People. What is this world coming to. This man's family members decided to keep his love for something that he loved doing. Then a lot of the comments are insinuating that they would do it for money. Not like the man who spent a lot of time as a police officer and started this to show what works best for you!! He did a real good job of it t to. I have some experience with detectors seeing I drove over the road for 29 years started in the late 70s. But have owened 100s of detectors so I know if someone is losing to me. I used this site to check my thoughts and opinion as far as companies high thoughts on their products. But cut the family some slack or show some empathy for the loss of a good man. Thanks for reading this. Paul.
To the family, I was just about to ask Roy a question when I saw in the comments he has passed. Having lost both parents and a brother, I know the hole it leaves, he sounds like a kind man and it seems he lead a full and happy life, His videos are still helpful to people, thank you for keeping them up.and please disregard the negative comments! I try to remember there are more good people than bad (perhaps insensitive or simply missing a few marbles). Also I am going to assume I can purchase my motorcyle radar/laser detector Adaptiv TPX package. Warmest regards Chad RN Also do you have any used, scracthed lighty damaged ones available (tight budget supporting an extended family
To the first commenters point. I really appreciated what Roy contributed to the community. I respect his work and miss him dearly. I feel for the purpose of Radar Buster and respect of Roy, to have someone take over Roy's position as a spokesman for Radar Busters. This video contains old footage which is a couple of years old now, and it doesn't reference any new technology is being offered today other than what can be seen on the website . The Escort Redline is no longer the bench mark with new detectors that have come out, yet its being promoted with old audio of Roy's commentary. I don't believe this necessary to use for these reasons. Radar Busters order of ratings for the "five star" Radar Detectors category is inaccurate. You have new detectors listed, like the Uniden R1 and R3 that have yet to promote or reviewed on this channel. The Escort Redline is listed at #7, and from a performance standpoint should be listed at #3. (The "XR version" is just a "Redline" that has preinstalled segmentation feature already enabled). The XR isn't necessary and should be removed. Lastly, Roy devoted a lot of time to do his individual testing for his fans when new radar detectors that came out, reviewing and explaining each new detector. He was very hands on and loved demonstrating all the latest detectors and it's features in a real world setting. My favorite thing about Radar Roy was to see "Roy" in person. Seeing him in person and listening to him talk helped me have a personal interest in him and what he was about. It was my first video that got introduced and interested into Radar Detectors. Having a face to promote the channel really helps keep interest for me, and keeps me coming back for new content. This video is using old footage that Roy created in years past. I can clearly see the website has been updated with new products and you are updating your branding. I am only suggesting that this channel is using old footage and using old footage to promote the new website. I don't believe this will be as effective as highlighting new products with in depth reviews. Roys always began each video highlighting the new product, demonstrating its features and showing his face. It feel that have a spokesman "face-to-face" interaction is better that putting old footage to promote the newly updated website. If this channel is going to continue, I believe this channel would be better in having a new spokesman to carry on Roy's legacy through this channel to discuss, promote, and review new radar detectors as they become available.
Excellent points and sadly when I asked for a detail or two with regard to a coupleof unots I got dead air. No response to email. Wasnt the case a while back.
/-/-/ RB_ ZL1/-/-/ It is the new review At the beginning of the video it shows the new unidens being on a website page The voice over is from a past video from awhile back and sad someone asks about a radar detector they are pushing this crap to make money and don't take 2 mins to answer the guys email
Mike, one our expert customer support reps, provides extremely good support, so we're surprised to hear of this. Please call us and we think you'll be very satisfied with your experience.
Correct, this is the same video that accompanied the reviews that have now become outdated. This video is the same video that has been published in the past, without specific references to products that are outdated since. This updated video simply removes the references to discontinued products and has left the parts that are general and educational. Some of the visuals have simply been updated to reflect what RadarBusters' website looks like today.
