This is a great teaching moment for me. I always get hung up on all the details. This is a good representation of finding the shapes first. So thank you. Definitely gave me Inspiration to pick up my pencil/brush again
Beautiful painting - As always, I appreciate watching your process, color choices, and composition decisions- very cool. also love seeing the scenes of the city!
I have worn my best flannels and still there is always someone who looks down their nose. lol. Your painting looks great from this side of the screen. Wish I was there.
Ok your clothing comments at the beginning cracked me up!! So fun to see you paint in a totally different location- and such a complex subject. Beautiful job, can’t wait to further adventures!
Michael Chamberlain and Paris - a match made in heaven. I took a photo of the Pont Neuf from street level behind you. Funny that it's name means 'new bridge' considering it's the oldest stone bridge (built in the 16th century) in Paris spanning the Siene.
Michael , 10:17 , your review begins , “” see the girl upon the tunnel wall , long peach gown “” everybody will see , also , your creativity is amazing, thank you Michael, beautiful painting
Yep..I'm Irish but was working in Arizona for 5 years....absorbing the Southwestern culture ect. Then had to move to Luxembourg.. I was wondering what they were all smirking at. Realised it was ma boots !.... had to change my footwear first chance I got ! Everyone looked very formal ( and wealthy ) there.
I love how the painting turned out!!!! It’s even more impressive knowing you had such a limited pallet! And I’m sure it will be such a nice memory of your trip to Paris!!🇫🇷🥐🥖
So weird, yesterday I watched your last Paris visit with the couple who took over your painting.. 😀 joining your Patreon today after watching almost all your videos.
Beautiful! No shortage of subjects and scenes in Paris, that's for sure. I can't think of many more ways to spend a wonderful morning/afternoon than painting on the banks of the Seine. It sounds luxurious and in my humble opinion, it is. I always like your explanations of how you trouble shoot Michael. They're very reassuring. Beautiful painting. I look forward to more. With the time and inclination you could do a whole Paris series, nest pas?
Thanks, Matthew! Yes, so much to paint along the Seine. I've enjoyed looking at the paintings of Edward Hopper and Albert Marquet. I'm hoping to do a few more paintings/videos while I'm here.
@@chamberlainpaintings Please don't! I lived & worked in Paris for 16 years, unfortunately I came home to the UK. Love Paris & the French way of life. I'm now stuck in the Midlands, with the Brexit drawbridge firmly down, having lost my rights. International Project Manager to courier driver. French food to empty shelves. I'm off to strop! ;-(
I really get inspired by your composition and drawing skills! And WOW PARIS!!! also really liked pics at end...the 'flavor' of Paris!! Thanks bunches fran
I was expecting this video, Pat told me you were in Paris. You visit that city more often than I do and I live just 350 miles away lol. The painting is beautiful, very parisian obviously as the subtle window panes you did on the buildings...impressionists used to sugest windows like that. Enjoy the capital and as you know, you are welcome in the south anytime you want.
Thanks, Martin! It would be nice to come to France on a regular basis. So much to paint! So many good museums! Emma's work is mostly in Paris but I'd love to paint in the south sometime. Hopefully soon!
the finish work , like the strong stone edges, multiple color reflections indicative of sky’s light with all it surrounds, movement in the water strong foreground right, beautiful painting, I like it 🧐😃❤️
-(thank you michael , there is a sure and certain quality to this painting , all of your paintings have that, and more actually, like “” feeling “” , also “” thought”” , even “” touch “” , difficult to explain but im here, all ways)- ❤️
Painting en Plein Aire in Paris is a must, the light is beautiful and the whole French atmosphere is such a treat. I do not think anywhere matches. Would love to go back. Just came across your channel. Love it! What warm yellow would you have wanted to add to your palette?
Solo estuve una vez en París durante 3 días y disfrute como nunca del Louvre y de la rivera del Sena q para mí es mágica. Disfruta de ese marco incomparable Michael.
Lovely video. The light does change a lot more this side of the ocean! I live in Scotland where it changes all the time. When visiting with my son in the East Bay Area I notice the difference.
Hi Nice painting from Paris! You have to come to Strasbourg where I live to paint the "Petite France" (little France) I will be happy to make you discover Alsace
This made my day! I felt like I got a little slice of Paris by surprise today. Your painting is lovely! Remember last time when the guy wanted his wife to get a picture of himself acting like he was painting your painting? That was weird. 😆 The hotel looks beautiful.
Very nice composition...thank you for taking the time to film the surrounding areas...hope to see more....wish your videos were longer....but, it's understandable...takes time. Be safe...have a wonderful time.. The ending would make a beautiful piece.. nocturnal...haven't seen you do one?
Nice work! I've only painted once in that area, I want to go back and do it again. Also, that Sennelier shop you visited is so cool, it feels really old school.
So beautiful!!! Great painting, even with a limited palette. I love hearing the sounds of the city in the background, I felt like I was there!! Enjoy this beautiful city!!!
I just discover your work and thats really good 👏, I saw a lot of your painting and it will be amazing to watch you paint other place of France like Loctudy, Lesconil or La Pointe du Raz ... Sorry for my English
Great to see you enjoying Paris, doing what you love the most. So funny, your comments about the clothing. The French always want the style to have something of a 'Je ne sais quoi' (don't know if the spelling is right or not). Just do your thing. Great painting as always!! Love how you handle the intricate buildings, keeping only the essentials.
Very well done! I did change my color palette and I was given 4 small stretcher bars which I will stretch canvas. I am paying attention to your color mixing techniques because this really helps me to get an idea of the color theory. Now, i look forward to painting!
I really enjoyed this. I’ve just come off of a trip painting lots of old architecture and found that yellow ochre plus white or warm white if you have it does wonders for those aged cream colored buildings. Your point about the clothes? I run into that every day! Haha.
It is true that when the climate changes, the sense of the tones of the place usually changes, but I think that painting looks incredible 🔝
Anyone else super soothed by these videos??🧖♀️
OMG!!!! I can't believe you're in PARIS and didn't tell us beforehand...!!!WOW!!
It was actually a last minute trip! I'm here with my daughter for the Louis Vuitton show at the Louvre. I'm glad it all worked out!
Thanks, Donna!
I have worn my best flannels and still there is always someone who looks down their nose. lol. Your painting looks great from this side of the screen. Wish I was there.
Thanks, Michael! I feel like a nice flannel is alway appropriate!
just clicked on your Notre Dame video now I'm obsessed!
Ok your clothing comments at the beginning cracked me up!! So fun to see you paint in a totally different location- and such a complex subject. Beautiful job, can’t wait to further adventures!
Thanks, Sharron!

