiful Movie.
One of my favorite things about this film was the way they took iconic moments from photo shoots and made them come to life. So many... even personal photos that I've seen in books perfectly recreated.
No matter what how cruel and unjust some reviews can be, her acting, her performance is above and beyond any doubts, she is an Star; the work of the whole team that make possible this movie is so close to perfection that ALL deserve an Oscar. Marilyn’s life wasn’t easy and even though probably she didn’t got through every thing the movie show us, is the director’s license that tell us a history and we need to respect it.
Her acting was remarkable but I did not like the script. We see almost only dark moments and we don’t see the overall of Marilyn. That is what I did not like. I guess it was adapted anyway from Oates’s novel, that is why we do not see everything we wanted to see. I think for a talented actress like Ana de Armas, she would deserve a little more than that.

And as far as I have learnt about her, her life was indeed very dark, her mental state was dark and the filmed portrayed that in its own way. You could plainly see Ana's commitment, respect, and faithfulness she had while playing her. She was simply amazing. I don't think any other actress would've been better suited. They really got Marylin. It felt like I was watching a real film and truly great acting. She deserves an oscar. I'm so excited for what she does next.

Excellent performance by Ana. The movie has beautiful cinematography and a good balance between fiction and reality. Was she a happy person? No Was she miserable all the time? Probably no. But there is evidence of her rough childhood with her mom's mental illness, violent marriage to Dimaggio and depression and anxiety in the world of movies. Nevertheless, she was brave and strong until she couldn't be anymore. Too bad that no one helped her, no one was close to her...she must have felt soooo lonely.

No es una biografía, es una novela, un biopic ficticio por parte de la autora, por tanto, si la película de Netflix está basada en este libro, no es su biografía. Además, cuentan los biógrafos, que Marilyn, sí, era una persona atormentada, pero tremendamente generosa, inteligente y divertida. I would have never thought of it, but she did look lovely as Marilyn! However, I don't think there will be any more big "movie stars," as portrayed from that era. The movie industry has changed too much, with fewer movies in theaters, and more going to streaming networks and small screen, not to mention small content celebs on the rise, from social media. Neither Ana nor any other actress currently working today will ever experience the kind of stardom that Marilyn had. Hollywood isn't even the same anymore, and movie studios no longer control actors' lives.

I would have never thought of it, but she did look lovely as Marilyn! However, I don't think there will be any more big "movie stars," as portrayed from that era. The movie industry has changed too much, with fewer movies in theaters, and more going to streaming networks and small screen, not to mention small content celebs on the rise, from social media. Neither Ana nor any other actress currently working today will ever experience the kind of stardom that Marilyn had. Hollywood isn't even the same anymore, and movie studios no longer control actors' lives.