This is actually happening, and if you look carefully, site branding is in the process of being updated. For example this site is entitled RadarBusters and the website, as it is being updated to reflect new products and technology is reflecting the passing of my husband. But understand that our loss is extremely painful and to dwell on the past is unproductive and hurtful. It's a new day for RadarBusters and we are striving to continue to be a leading voice of education. We disagree with our assertion about our rankings. The Escort Redline, while extremely capable in its day, it's on its way out of production and is especially compromised by its inability to effectively filter out newer moving K-band CAS systems and we are now emphasizing the importance of effective filtering today which if not kept in checked or updated undermines the otherwise excellent aspects a any given detector. When the eventual replacement of the Redline happens (which we are assuming is going to be on their revised M7 digital platform of the Max Ci series) , then we expect this replacement detector to be ranked higher then what it is now after our staff tests it. But it is also true that companies like Uniden and Radenso are currently doing a better job at filtering out these systems and we feel that regardless of what comes out from Escort in the future, they need to do a better job of improving this aspect of performance. Raw sensitivity is just one dimension of a radar detector's overall performance and we are reflecting this fact in our reviews and rankings going forward. Feelings toward individual radar detectors have always been a subjective thing, so opinions are going to vary from individual and review sites. We have also increased the ranking of the V1, even though RadarBusters doesn't "sell" it, to also reflect the new realities. The V1 is better at filtering than it used to be, when it was referred to as "chicken little" and we are accurately acknowledging this fact. We hope the supporters of the past will continue to support Roy's and my vision when we co-founded RadarBusters. Thank you.
After finding out what seems like his wife entirely operating his TH-cam account I can respect them trying to make business go on its what he would of wanted And even though alot of people in the CM community did not agree with some decisions made He still was an enthusiast himself and that's why alot of people were put off by the likeness being used From what was said about updating the website to reflect his passing people will now know he passed and won't be put off when it says Radar Roy will message you back I wish the company well and they'll sell tons of CMs simply by testing the products to find out which ones perform best and sharing that information with their customers to make informed purchase choices The comment made about the V1 by Marge of radar busters (even though they don't stock it) Sent shock waves through CM community we can can 100% stand behind ranking products in order of effectiveness whether they sell them or not Is applauded And we all look forward to more of this in the future
Its just a matter of transitioning lots of material and components that RadarBusters.com has out there. Even with the help I have assembled, its going to take time as we identify the things needing to be updated. Already we've been making updates to RadarBusters mailing campaigns and other things and when we learn what needs to change on our own or by individuals pointing them out to us. We have already been able to address the offline chat mode. The team that I have been assembling absolutely understands that need to transition solely from RadarRoys online personality and to be candid I've personally have always felt this was something that has been needing to be done since my husband and I acquired RadarBusters back from Hayneedle. I differ from Roy in that I always feel that it is better to talk in terms of "we" then "I" because its the "we" that actually ran the business and continues to do so while the "I" was the sales and marketing "face" of RadarBusters. We have been in the process of redesigning the website in its entirety and to update it to be a better shopping experience for our customers but that effort is taking a long time to complete and it is even a more daunting task when we have to maintain and update our existing site. But I remain confident that we will get there. Thank you for your supportive words.
Hi. Nice video, please can you help me to choose a radar detector to use in my bike. Is someone waterproof? I will use it in highways and city. So I need the unit that can detect all the radars of all technologies. Thanks
I see Radars displaying my speed on the Roads but my 360c max NEVER flashes nor sounds, no signal at all. I got 2 Tickets in one Day, armed with a brand New 360 C Max that never went off by sound or light flash. If Cops have this technology, 360c Max is WORTHLESS out of the Factory. Any explanations?
@crabjoe Wow, just one recommendation? The video describes clearly that not everyone needs the same type of detector. Uniden R1/R3 (GPS) has best range, and RDD immunity against Spectre elite. Max 360/360C (Wi-Fi) for 360 protection with arrows (not fully RDD, Spectre Elite can detect). Radenso Pro, Probably 2nd best range (all three = ranges above 2 miles) MRCD detection capable, as is R3 but this has wider scanning range for MRCD (speed cameras, like DC and NYC).
forgot to mention the 360 does not filter and goes off non stop in everyday highway travel in auto mode. i wasted good hard earned money on overhyped junk. so very pissed off
Radar Roy I am sure has dependants who benefit from the Organisation he established. How come people listen to less honest ruthless Salesmen "Booted off" his Forum for dishonest selling?. ex followers of Roy's, who only got established using Roy's good name aand reputation, but have no integrity at all?.
