  • Hello everyone,
I'm posting this video to ask for your feedback in several areas:
    1) How would you rate this car on a scale of 1 to 10 (including half points too)?
    2) If I was to sell it, how much should I sell it for?
    3) What's the actual value of this caddy based on condition posted here?
    4) Should I do anything else to the car?
Car is garage kept, original owners, 37,000 original miles, original paint, no body damage, smoke and pet free, Meguire interior and exterior products used over the years. Minor issues: replace 2 moldings under front headlights, power antenna, tiny paint chips here and there, hmmm...that's it!
I look forward to your feedback...funny ones too :)

I am in love with this car! I have a huge soft spot for these cars, my grandma had a 1983, as well, and I remember it when I was little (4-5 y.o.) This car even has the same rare wheel covers as hers did! This car is superb! One of the finest examples of these cars I have ever seen. The ONLY thing I wold change, is give it some white wall tires. BRAVO!!! 10 all day long my friend.

Thanks for the great reply. Yes, I agree with you on the tires and changing it back to the original whitewalls.

Wicked clean my friend, I just bought a 1984 Cadillac Seville in decent shape but not as mint as your Eldorado. I really want a Brougham lol.

I had an 83 Seville.. Loved it. 4100 V-8 laid out straight and regular just like yours but the car was front wheel drive. My car wasn't as nice as yours but I still loved it. I finally had to ditch it when the hydraulic pump failed in the trans (no conventional torque converter) and I was quoted 3600 - 4200 to replace the trans from various shops. They told me that the pump definitely went bad and that the trans was bolted to the frame and everything was tough to get to and to separate because of the front wheel drive and tight clearances, I forgot to add that I have car envy. I really like your car. Ill trade you my 03 CTS.

That car is sweet man! Once one filler piece go they all go. Some people will reinforce the good ones with fiberglass in the inner shell to last a bit longer. These Caddy's sell by the condition of the body, chrome and paint really and throw a later engine in them anyways. I rate this one at 7k with a good 4100. If you care for them carefully they will last.

I would love to volunteer some help for you. I wrecked my 83 Seville during a brake failure and had to replace the front pass. fender. I can tell you that by removing the fender (6 bolts in doorjam, 3-4 bolts and about 8 torq screws under the hood, and I think a couple right by the fender bumper fillters) you will have very easy access to that antenna. The antenna is held on by just a few bolts, and the wires are easily unplugged. I would definitely suggest taking a day trip out to a yard and pulling this part yourself. You could probably do that entire repair yourself for under 20 dollars.

TheAndrewGorny Wow...cool! Thanks for taking the time to leave a detailed opinion on the caddy. Just to let you, I finally had the antenna replaced with another original from a used 1983 caddy (the only way to go...like you suggested). In fact, I did post another video on this car: th-cam.com/video/f4RbbrTf7oo/w-d-xo.html . Go to 3:35 to see antenna demo. Again, thanks for taking the time to comment!

TheAndrewGorny By the way, sorry to hear about the break failure on your caddy. The master cylinder on mine was going out and was replaced last week.

Beautiful. I also have an 83 eldo. Nice shape, needs new paint. BLACKWALLS SHOULD NEVER BE ON THIS CAR. just ruins it. They came with white walls. Next set should be the same.. there a very classy expensive looking car, and they were. I don't intend on selling mine. It's a toy for me. Hobby really.

Helpful to reach out to those whom some know and love these automobiles. Being a base Eldorado strictly on appearance a good no.2 condition. Low mileage is a plus however it does need a small amount of repair. $8995 as she sits could get a smidge more after sm. Improvements. It is a base Eldorado, however I would consider why sell. Unless one needs the cabbage keep the car. I am sure I speak for all those worship at the church of Cadillac. For the love of Pete (WHITE WALLS)!

Very nice car I would write this at a9 just because I'm not fond of the solid black tires I like white wall better and the wire spoke hub caps are better I would sell this car as it stands for about 7500

Hi. Did you sell it? love this car!!!

    10, ....sell 6k-16k
If the color was darker 24k.
These cars will get more money if the paint is darker and the interior is lighter.
An all round good spec is a plus for these cars.
These one has a dark interior and a light exterior.
    However it's still nice.👍

Nice car. I like the chrome caps, as opposed to the wire caps. I would say 7500. And that is what I figured before reading any comments.

Some family friends had an '82 or '83 Biarritz they purchased new. Stunningly beautiful car. Teal paint, white leather interior, and white landau top, and then a "Rolls Royce-esque" wrap around grille. Positively top of the line, yet an absolute maintenance nightmare. If the engine wasn't stalling, the transmission was failing. And if either of those weren't happening, sudden brake failure was sure to be an issue. All electricals would go in and out of operation to such an extent you could have sworn the car was possessed by a poltergeist. But then, for me, that was all part of the mystique of owning a Cadillac Eldorado at that time. I adored riding in it. Not all Cadillacs were lemons, but some - all the way across the entire Cadillac division - were a real headache for their owners. I'm always happy when I see an original HT 4100 still in operation. Would love to own one now, but to find one in good condition is getting more and more rare. And when you do find one in good shape, it costs over 10 grand.
