P.U. and Budvar are my favourite Czech lager’s and you have the best lager in the world! 😊
U Hrocha is my absolute favourite little gem of a pub/restaurant in Prague. ♥️

I have been going to Prague for last 20 years and always avoided U Fleku, but went last october because I was caught in a rain storm. I loved it. Must see old style, service was great. Yes price is for tourist but still dark lagar was nice. Just need to sit there and enjoy atmosphere. At this point, czech beer is the best in the world and one finds themselve trying to analyze what tank pilzner is the best.

Konvikt on Bartolomějskáis is my favorite beer pub. Nice local spot, great tank beer. Pretty good food to drink beer with.

I've been to Prague four times, and I still want to go back! I've eaten at U MEDVÍDKŮ, and their beers (and food!) are great, but you'll be lucky if you get a taste of their strongest beer - X33. They only brew it in small batches, and it sells out as soon as it's put on tap! I know Pilsner Urquell sets the standard for pils, but it's a little too dry and bitter for me. Not really so thirst-quenching as I would like. From the Czech beers I've tasted, Kozel Black is my favorite. I've never seen it here in the Netherlands, though. For the rest, I would rather drink water than American "Budweiser".

You can get Kozel Black in many of the bigger Polish supermarkets in the Netherlands, along with many other nice eastern European beers. Proost!

@@dominickhuf Thanks for the tip! I still haven't seen Kozel Black here, but I live in a small town in the south of the Netherlands. I don't know if there's a Polish supermarket here, but I'll search. It's probabaly available at the big international beer store in Amsterdam. There was a small Czech/Slovak bar on the Amstel in Amsterdam that had a Czech dark beer, but I don't know if the place survived the COVID closures.

Everyone is happy that the beer is so cheap, but the glasses are only half full every time

Do not go to U Fleku. It's the definition of a tourist trap. Maybe it's different for locals, I don't know

My system can no longer take much alcohol, not even a regular glass of beer. How can a guy order a small beer in Prague without looking like a wimp with waiter raising eyebrows.. ;)

    • @stevemcgowen
      @stevemcgowen 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I only order small beers, but I drink a lot of them. I learned it from my best friend in Prague- who is also a bar tender. He prefers the small beers because you can drink them in a few gulps and the beer is always cold that way.

@@fshcake Yes the Czechs do take their beer very seriously. Just got to go with the flow. 🍺😊

Are you serious - U Flekú?
Probably the most touisty "pub" in town, avoid this place!
Not a good recommendation for people visiting first time and want to know what Prague is like
Your no 2 is a good choice, still do not miss U Rotundy and U Kocoura, the real kind of places never change.

We appreciate your opinion, however the video is about Traditional Prague's beer places and U Fleku is traditional as the oldest Prague's pub and many people including us doesn't have that bad experience. But you are right that there are mostly just tourists in U Fleku... But I must say that their dark lager is really good and the food is good too.

    • @stevemcgowen

There are a lot of places I go, which I wouldn't necessarily recommend tourists go. The 3 choices are touristy, but have history and are also popular with locals. Kind of like Lokal...
