Snowdon Winter Hike, Summiting Snowdon in Winter via the Rhyd Ddu Path

- I apologise for any Welsh names that got butchered in the making of this video :D Embark on a winter adventure with me as I conquer the stunning Snowdon summit! Join me through the rolling landscapes and breathtaking views of Snowdonia National Park. One of my bucket list items this year is to get in a first-time winter hike, so where better to do than to climb Wales' highest peak and its frosty splendour. On this hike I take the Rhyd Ddu Path up to Snowdon and the Ranger path back down.

My fear of heights wouldn't allow me to attempt this on a normal day, let alone in winter conditions. Fantastic, what a great accomplishment. Thanks for sharing.

Good going on doing this path in winter Oliver. I did it in 2013 with my dear late twin brother and a friend. Then it was still and full of sunshine. Here you tested yourself on multiple levels - navigation and nerve. The result - one trigger happy dude. Ha ha! Brilliant. All the best as always. Mark

What insanely beautiful land. I adore the UK's scenery. I lived in Scotland as a student but was very close to going to Wales instead - this makes me regret my choice somewhat! Thank you for recording this lovely film and sharing this lovely part of the world. Bravo for hiking this alone too!
Thank you! I don't think you could go wrong either way, Scotland has some stunning landscapes as well! I am working my way up to the Cairngorms, but will need to plan a decent amount of time there to make it worthwhile for the long trip from the south 😁

Camera FOV or not, I felt just as queasy watching it on the PC as I did on the small clip on Instagram. Not sure it's a path i'd do at the best of times, especially being so isolated and alone, so kudos to you for it!
Hahah yeah I did have some doubts up there, but was worth pushing through. It's probably much more pleasant to do in the summer when the path is clear and there are more people about :D

Did you do this walk yesterday? I was thinking of jogging up and down it tomorrow morning via the same route, but if those are the current conditions, I might skip it.
This was on the last Monday (12th), may have changed considerably by now 😄
