You can definitely take the pull start and rotate it. The spring will stay coiled.
Fantastic! I wish you well during the planting season. I can hardly wait!
Pretty slick install of the hydro pump on the trailer but were I you I would think about taking it by a local upholstery shop and having them make a heavy vinyl snap-on cover for that bad boy. If you don't it won't take long for it to match the underside of the trailer with mud and dirt blow-off from those back wheels. Brody will have to blow the carburetor right off that thing in order to get it clean and you know Dougo isn't going to get his hands dirty pulling on no filthy rope handle. Just thinkin'...
Good Evening Larson Farms. Thanks for another video.
Nothing I like more than starting the day out with a Larson farms vid... keep up the great work boys
Go to Ag Storm Equipment and get a set of Track Wheel Cleaners to stop the trash from building up and wearing the paint off of your rims.
You can rotate the pull starter on a Honda engine to different positions with no issues. Thanks for the video
Make sure to retorque those extension parts a couple times regardless of how busy the season is.
You 3 are all young men with outstanding problem solving minds. Keep it coming.
we all love the stuff you guys share with us, and the new tech stuff to make the farm more productive, amazing be safe great stuff god bless
Awesome experience
Keep up the great work chet.
They’re from my home province of Manitoba! Cool beans!
I think we need a drinking game for how many times Chet says “I’m super excited for this” lol. Love your videos Chet great job
So back in the day, my heavy truck mechanic father would just take the center hub nut and bearing out and remove the wheels and drum all at once! (Get a wheel dolly, makes life easier without removing the tires every time you do a brake job)
Love the show. Great work Gents.
😢I bet that tractor would do some killer donuts!!! Again great content thanks for Sharing.
Canadian content love it
Thanks for another video ---- fun visit.
Well Done as always Fellas!!
Chet. Go to your welding supply store and get some beanies . It helps with a little on sharp edges.
As always another AWESOME and ENTERTAINING video
Dougo got so aggravated he just went to the corner and got as high as he could go !!🤣🤣🤣
Love Dougo and his battles with technology, I can so identify with him on that.
Great stuff on the Donkey hydraulic unit for the trailer.😊
On the Honda motor make sure you shut the gas when not using. The gas will leak into the crankcase while driving down the road.
Looking good lady's
Glad Jean has nurse friends they can check out your head wound! Honda just like the mower 1 pulll and it starts.
Best into yet. Keep it up lads, I’ve been watching for years!!
You should make a line of larson farms bump caps
Another awesome video. You can turn the recoil upside down on the, so that it's pulling downward or more of a straight pole with your right arm. Also for about 200 bucks you can have a electric start kit to those.
Another job well done Chet, Eric, and Brody, will be very handy to not have to take a tractor with you to load/unload that trailer 👍
Yup when the lowboy trailer is up, the big holes near the bottom hinge are where transport lock pins go. So they lock the neck up vs. Hydraulics holding it.
Geniuses from Manitoba 💪!
Great video! Don't forget to change your oil after a short break in period on that small engine. The oil will be black after 30 min.
Good morning guys. Hey this was very interesting. Cool video. Take care and have a good one!👍❤️
They don’t get get screwed up. We’ve had to rotate our air compressors handle and it has the same motor honda
The reason for the type of wheel on lo-boy trailer is strength. Budd style wheels are bad for cracking from lug to lug and tearing centers out of rims. Most all extra heavy duty applications will have the Dayton style hubs(what you have now)
Recently subscribed to your channel. Love it!! Farmers need many talents I'm finding out. Enjoying the videos!!
We have a couple 2 track deeres in 144" track spacing, we carry a 24 row 36" mounted planter with no lift assist, awesome planting setup for us gravity irrigated guys
Dougo, I feel your pain, lol. Mostly because that look made me laugh so hard my ribs hurt! Thanks for that, I really needed that today!
That’s cool I had to see where in Canada these guys where
From and I see it’s rosenort Manitoba they are only a hour and a half away from me that’s very cool to me
21:53 Chet, if you did want to move the pony pump off the back of the trailer, find a spot on the semi tractor, perhaps on a couple if you use a couple with that trailer, and put a couple of hydraulic ports on the absolute rear end of the trailer. That with a pair of say 30’ lines to connect those rear ports to the pony pump on the semi tractor gets the semi out of the way of the loading zone, and gives you full use of the entire deck of the trailer should you need that at any point.
Thanks for another great video Chet.
