I remember the Mangrove Snake's exhibit use to be some type of owl and next to it was a classroom-esque area for classes and presentations. Not sure how long ago they put up that panel. The last waterfowl aviary/pond had bait trap of crawfish for enrichment for the birds that guests could pull out of the water and lower back.
I really like these walk throughs, they give a sense what the exhibit is actually like. For me this exhibit seems a little tired and outdated. The central aviary is a great concept but that otter enclosure looked too small and the heron and egret aviary was dark and dingy. I prefer to see animals in large bright airy enclosures. The excessive use of dark wood panelling and decking makes it oppressive. It doesn't seem a place to linger and enjoy the educational information, more a place to glance and hurry on.

The swamp has always been my favorite at Brookfield, I just love the look and feeling that you get!
There is also a section called land if crocodiles at the alligator farm too! They are both equally amazing!

I think it was an Eastern Screech Owl. I know there was an Eastern Screech Owl when I went in 2010

Can you talk about everything else in Brookfield zoo, especially the one with dolphins 🐬?
The Chinese giant salamanders enclosure is way too small.
