Wow, that was dirty! When I changed mine on my 2006 Element, it looked much cleaner than that and it had not been leaking. I changed it anyway. I always use premium full synthetic motor oil which gets changed along with oil filter at 5K miles. I now have it on my schedule to change it at 60K mile intervals, just for preventive maintenance. Also, be sure to torque the bolts to proper specs. Access is much easier from below with the oil filter off. In my opinion, the K24 series engine is the best one Honda has ever made.
The ending of the video states that the starter was also replaced, actually the starter video was filmed before the gasket filter change, I invite you to check that video as well, the filter change had nothing to do with the starter problem.
No, change your spark plugs to NGK laser iridiums and put delphi ignition coils from rock auto on, should most likely solve the catalytic converter code.
You know the "decreased fuel economy" "rough idle" typical signs, I decided to change it because I knew the vehicle was neglected in the past, apparently the worst case scenario would be improper lubrication therefore premature wear of internal components since oil should flow freely through those filters.

Did changing the screen and gasket address the problem? At the end of the video it seems as though the engine would not start. Thanks!

@@MPAutomotiveCrafts Starters don't last long on these cars and access is not great. I passed this job onto my Honda specialist mechanic.
Thanks for the video! Could a leaky gasket clog the catalytic converter and trigger the Check Engine light?
