Ana's Marilyn Monroe is really excellent. She earned her place as the best actress nominee, very well deserved.

I think that Ana de Armas is an amazing Actress and she has worked so hard to achieve these characteristics roles and even though I did not like the Marilyn Monroe movie, I think she was able to captivate Marilyn Monroe's personality traits. I hope she wins the Oscar!

Some issues with the movie but I still think it was a good movie overall. She gave a terrific, haunting, unforgettable performance as Marilyn. Richly deserves this Oscar nomination.

The fact that I felt the movie boring and long , gives her even more credit. She was the only reason I watched the movie until the end. She did a terrific job. She must ended up drained emotionally. It must have been exhausting to carry that character like she did frame by frame. Very well deserved the nominations. In a perfect world, she could win the Oscar…but here on Earth, not sure about it.
Ana De Armas gave the most emotional, profound, and visceral performance out of the nominees. She deserves this Oscar nomination and in a fair world would win.
But ain’t fair…I think she deserves it. But even if she doesn’t win, she should feel proud of being in that group of nominees.
Ana de Armas totally deserves this nomination as much as the other nominees. She has left everything as Marilyn, She made a great campaign since Venice with a 14-minute standing ovation at its premiere. She has been nominated for the Golden Globe, Sag and Bafta.

One of the best performances of the year
The movie's storyline was disgraceful to the legacy of Marilyn Monroe. I was surprised by many to see that they thought it was an actual re-telling rather than a work of fiction based on a book that is fiction. It's a controversial book that spins Marilyn's life into a cesspool of her personal trauma's for whatever reason. However, Ana did an amazing job with her portrayal as Marilyn and I think the Oscar nom is well deserved. She really put effort into this and that should not go unnoticed. The movie had great cinematography and an even memorable score. It's sad that a lot of the great talent in front of the camera and behind was wasted on a horrid story but in the end "art" is subjective. Congrats Ana.

I love Joyce Carol Oates and have read quite a few of her novels. Her part fiction / part truth book that this must be based on is Blond. It’s absolutely a must read for people who love all things Marilyn. Oates can write like no other.
I must have read Blond off and on at least 5 times. It’s definitely racy. That’s putting it mildly. I don’t think I will ever reread it again. My hardcopy fell apart.
But I also want to say, that the novel is so long and detailed that I do not see how a movie could be accurately made from it. It would have to be in about 12 or more installments, like a made for TV movie. It definitely soured me on the Kennedys.
Lastly, I thought Ana wore the most beautiful gown for the Oscars. The best gown of the evening. :)

She's a terrific actress and deserves the nomination but dang do her pupils look huge in this interview. So either she's on a stimulant or other certain substances, or she has some issues with her brain or eye which is causing it. But screw it i'm not one to talk and honestly if Michelle Yeoh(or Williams) doesn't get it then hopefully Ana does. She's gorgeous
