Torsional Irregularity Check Per ASCE 7-16

Torsion in a building can affect building performance in many ways. It not only adds complexity in predicting building behavior but it also reduces the ductility of the system. Thus there are many criteria and penalties associated with Torsion and thus it is extremely important to understand every aspect of building design associated with Torsion.

All, one correction in the video at the beginning! The channel section will not twist when the load is applied at the shear center and not the centroid! I apologize for the error in the beginning. I will post a video on differences in shear center vs centroid of a section!
