Love the set !----a mad scaffolding jungle with light effects !......how wildly different,( yet somehow related !)---to Miku's set for one of her sweet poppy songs---the one with dozens of umbrellas lit from underneath !!....they just put the Avant in Avant-garde !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Akane is so attuned to the music that it's easy to overlook how much she contributes to each and every song. She's such a bad-ass drummer, but she never steps on anyone's toes, and is so in sync with everyone else, whether it's the vocals or bass or guitar solos. Love your reactions, man.
Welcome in the world of band-maid, band-maiko, also acoustic band-maid is too much for everything human on this planet. 😂 My favorite band-maid's is influencer, Blooming, secret my lips or secret my maiko lips, one and only or tora tora, smile, honey, hide and seek, Hibana, Chemical reaction, Shamble, Thrill, ...stop i love everything songs of band-maid. I saw you listening band-maid's songs is will a marathon for you. Band-maid is really the best rock band of the world since 2013.
Now check out the OTHER "B" Side of this song, Unfair Game. You have already listened to Matchless Gum, now try Unfair Game. And be prepared to have your mind blown by Kanami's fingers. Technically YOLO is the OLDEST song by Band-Maid, being from a song that Kanami wrote before she joined the band. But I think you need to listen to the Live version from their 2017 Studio Coast performance. Hearing how Miku fills the left channel, shows just how far she had come in only 3.5 years of learning to play. And MISA is one of the few bassists I am aware of who regularly performs tremolo picking. I think I've heard her do some sweep picking a few times, but the song's titles escape me at the moment, but they were live performances, not studio.
YOLO, a Kanami original, composed pre Band-Maid. That lady is a musical goddess. Miku added the lyrics, read the translations, there is a powerful message in there. My all-time favorite Band-Maid song (at least for now.) Your reaction was priceless. Big, big thanks for your review, now I can rest.
I think thay Miku had very little college education as she was in a hurry to get to Tokyo and get into the music industry. How does she write such great lyrics with basically a high school education? Now all of Band-Maid is starting to write lyrics. Wow wow wow.
The genius of the Maids. The solo is so great and then it goes into the bridge and the bridge is building up to this final burst and you think it's the final chorus, your big payoff being the thing you've heard twice already, which is what most songs do; verse-chorus-verse-chorus-solo (optional)-bridge-big chorus. Instead they hit you with another bridge and that's your big payoff, a whole new unique moment in the song that honestly could have been the chorus for its own song, before ending with that final chorus as a more measured outro. It's that something special that most bands don't do. Nobody builds bridges better than the Maids.
Trust in the Maids. Even a song that doesn't grab you on first listen makes sense as the only way the song could possibly be after 2-3 listens and you're in love with yet another Band-Maid song. All their songs have such authentic emotion, it just doesn't matter what the language is. I am convinced that Kanami is a sorceress and just writes spells that sound like music that make you love Band-Maid.
@@jeffedwards9180 ....?..hhmmmm......what's this, a Conspiracy Theory ??....I dunno, ..what if Miku's spell is spread wide enough to contain Mincho's ?...maybe Kanami IS part of the Miku spell ?.....on the other hand, Kanami must indeed be a sorceress,,,,hmmm....difficult, this....muzukashii ne ?
Musicians and music engineers understand Band-Maid's intricacies. I don't care what Band-Maid song you listen to, when broken down their writing and musicianship it just blasts you in the face.....if not at first...it will. They have no bad/mediocre song, they are ALL great when appreciated.
In the future, I hope you react to Band-Maid music video next to their "white room" instrumentals from their TH-cam channel and from the "Instrumental Maid" TH-cam. It will give you an amazing insight into their instrumental talent without vocals. Don't get me wrong, I love Saiki and Miku's vocals, the "white room" instrumentals really makes you appreciate how professional they are. The "white room" videos allow you to hone into each instrumentalist individual skill sets.
This song is a grower. It was never bad, but after a few listens it became a high tier Band-Maid track. It's one of their "subtle genius" tracks even though that solo is anything but subtle lol.
Once in a while a reactor comes along that knows how to convey, not only the teqnichal aspects of band maid, but even more importantly, the emotion, joy and love that these Maids put into their music. You my good sir, are a true Maidiac! 😎
Ords, struggling to find the groove with Band Maid is normal. This song took me a dozen listens to catch. Trust in Mincho. She’s a genius composer who is writing and arranging stuff our ears aren’t conditioned for. As a personal example? I picked up a bass in 1980. Picked up plenty of Geddy bass lines by ear. MISA’s bass solo in “From Now On?” I was lost. Embarrassingly lost. Took me a few spins to figure out what she was hearing and playing to.
Band Maid is the only band I've ever listened to that hasn't put out a "bad" song. There are some songs I like better than others but nothing is bad or filler. Best rock band on the planet.
I agree and it’s amazing because they do NOT play it safe. Sure many of their songs are accessible for a broad audience but even those songs usually challenge the listener in one way or another with some complex compositional choices, and high-level musicianship.
Hey boss i got a video idea , hear me out , lets grab the maids , their instruments n surround them around a bunch twisted ass metal n let them play , boss , that even safe ? , prolly not but we do it all the time , boss , ok bring the pyro guys just in case po!

I love this song so much!!
you must listen : "YOU" , the next underrated music ,you will not be disappointed
I love their typical 2nd verse Maid noodling...no cut-n-paste...Great Compositions 👌👊🤘🤘🤘
💜💛❤💙💚

Saiki's voice in Yolo❤❤❤❤

These verses are off the chain, very syncopated and complex. Sometimes they make me laugh out loud they're so amazing. And this is early maid!!
Please I still seek revenge. ❤
Great reaction and the set was in good shape prior to filming the video.
I got so excited last-night during your stream when I saw Polska Bob request these 2 songs..I knew today would be a great day🍻
I had too , we can't let ords miss 2 of their biggest songs po!

YOLO might be my second favorite after Corallium. It was a rough time for Saiki’s vocal chords, but she sounded so good kind of husky like this.
This is one of those amazing songs from them where you hear something new every time you listen to it. I just love this song so much. It's special.

Wait till you hear YOUTH from the 2021 Day of Maid ! 🤯
YOLO -- You Only Listen Once, 🫨 and you've been Maid! 🎀😍🎀 Thx, Ords!
😂
There's something about YOLO makes me a bit emotional 🕊️❤️

So, are you saying it's been Mincho's Omajinai Time all along and not Miku's.... 🤔😄

"Not what I expected." Doesn't that describe them perfectly?
Band maid has 3 names. Band maid, band maiko and not what I was expecting
Minchu went YOLO on that solo

Band-Maid, enough said lol. These ladies are amazing ❤
It did take me a couple of listens but as always they won again 😄
RIGHT! lol

I agree it certainly is a stand out piece of work by kanami that shows her mastery of composure . She just feeds the fans a musical feast.

You are joking, right??

🍺😆
Ha !
Even better commentary than your usual cogent and passionate analysis. Thanks Ords! Madiacs for life!!!
The best Band-Maid song, I think, it's a shame that with so many pauses you missed the progression of the song and its details.😔
Yet another reactor who ruins the music. Band Maid deserve better.
