He clearly had a thoroughly-considered and passionate interpretation. I prefer his interpretation much more than other cellists I've heard. What makes this movement tough in a competition is holding together its sweet/tenderness while still being heard over the orchestra (personally, I prefer this movement with piano accompaniment). I think Pablo did this incredibly well. While we can't change the past, I think he deserved a higher rank. :)
There aren't many musicians like him, what a gift..
one of the smoothest interpretation of this wonderfulpiece I've ever heard . Deserve First place !!
I agree
I was going through the #TCH15 videos and to my surprise I get to discover this magnificent cellist!! WOW -- I'm very drawn to his passion & very own sound. He's destined to greatness indeed. Pablo Ferrandez - un privilegio enorme descubrir tu arte y talento - tu sonido e intensidad me recuerdan a du Pré. Bravo!
muchísimas gracias por el bonito comentario ! :) saludos !
Así es
I find myself watching this over and over. It is such a fantastic performance!
Such intense emotions
Unbelivable..., what a sensibility ! Pablo Ferrández-Castro is certainly a semigod among us. Thank you so very much, Pablo, for this wonderul performance, and thanks Medici.TV for sharing.
7:40 u know he practiced 40 hours a day when he had those fingers
OMG , i get goosebumps. Pablo is truly unbeiievable
this is just amazing
Would have liked to see him win...deserved 3rd or higher.
Play Tchaikovsky variations on a Rococo theme for cello and
Magnificent.............
google recommend me this after watching him roasting, um, i mean.. reviewing with 2set... this is sooo nice 😍
Bravo!!!!!!
Me encanta 😍
SUPER !
3:17 3:40 llorar, es lo único... de lo indescriptiblemente hermoso
Brutal, és un genio!
Muito boa interpretação 👏👏👏
Maravilloso
Preciosa interpretación de este virtuoso del chelo !
Bravísimo!
I'll never understand why Ionita won. Ferrandez- Castro is a magnificent cellist. What a moving performance!
Ionita was incredibly during the whole competition. What I didn't understand were the two russians in front of pablo. For me either pablo and andrei would have/have deserved the win
all the contestants of this particular Tchaik competition were fantastic, however, it is clear that Ionita shined brightest in the final round. the other contestants did give it their all however and did a great job as well it was altogether an exciting competition
he should go to recording
And indeed he now has 😊
is Gergiev conducting with a toothpick?
Yes!
I never understood why an orchestra needs to benefit Valerie Georgiev? Any clue
I would like to know who the composer of this wonderful music is. Castro was the best.
This is the second movement of Dvorak's cello concerto
Cellist Mr Bean!
what the fuck
Everething is to slow, and goes slower to nowhere. I don't see a big interpretation things, except, look we are playing so beautiful music, with so good sound and intonation. This point is for soloist and conductor as well
This is slow movement.
Are you a Petrol head?