Yeah Canada 🇨🇦
You can easily reposition the starter handle on that small Honda. The rope and spring inside are caged and will not come loose.
The best penetrating oil I’ve seen is a 50/50 mix of acetone and atf.
Check the batteries on the remotes
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO CHET 😊
Magnifique démontage des chenille et les cale 9520 large 😂😮😅😊
Chet, about those hyd hoses in the trailer and zip ties, you should put some sheathing at the zip tie because over time the zip tie will cut through the hose.
On the planter, consider widening the 30” on-row centers to 32” between planter units #10&11 plus #14&15 to allow for the 30” track belt compacting right on the crop row. Plus, second thought - keep the 9X ready to go as a backup option, due to the known mechanical unreliability of 13.5L JD 9530T.
9rx will be on the other corn planter.
I don't really understand why both 8370t spraying units aren't planting unless they are spraying pre emergent with one.
@@delbutler885 Probably not allowed to tune a leased tractor. Need at least 425 hp to pull a 24 row at 10mph.
@@lynwessel2471 what is the soybean planter that Brodie has been pulling with the 8370RT. I guess if you want to really know ask Randy. He's the money guy.
Awesome video!
I would look into putting fenders over your axel. Keeps everything cleaner and if you need to load something onto one of the pillers it is easier to stop than to try and stop with out them.
Hey Chet, if you don't want the small Dayton hubs you should be able to go to a low pro 22.5 hub pilot hub. We done it to a 1970 something step deck with the same size that you have now.
18:10 "get the air out of the hydraulic line - do you know?" With a pneumatic vacuum pump, that's how they do it in the factory on all brake systems. You would need to devise a way to hook the pump up to your line system tho.
You take pain in your stride ,well done, young man....😮
Oh and I feel the pain on door opener programming, we bought 4 extra ones for the new shop truck and other equipment. After a friend showed up and made us feel stupid by showing us a learn button we kept missing. We looked at the lower control and up on the motor. I’m sure it’s something simple, it was for us at least.
For the garage openers as far as i know there is basically old and new style of radios in them. My vehicles worked fine on my old one but when it failed the new replacement would not work with my old vehicles any longer. I also got some keychain ones for my motorcycle to have so when i was coming home i could reach to my keys and open the door as i was pulling up. There again i had to choose the right remotes for the new motor.
Those 3 screws pulls the pull string off in a complete assembly and it can be rotated
Glad to see everything went well on the pump install and I feel for you Dougo they dont give you enough info sometimes
Good Ole inbound brakes. I helped work on those years ago. Pain in the rear.
Would love to see a corn rootball dig this summer on the track rows to see if the compaction is too close to the row
Poor Dougo. Pretty impressive kit.
Love everything you do! But I'm pretty sure you want to build some sort of steel cage around that little motor/pump. The first time it gets tapped it will be a goner. Of course the cage won't save it from a big mistake. After a long day, it will happen! But it is a great idea adding the pump to the trailer.
Terrible idea. Just use a wet kit from the truck.
Send the "Big Swede" up to one of our Scottish Highland Games, test his hydro pole tossing and farmers walk abilities lol
You all need to take your struggle bus shirts and cross out the struggle and print over with the word fail! Love watching the struggling fails.
The new wide stance looks great. I trust you will be happy with the results come planting time.
Wheel seals, drums, brake shoes, bearings, tires. In the fall dougo will trade the old girl for an rgn and be done with the old crap. Those hubs are dayton and the lugs are shovel lugs. When the drums are inside the hubs they are called inboard mounted, when you have a hub pilot wheel and the drums are outside they are called outboard mounted.
Nice job.
What a pain it was to have to take a tractor with you every where.
Can’t wait for a large frame 2 track they may not be nice on your ground but personally I think the 9530T lookes better than the 9rx spaced all out
Hey Larson farms Rev. Paul, Eustis Florida. If you spread some yellow corn meal down before removing the tracks on concrete floors and spread more replacing tracks save time plus safer.
I’m a Canadian and I seen a porta power like ten years ago when I was working at a local auto body shop is and after school job went to the patch and bought a set cus I thot it was cool and had the cash it’s in my shop unused to this day lol
I do not know if they were just joking with you but they are from Manitoba not very far from Winnipeg is where the head office for Princess Auto Canada's version of Harbor Freight where you can get them I live in Canada and have 4 ton and 10 ton porta power the one I have had over 35 years and know other people that have them also. When I got my first one I thought I would just use it for a couple of things I was surprised all the jobs that that I found uses for it.
