I noticed a couple things from this match. 1. Sometimes Djokovic inexplicably plays a horrible service game. 2. It often doesn’t matter because he immediately raises his level/the opponent gets comfortable. 3. No lead is safe against Djokovic.
Also Murray is notorious for getting broken right after breaking his opponents serves, he gets complacent and passive. Also his 2nd serve is by far his weakest shot, basically sets up shot for returner
Djokovic won everything twice also he is deserved to be called as goat of tennis sport also in open era Nadal is unofficial goat of tennis Djokovic is official goat of tennis.
It wasn't necessarily level, he played the match tactically wrong right from the start. Needs to rush Novak, use high topspin balls and then drive his backhand cross court, didn't do that enough here. Just played the physical game
he does have a lot of big wins against these three (Grand Slams, Masters 1000, Olympics). He just has a lot more losses. He obviously isn't anywhere near the level of the Big 3.
Their duels have taught us that Murray can match Djokovic level even on finals, but there are two main differences between them: 1.- Sustaining: Djokovic can maintain his high level of tennis for much more time. Murray can keep it up with him for a couple of hours, but most of the times his level eventually falls and a close and intense match soon becomes a one sided, in Djokovic favour. 2.- Clutchness: needless to say, Djokovic is the clutchiest player ever and that's been a huge factor in their matches: in many ocassions they've been decided by a couple of crucial points that Djokovic played better than Murray, even if it's just by not making an UE. That's the difference between a respectable champion and one of the biggest champions this sport has seen.
It’s more than that . Technically and tactically it’s Murray’s second serve and too much defense which made him lose the vast majority of their encounters . Djokovic is a better ball striker than Murray and after 2014 where he went more proactive with his transition game he was able to put Murray out of his comfort zone where he likes to trade from the back of the court and tries to beat Djokovic with his versatility grit and change of pace . More often than not he was too passive . When he won he served well and hit the ball with purpose and went after it .
Gabriel Vergara San Martín Djokovics biggest advantage he has over Murray is that he hits the ball earlier cleaner and can dictate the most of the rallies . It’s up to Murray to change the pattern
Rafa would probably have to be the clutchiest player ever since he has more comeback victories than anyone else- however Nole's right beside him in that tier- proving it at Wimbledon last year
@@ertugrulkorpinar51 That's a very interesting technical analysis. It's true that Murray sometimes gets too passive and lets Djokovic control the rallies: for example, I remember some factors that made the difference between AO final and Montréal final back in 2015 was Murray second serve being faster and better placed, besides hitting the backhand with more power, more aggressive. So, I got to say I agree with some things you pointed out. However, my point stands still and I'm gonna bring on a couple of matches to explain it. Murray was outplaying Djokovic in AO 2012 semifinal, hitting the flattest groundstrokes I've ever seen from him. He dropped his level in the fourth set and Djokovic saved some critical situations in the fifth, winning the match. In the famous Shanghai final, Murray was playing better, taking advantage of the fast court conditions, but Djokovic elevated his game when he had to save five match points in the second set and ended up winning the championship. AO finals in 2013 and 2015 were very similar: two tiebreaks in the first couple of sets and two solid sets for Djokovic in third and fourth, because he kept playing with the same intensity and Murray couldn't. I believe it's a mix of all, since even in some matches Murray was playing more aggressive and beating Djokovic, the mental aspects turned the match around for him.
@@bluesjha I think it's a misconception: Nadal has the biggest fighting spirit in the game, as he will never give up on a match until the last rally is over, but Djokovic has nerves of steel, elevating his level in crucial moments and making his opponents feel the pressure. That's what people usually refer to with the "clutch" expression and, therefore, Djokovic is the clutchiest and it's not even debatable. Now, speaking about comebacks, that's a debatable statement. Nadal is known for his comebacks, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's the largest number of comebacks. For example, Federer leads in 0-2 comebacks in GS with 10, while Nadal has 2. You could be right though, but do you have any stats about Nadal leading in comebacks?

