I spent some time on that organization's websie and could not find those signs. There were pictures of environmental rallies and protests etc. Lots of pictures. In those pictures were people holding signs of all sorts. After quite a while, my eyes got tired scanning the pictures of crowds of people looking for those specific signs.

@@fmcg5364 I work with a couple of coalitions and get sign off requests for things all the time from member organizations...there are a few colaition member organizations that are way out there and we opt out of signing a lot...You would never think that making sure kids are healthy would end up so controversial but politics does make for strange bedfellows...

The organization is radicalized and should not be funded by the government, so for a government official to not just flat out say “no, that organization will not receive tax payer dollars” speaks volumes about him and the EPA that he is partially in charge of. These hearings may not seem like much, but when it’s time for budget cuts, you can bet both your elbows that the EPA will be on the chopping block.

I'm trying to write this in a way that doesn't seem confrontational. I heard that he responded by saying they would never give money to organizations involved in spreading hate, etc. That's as clear an answer as possible without a yes or no. I will never understand that you despise the organizations that are owned by you and exist to protect you. You-and when I say you, I mean you as a country-don't even give them the power to prevent companies from filling you with cancer-causing substances. Try looking into how much of your food is illegal within the EU. Even your Fanta looks more like something you'd clean a toilet with rather than drink.

All these hearings clearly come across as theater to an outsider. Where anything other than a yes or no is not allowed, because nuance is not acceptable and doesn’t provide short clips with "Gotcha" questions. I also saw clips from the same hearing where a congress member didn't understand the relationship between rules and legislation. It's just absurd considering the position she holds.

I love my job but the other day I nearly lost my job because I stood up for one of my employees who is being attacked because she's doing her job better than the people who are complaining and making them look bad.
Forget for a moment that the advocacy groups being mentioned may be explicitly against the interests of the U.S. The larger question is how did things get to the point where purely political non-profit advocacy groups are being handed taxpayer money to fund protests and engage in political lobbying at all?