I'll trade ya the Wild for the Jets. I'll throw in a first round draft as well.
What does that got to do with the video also would not care much about that trade do not live near Winnipeg.
@@hawks2252
a small cage around the motor pump might be a good idea, to add a little protection for it.
Just great video! Keep up the great job!
Forget the Hub Oil Get the Grease !!! You Will Love it !!!
Those porta powers are handy to have around
The trailer brakes, you don't have to take the wheels off the hub. It comes off the spindle all in one. Just take the bearing nuts off and outer bearing off. You will need a wheel dolly to do it.
you may want to add a pilot operated check valve or counterbalance valve to keep the trailer from leaking down. But they won't work directly with a float feature.
Your going to need some mud deflectors now with those wide tracks they will be sling mud everywhere
Might be a good idea to run a spiked closing wheel and drag chain next to the tractor tracks.
Great video guys. Thank you guys
I changed out a pull start motor a while back and replaced it with the Chinese knock off version. If you get the one that looks exactly like yours (I think its Loncin but might be Lifan) it is all good as the Chinese manufacturer used to make the Honda engine to the point you can buy the Honda parts and they fit exactly. I think Lifan make a copy that isn't as good tolerances but don't quote me on that. My one works really well and my fingers now do not get ripped off when it kicks back as its a 16hp engine! It was worth every penny and was about a third of the price of a Honda.
You can clock the pull start.
Doug should make sure he has the correct series door transmitters for the opener. We had the same issue and drove us crazy for a bit. Needed 1 revision higher to work when the control board was replaced after a lightning strike.
Since you're obviously keeping the trailer I would spend the extra money and upgrade the hubs, drums and rims. It would be with it in the long run
You mite want to put some type of mud flap or cover to keep that nice new motor clean yes you can move the pull cord good job
Pick up a wheel cart u can pull wheels and hub as an assembly saves time and work
Good video! Now here's some great advice, grab a few of your favorite 5 gallon gasoline cans, and go to a small local airport and buy aviation gasoline, use that for all your small engines on the farm, such as this hydraulic pump engine sprayer transfer engines etc
That aviation gas just doesn't go bad fast like gas station type pump gas does.
New tires also.
Seeding on the tire tracks are sometimes the best emergence.....on sandier soils only though.
The Mexican cheek implant finally ran its course. Looking good!
Safety glasses when you’re grinding buddy, I just had a piece of steel from a grinder drilled out of my eye,not fun
They're gonna get screwed one day when someone gets hurt because of the lack of safety. And it's posted all over the internet
Guys guys guys who needs safety glasses when you have safety squints they’re so much easier
Hearing protection too. I've been wearing hearing aids since I was 50 because of all the tractor operating and shooting I did when I was young. Now I can feel myself getting more deaf just from splitting wood. I have to wear ear muffs for the simplest things. Do it when you're young, boys, and you won't have to listen to constant ringing when you are older.
Add a bump cap to that list
Safety rules only keep people without brains alive so sad😂
I see you use alot of zip ties. If you have a problem with them breaking right out of the bag. You can add water in the bottom of the bag so all the ties touch the water and the next day they won't break when using them. The zip ties are made with plastic and it will absorb the water and make them flexible. Especially the black ones because they are made with a regrind mat. I've worked with plastic for 30 years.
Thanks for the video Chet.
Most interesting and informative video.
The kit to widen the tracks worked well for you. Now you can use this tractor to plant with. The crew knew what to do and how to do it. Nice work everyone.
Sorry about the cut on the head Chet. Hopefully will heal ok. The hydraulic pump system is working fine that you put on the digger trailer. Nice work everyone.
The hydraulic come alongs will work good for that crew from Canada. Nice tools you showed them.
Sorry Dougo about the door openers. Reprogramming them can be a pain.
Hang in there Dougo.
About it I guess. Thanks for everything Chet. You all take care and be safe.
The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Great vid Chet!
Thanks, I needed another fix. Nice!
Nice install, but do you have to stand on your knees in the mud to be able to operate the hydraulic, perhaps a valve with remote would be more useful🤔 Perhaps some kind of cover on the motor in the back also would be useful
Still no Snow ❄️ yet? 1:29
Grab a piece of plywood throw some grease on it pull the cap remove the nuts and bearing and slide the wheels, hub and drum all out together. Replace the seal clean the drum replace the brakes if necessary and shove back together, there is also a jack assembly made to pickup wheels and drums and to roll it off the spindle.
I worked where the porta power system was made.