I think the 3rd set says it all. He needs to play super agressive against djoko but thats not his playing style
I think that's the main difference b/w Roger & Nole. The latter finds a way to win even when not playing inexplicably well. Federer though, has to be on his best to win an important/hard match.
You are right; that's why wimbledon 2019 was a marginal win for Djokovic because a) he was about 70% of his usual self, b) he had difficulty reading Federer's serve that day.
I can’t believe it. Nadal is 1 grand slam away from Federer, and right now Federer is injured. But with the corona outbreak, Roland Garros is definitely gonna get cancelled. What do you call destiny.
Murray’s lack of aggression is ultimately why he couldn’t win as much as big 3. When Lendl coached him, he made Andy play more aggressively and take more chances, resulting in a few slams and gold medals. But without Lendl, he played too defensively and Nadal, Fed, Novak would usually overwhelm him.
I'm a lifelong Murray supporter. Much more to it then just his "lack of aggression". The main factor is that Djokovic, Nadal and Federer are just so far ahead of everyone else in every single category. They have amassed 56 Grand Slam titles between them. Even peak Murray could not sustain the level that these guys produce week in week out. I think he probably achieved as much as he possibly could (three majors, a small stint at World No. 1) in his career. I think he deserved at least one Grand Slam down under but apart from that he has fulfilled his potential. The Big 3 have completely and utterly dominated the men's game for the past 15 years and winning a Grand Slam during this era is almost nigh on impossible. Wawrinka is the only other player to win multiple majors with Murray.
What separates Murray from the top three is that they have better conditioning and fitness. If murray had those two things he would have at least twice as many slams.
Novak the GOAT 🐐 . We also have to accept that Murray was one of the top 3 players(With Novak and Rafa) in those immensely competitive years between 2011 and 2016. He achieved more than what Roger did in that timeframe. Shows what a great player he was 🎉
Murray, nadal,Federer djorkovich the four best players such rivalry, they each beat each other on many occasions, the other three have more slams but Andy has two Olympic golds and a knighthood ,something the other three will never have
Lord Murray has always been undershadowed by Nole. So many finals like these where he falls short to win the final. If not he should have 5 AO titles by now.(If you know what I mean).
I’m sure it’s a combination of the two, but man Novak had a lot more competition 8-10 years Ago, plus he has improved But the young guys today are cooked mentally against him before they even take court. And that was earned by Novak. I don’t like him but I respect him.
First Murray will dominate and threaten to beat the pulp out of Rafa Djoko, slowly he will allow them to crawl back in the match till they are all over him and he will end up shaking the Umpire's hand first and then his head in exasperation.
Murray looks so tired towards the end, he goes from toe to toe highly competitive with Nole at the start to missing standard backhands and constantly bending over to catch his breath
Djokovic is undboubtedly one of the all-time greats...but man...he's boring as hell. If he wants to know why he's not as popular as Roger and Rafa? Well...that's because those two are not a snoozefest...and I don't even like Nadal.

Lord Murray has always been undershadowed by Nole. So many finals like these where he falls short to win the final. If not he should have 5 AO titles by now.(If you know what I mean).
Djokovic-Nadal 2009 Madrid PLEASE
Amazing standard of tennis in the first 2 sets, Murray ran out of steam in the last.
Could you guys post the Kyrgios Acapulco 2020 match?
(I’m just kidding lol.)
Alan Golden you should be a comedian
I think djoko strat here is to make murray tired look some of the attack he can return it but he chose not to
Nole 🐐❤️
Por eso uso "Lacoste", porque la usa el campeón.
No veo campamentos donde no
I’m sure it’s a combination of the two, but man Novak had a lot more competition 8-10 years Ago, plus he has improved
But the young guys today are cooked mentally against him before they even take court. And that was earned by Novak. I don’t like him but I respect him.
Next up Djokovic Vs Nadal '14 Final
This is hardly a classic match
Shaky match from my point of view
Whats with all those loopy shots
Wind.
It's basically waiting for opponent errors... Such boring rallies and Novak is best in producing it
@@vijayendranvijay4538 This was a pretty agressive match from both sides though? They were going to the net quite often.
@@vijayendranvijay4538 never say novak is boring have u seen nole rafa matches murray is a pusher thats why the match is boring
Very good highlights... but boring match ;)
It’s boring because it’s novak..you fedal fan are very poor.
Much more interesting than 3 shot rallies👍

Rome 2016.
First Murray will dominate and threaten to beat the pulp out of Rafa Djoko, slowly he will allow them to crawl back in the match till they are all over him and he will end up shaking the Umpire's hand first and then his head in exasperation.
Murray's smashes are a joke
At the final set murray is not good
Warriors
Pretty boring rallies imo
That's disgusting, hideous, sickening, boooooo Djokovic
Boring as hell.
Just read the US Open will get a new surface, even slower of course.
Disgraceful!
This was actually pretty fun for a djokovic murray match. They were going to the net quite often.
Ok boomer
its your opinion, his fans love his game style, i am boring of serve then volley style
Murray looks so tired towards the end, he goes from toe to toe highly competitive with Nole at the start to missing standard backhands and constantly bending over to catch his breath
BAGEL
tan aburrido
These two’s similarities in playing style makes their matches against each other very boring
So do not watch
They’re not similar
Djokovic is undboubtedly one of the all-time greats...but man...he's boring as hell. If he wants to know why he's not as popular as Roger and Rafa? Well...that's because those two are not a snoozefest...and I don't even like Nadal.
sir andy murray is the most overrated tennis player of all time.
Overrated really three slams, two Olympic golds, numerous wins at queen,Davis cup a knighthood world no 1 yea very overrated pal
Never tough against murry for djoko
Boring play
هذه مباشر معقوله الحين طيب ماهي جميع المناسبات الرياضيه معلقه ارجو الرد
Djokovic clearly has the majority crowd support.