You keep using a man's image that has passed away without telling the subscribers or the public he has And now are maliciously imposing voiceovers from old reviews to make new videos twisted
If you notice, the description accompanying the video clearly states that it has been produced posthumously, perhaps you failed to actually read this. Nor are there any "voice-overs" that you suggested. This video was simply an edited form of Roy's previous video without reference to outdated products that are no longer relevant. If you examine the material on the website, it is changing to reflect the passing of my husband. There is a lot of material online and it's going to take time to update everything with the staff that RadarBusters has. But Roy's legacy and informative content, much of which is timeless, will continue online. It is noteworthy, that it appears that the most outspoken supporters of Roy today, were also some of the very same individuals extremely critical that trashed Roy while he was operating RadarBusters. Those comments were very mean spirited towards myself and my husband and so the comments, we expect will continue by some of the same individuals who now speak so highly of him and his past contributions. Where were they when it mattered to Roy? How many of the online community who are speaking so well of Roy now, attended his funeral or sent condolences to our family or our staff? Zero, that's how many, The only ones who attended were those from the industry including those for Escort, for which we were grateful and non-profit Choir Boys and a few close friends and colleagues. Video production is one of the components of education that RadarBusters has utilized and as we go forward, RadarBusters will continue with new spokespeople as staff members, just as with any other company, but like everything, it's not going to happen overnight. "RadarRoy" has been a "brand" for a long time. It was the same brand when Hayneedle purchased RadarBusters and operated without Roy and now that our family has the business again his spiritual influence will continue on. This is actually a very common practice whenever companies lose a key individual historically associated so closely with a company. KFC, Wendy's, McDonalds, Burger King, Mark Levinson, to name a few, are companies that have done the same thing and we are doing our best to follow in their footsteps. It's been a very difficult time for me and my family during this period of transition, but my husband made it very clear that he wanted the business to continue and that's exactly what we're doing, continuing to serve Roy's and RadarBusters vision to remain one of the leading sources of education in this industry. For the most outspoken critics of RadarBusters both past, present, and sure to be future these facts are overlooked. It's going to take time to fully transition going forward but my staff is currently helping to do this, which are many of the very same individuals that worked behind the scenes in the past to support Roy's brand. I've chosen to respond to some of your observations, but I'm not going to dwell on the past. There are those who prefer to dwell in the past and there are those who live for the future. Our continuing efforts with RadarBusters are focused on that future just as most of us strive to live productive and happy lives despite the negative things that can and do happen to each of us. We are building a first class team whose collective goal is to provide the absolute best support to our customers. I hope those of you that are more sympathetic to my family's misfortune can understand this and will continue to support Roy's and me and my staff's vision going forward. For those in the forum community who won't or can't, we wish you well, but we're moving on... I welcome constructive feedback as we navigate going forward in the best way we can and would be happy to speak to some of you privately. You can call our number and ask to speak to Margie. If you have a good story about my husband, I would appreciate hearing how Roy or RadarBusters' staff helped you when you were getting started driving with countermeasures. Thank you.
It's unfortunate that you refer to my husband as simply a dead man. Do you realize how hurtful this is? I hope you never have to face the loss of someone so close to only to have someone you don't know refer to your friend or relative as being a "dead" person. This video is was a revision of an existing one to be more educational and generalized then the previous one of last year which cited specific examples of products that our now outdated or out of production, You are welcome to unsubscribe to this channel and be non-supportive my and RadarBusters's continuing efforts if they offensive to you. I'm honoring my late husband in keeping his spiritual influence and guidance to those in this industry alive. I'm sorry that you don't feel the same way.

I do mostly highway only driving in upstate NY, will the uniden r3 be my best choice???
What type of detector would you recommend for someone in Europe, where they use advanced speed cameras every 3-400 meters?
After finding out what seems like his wife entirely operating his TH-cam account I can respect them trying to make business go on its what he would of wanted
And even though alot of people in the CM community did not agree with some decisions made
He still was an enthusiast himself and that's why alot of people were put off by the likeness being used
From what was said about updating the website to reflect his passing people will now know he passed and won't be put off when it says Radar Roy will message you back
I wish the company well and they'll sell tons of CMs simply by testing the products to find out which ones perform best and sharing that information with their customers to make informed purchase choices
The comment made about the V1 by Marge of radar busters (even though they don't stock it)
Sent shock waves through CM community
we can can 100% stand behind ranking products in order of effectiveness whether they sell them or not

Where's the detector recommendation? It only speaks to how to select a detector, not what's the best, as the title suggests.
The Uniden R1 and Uniden R3 are our top picks currently.
You can find out more about them at our website.
