    I have the TC Compass in 30.06. I have an inexpensive muzzle brake very similar to yours. Like your video, mine is less than 1” groups without the brake and just slightly over 1” with the brake on. If let the barrel get hot, it gets a lot worse. I have never had the barrel get hot when I deer hunt, and the deer doesn’t notice if I put the muzzle brake on or left it off. He’s just as dead either way. 😉 It comes down to the fact that I like shooting with the brake, and like you said, it’s nice to stay on target to see how the deer reacts to the shot.
    Nice video! Thanks!

    The muzzle brake definitely changed the harmonics. I noticed your donut on your rifle to tune it. When putting the brake on those harmonics changed. You would have to toy with the harmonics or tweak the load. Personally, I would get rid of the donut. If you don't mind spending $250 buy an EC-Tuner brake and get the best of both worlds all in one. I hate muzzle breaks. I was with a group of hunters one of which used a muzzle break and it hurt my hearing. In my opinion, if you can’t handle the cartridge without the muzzle break, find something you can handle.

      @@vameathunter2771 I’m in my early 70’s. When I started hunting around 14 and on into my 30’s, no one said shit about hearing protection. We’re smarter now on that issue (less, in my opinion on many others) and hearing someone in close proximity fire a rifle with muzzle brakes will hurt even if you’re wearing hearing protection. That’s why I said what I said.
      Can’t handle the recoil of a .375 H&H? Choose something else. Ditto for a .470 Nitro or .500 Nitro. How many double rifles do you see with muzzle brakes? Ditto for .300 Mag + cartridges. Man up or don’t shoot them.

    The issue with cheap muzzle breaks is that they're made with cheap material metals. Thus, when the muzzle break gets hot you risk the cheap muzzle metal melting and permanently welding on your rifle barrel.
    More expensive muzzle breaks use higher quality metals that can sustain heat and longevity.
    Yes the cheap muzzle has a significant reduction in recoil, but beware do not let it get hot!

    how do i install it

    • @vameathunter2771
      @vameathunter2771  ปีที่แล้ว

      it's very easy, just install washer first and screw in the muzzle brake. Don't over tighten it but once it's tight (I used crew driver through muzzle brake ports) and where you want it "stop". Best of luck bro.

    This is NOT a valid test because it is INCOMPLETE. You have to change your barrel tuning device's position with the muzzle brake on. This was not a complete test. Once you put the muzzle brake on, your barrel harmonics will change because of the extra weight on the end of the barrel from the muzzle brake. You need to move your barrel tuner forward or backward to get a new tuning. This is not a valid test at all. You are causing people to make an uninformed decision based on a lack of understanding on how your barrel harmonics change once you put that muzzle brake on.
