I look forward to all of the journeys that the fly fishers embark on ! I can just imagine the adrenaline that comes from fighting these beautiful fish! And you guys bring us right along with you to enjoy this marvelous sport! Thanks !
Nice video as always. One thing that I cant help but wonder is why dont the guides use a net to land the fishes ? It seems like many times a fish is lost due to fumbling around trying to grab the fish by the tail. I watch many salmon videos and this is not unique to this particular case either. A net is more gentle on the fish as you dont have to squeeze and anchor your hand around the tail so hard.
Actually they do when fish jump and twist alot like Atlantic Salmon. Experienced same with smallmouth bass which jump a great deal. Smaller the barbless fly, the less likely it will come out has been our experience. Happens a great deal with rainbow trout in Manitoba where it is illegal to use barbed flies.
