    Hey Caleb, I like your commentary. I think you said this horse foundered about a year ago, any idea what caused him to founder?

      The most common cause for founder is metabolic. Metabolic is basically diabetes in horses. Fudge's issues are metabolic he was severely overweight and had foundered in the past it was this last bout that almost finished him

      Yes, I'm aware of it usually being Insulin Resistant, much like us, but the cause can be his weight and lack of exercise, green lush grass, to much alfalfa hay, or the grain he's fed. I was just curious, and with it happening twice, I would be changing his diet, and trying to figure this out?

      We changed his diet and he's on medication now his previous founder was with a different owner so not sure what happened there
