That may be! I do find some things easier with watercolor. I find it easier to achieve a loose effect with watercolor since it's so fluid. I feel like I've got a lot to learn. I'm looking forward to further exploration!

Paris suits you Michael. You fit right in. I’ve already told you that I’m glad to see you doing some watercolor. As along time watercolorist I know the medium can be difficult. It dries lighter, not darker . So go ahead and put down those darks. Lights are very important in watercolor, but remember you Must have the darks in order to show the light. I thoroughly enjoyed the painting sequences, next spring I’m definitely crossing La Manche with my paintbox. The passers by in the video are also a source of amusement. It’s clear they are curious, so much rubber necking to see what is going on. It’s a pity barely anyone is prepared to chat, to ask about the painting process. Respect or fear?

I'm drawn to water so I spend most of my time down by the Seine but I really enjoy the parks as well. Luxembourg Gardens in particular. As for museums I always visit the Musee d'Orsay. There's so much to explore in Paris. Just walk around and enjoy!

Oh good! I haven't tried gouache yet. I was inspired to try watercolor by the watercolors of Homer and Hopper. Watercolor is also perfect for traveling. I love it.

I'm definitely inspired by Yasujiru Ozu. Being a painter has also influenced my approach to filming. I compose my shots the same way I compose my paintings.

People are more likely to talk to me when I'm painting alone. Maybe they feel like they're intruding if there are two or more painters.

I did all the filming myself. I've never had anyone approach my camera when I'm filming from afar. Yes, Le Bristol is wonderful!
