    Sir, nice trailer build. I’ve made small garden tractor trailers like that and one of my lessons learned, after replacing multiple bent axles, is to weld in a grade 8 bolt for the axle. Scott

    I like to have a portable fan blowing on high when I’m welding galvanized, along with a mask too. Thanks!

    I’m going to build a trailer for my Craftsman tractor soon. I will be using 2.5” square tubing and a 2” ball hitch coupler. It’s going to be a dually single axle trailer. The dimensions are going to be 4’ wide x 5’ long x 2’ high.

    Nice job on the trailer! Looks professional. Is the metal that you were using hot or cold rolled? Thanks

    • @StephenOgle
      @StephenOgle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Alex. Glad you enjoyed this project. The frame tubing was 2 inch square with 1/8" wall and the sheet was 16 gauge. Hope this helps. Take care.

      @@StephenOgle Thank you! I will be ordering metal to build my own now. I hope my trailer turns out as good as yours!

    Watch out for torqueing and twisting of the front cross member of the trailer frame where the tongue is welded to it. Without an extension of the tongue farther
    back to an other crossmember the frame tongue weight can cause the front crossmember to twist. Probably would have been better to have the tongue extended
    back to the center crossmember. Looking good though.

      My thoughts too, David. He might gain some strength by welding some gussets to the tongue and frame.

    • @StephenOgle
      @StephenOgle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you David, I agree. You will see in the next part how I braced the front cross member. Not good enough for a Road worthy trailer but I think it will be really strong for a lawn trailer. My other little trailer didn't even have a crossmember. LOL!! Thank you very much for your suggestion and take care.

      Thank you sir. So glad you enjoyed this project. I am sorry to say I do not know exactly how much this trailer cost me. Estimating it was between 300 to 350 I am sure. Including the winch, wheels and the steel materials. I hope this helps. take care.

      @@StephenOgle that’s awesome. Do you know the thickness of that tubing? I wanted to go use the same stuff. How many purses just for the frame?

    Put some anti-sieze compound on the axle shafts so they don't rust to the wheels when the trailer sits idle ?

    There just Chinese junk.the tires for these n wheel barrows are so cheap n thin they can't hold air for much more than a year.

    • @StephenOgle

      Thank you and I agree. I could not find others with the same axle size. I think they will be fine on a lawn trailer though. Mostly carrying leaves and compost. Take care.
