On my second trip to Prague I visited the first bar (Pivnce U Kata) and after taking a seat and getting an awesome pint I noticed that no other than Yanek was sitting at the table next to me!! I lived in LA for almost three years and saw many Hollywood celebs but I was genuinely star struck 😂. I had a chance to chat with Yanek before Honza showed up and he was as friendly and engaging as he is in their videos. Before they were about to leave I pulled the waiter to one side and asked him to put a beer for each of them on my bill. Next thing I realize, the waiter had told them of my request and instead Yanek paid for all THREE of my beers. Totally not what I wanted but an awesome gesture. Keep up the great work, guys.
I am from Denmark i came to Prague for the first time in 1995 and are going there a few times each year. This is my favorite city in Europe. I got so many great memories :) I remeber living in Ujezd in an old badminton hall on a hill with a 100 other backpackers just next to a place called club ujezd and a bagel shop, we used to spend 1 month each summer at that place.
Det virker også som et naturrigt og spændende land. I videoen siger han at man kan få en øl til 40 kroner, altså, ungarske kroner. Er det sandt? Er prisforskellene virkelig så sindssyge?
The first pub you show to us guys is the first pub i visited to Prague. Very honest place indeed. Thank you guys for your amazing work, you help us travelers a lot. Big fan!!
Yeah I went to "Cooking" last August. Good Schnitzel! Also the monastery at the top serves great beer and goulash! I was lucky to have visited when I did (from the UK). Very few tourists and the food tour was great! So many more things I could say about this city! I will be back! Love it!
I love "U Kata". I found it on my own by pure chance on my first trip to Prague some 12 years ago. This was the place I first tried Hermelin and Utopenec as they didn't have any other appetizers, besides packaged chips, that day as it was quite late in the evening.
Happy to see you out and about doing your thing again. "8 minutes" walk now will surely become 60 minutes again once all the tourists begin to flow back to Praha and the prices will once again rise to meet such a joyous occasion.
The prices? Not really. All the places (not the new one obviously) had these reasonable prices even when the city was full of tourists. That's why Janek recommended them.
Hey, cool backpack! Is this a preview of the Honest Guide Backpack you promised us??!! Very glad to see all the restaurants operational and the city opening back up again. Can't wait to see more of Prague in the Summer!
I remember watching this video when it came out, and recently my Grandad was telling me about his time in University; I thought he only went to Brno, but Prague apparently too. He was telling me about his favourite pubs around his school; which was then the Political School in Lichtensteinsky Palace. 3:51, I thought I recognised the area when I got him on street view from this video. His favourite was U Kocoura back in the 1970s. Still tells me about how he used to watch the locals go in, have 25 Urquell and stumble out.
I love your videos, I love Prague and I love beautiful country. My first visit to Prague was in 1986, it was a hole different world. Regards from Spain.
Those were the good ol` days when one could drink oneself out of one`s mind in Prague for the equivalent of 5 € (back then, the 0,5 l glass of *Urquell* cost no more than 25 cents in today`s money).
@@stefanhernold345 Exactly, I have the very same memory! The buildings were all grey, few people in the streets. The police took us apart in their office to intimidate us, since we were laughing in public. And just like you say, the best beer in the world for almost free! This is my favorite channel on TH-cam :) Every video is always so interesting. Would you guys ever consider doing some videos in Czech? Or even adding some Czech subtitles? I grew up in Prague and watch these videos to keep up with what's going on there since moving to Canada. I thought it would be really cool to also be able to practice some Czech through the guides you offer, but I know it's probably a lot of extra work!

Just returned from a fantastic break in Prague. Spent most of the time looking for Janik (and Valerie the guide from another channel). No luck. Went to all three pubs, U Kata was our go to after a days walking and to watch the football. The barman in Tankova Pivnice(?) knew Hansa. We mentioned Honest Guide hoping for a discount. Did the same at Kuychen, but got a blank look. Thanks for the review. We have visited many pubs on our two visits and these were among our faves. My wife ws calling Janik names after a trip to Lokal was cancelled due to high volume of customers. Quote, "Bloody Honest Guide, telling everyone about this place". We still love Prague though.
That last view is one of my favorite views from my visit to Prague. I have a panoramic photo taken from very close by on a balcony at the Prague Castle complex of this view. I cannot wait to visit and see it again.
I visited Prague twice so far , I highly recommend it . I am so glad that you appreciate your city . I live in Canada and I am passionate about history , art and architecture . The only time I am really happy is when I travel , because Canada is really boring when your passion is history etc .Loved your video as always

This video made me crave Czech beer with some delicious Czech food.😋😩 On my way to the airport during my last time in Prague, I told my uber driver that I was flying back to Chicago and I was pleasantly surprised to learn from him that Chicago has one of the largest Czech population outside of the Czech Republic and true enough I found some Czech restaurants there. They’re not as good as the food in Czech Republic but I still go to Chicago occasionally whenever I miss Czech food and Czech beer!🍺 I’ve already been to Prague twice but I would love to come back there again one day to eat delicious Czech food, drink a ton of Czech beer, then go for long walks around the beautiful city with my beer belly😂

First thing I told my friend when he wanted to visit CZ was to either pay with card or get CZK. It's because not many businesses are legally allowed to exchange money or hold multiple currencies in their register, so it's possible the waiter was literally breaking the law letting you pay him in Euro and paying the business out of his pocket. But it was still a very unfair exchange, yes.

Jožin z bažin (that’s the only words I know in czech)
yeh! Svijany got a shout out
Svijansky Rytir is my default and I'm lucky my local shop always has it in stock
Nevím jestli to už nemáte, ale byly by fajn nějaký samolepky na dveře směnáren, které doporučujete. Něco jako "Approved by Honest guides"
I don't know if you don't already have it, but some stickers for the doors of the exchange shops you recommend would be nice. Something like "Approved by Honest guides"
