Absolutely! I think filming is the easiest part since I'm crafting and having fun. Editing is not nearly as bad as doing the voiceover. At least I can watch my favorite TH-camrs while I edit!
Absolutely. I need to do more experimenting. I'd love to do mostly brown wash with some areas of black wash. I should try a really pale brown wash on the grout lines to see what it looks like.

The two holes in the bricks are never seen on the “face” side, they run from top to bottom of the brick between the mortar beds. As the sides and tops/bottoms are different dimensions the brick will not fit.

The paper clay is really easy to work with. Drawing the brick pattern yourself is easy but a pattern roller makes it faster. I LOVE paperclay. It's so much fun to work with.

I made some brick fronts using fast-food drink carriers. The texture is perfect. Applying craft paint hardens the bricks up significantly. I inked the edges and a bit of the front to age then up. Then I applied a coat of matte modge podge.
@@queencityminis when the mason taps the mortar it gets pushed into the holes and makes a stronger bond. I built dog house wall with them and staked them to the ground with rebar on the ends. That was 20 years ago now. Walls are still there long after the roof rotted away.

The holes in the brick, allow moisture to wick out. Moisture can penetrate the brick, and weep down to the bottom. And evaporate out. Otherwise, the wall will degrade, and it can rott the inner wall.

This is a different approach other than using insulating foam to make bricks, I have this idea for doing 1/24 scale auto dioramas and one of the things I'd like to have is a typical red brick wall. If your brick wall is 1/12 scale, I just cut the measurements in half to get what I want.
Yes, you could cut the measurements in half for 1:24 scale. I'd suggest texturing the bricks before cutting the lines. A toothbrush would work. You could also lay a piece of 60 or 80 grit sandpaper over the surface and press it down.

Your more recent brick video caught my eye and then I watched this one. You definitely do some of the nicest miniature bricks I have ever seen though. Pretty cool. There's a few problems with this wall as you modeled it though. The first - You can't make a window in a brick wall like that IRL. The top needs to be supported or it will collapse. There's a variety of arch designs that are used. Single large stones where sometimes used as well. For more modern windows, a thick steel slab is often used as it's cheap and doesn't take a lot of work. Of course, that's out of the question for old buildings unless it was retrofitted later for some reason. The second - You don't have any headers in that pattern. A header is a brick turned turned 90 degrees so the short side is pointing out. These are important as they're used to tie the layers of brick together. You can really only have an all stretcher pattern like this where the wall is only one brick thick, which isn't really structural. You can find plenty of information on bond patterns on the wikipedia page article called 'Brickwork'. The third - The bricks with the holes in them are called cored bricks. The core holes always run from the top of the brick to the bottom of the brick. Those bricks would have to be shiners which aren't actually compatible with your stretcher bond layout. You can find more about that in the same article mentioned above. Anyways, fix those small issues in the future and your walls will look a lot more realistic.

It's definitely not complicated. There are lots of options for adding character to the bricks but you can do as much or as little as you'd like

Glue and dry coriander leaf then drip on acetone to make it sink into the cracks and go a richer green.

Those little holes are for holding morter and or rebar. Helps add structure to the wall so they don't fall over

I had crooked lines and bricks that weren't a consistent size but you can't see mistakes in the end result. This is a very forgiving technique.