Excellent! One of my favorites you've painted.

I love this, the edting style, the music all reminds me of ratatouille in the best way possible!!
Another winner Michael. Bocamexa cracked me up. Who else but you could find a Mexican hole in the wall in Paris for a daily burrito fix. 😋
Thanks! Haha, I've actually been surviving mostly on panini! But as you know I can't pass up a burrito when the opportunity presents itself. 😂👍
i love watching him paint
Loved the mini vlog in Paris
Just beautiful. Felt like I was right there in Paris, thanks for that. Loved the 'Burrito in Paris" :)
Thanks!
The painting turned out wonderfully! And you’re humour at the beginning was gold!
😂🙏
Thanks for the video! was very relaxing to see the process of the painting

I love how you have painted the cloud.
That's a typical European sky - clouds, sunlight, changing light, possibility of a rain shower 😄
(Daniel)
So calming, so beautiful. Thank you :)
your paintings are honestly always so beautiful and interesting to look at!
your videos are so soothing! helps me go to sleep sometimes not going to lie , but love the paintings
Wow! Very nice painting.

I thought I was watching Emma at the Met in the beginning! Beautiful catching the light on the bridge. So tricky and you did it.
Thanks, Mary Kay!
I see that you have changed the sound of the sea for that of Paris. What a beauty everything you do. Love it.
Just wow. 😍 Paint up a storm!
Gorgeous!

That was so beautifully done- the painting, the editing, the music. Really nice instructions too.
I have to comment. That is gorgeous, really nice. I liked the closeups.
Cool that even in Paris…you found a burrito !

Looking good....enjoy your time...be safe....a well deserved trip for you...
Haven't watched yet....stopped at 0:27...lol...very nice...
Thanks, Joy!
You are too cute!
Perhaps next time in Paris you can bring a top hat and monocle to fit in
Love this! So funny that you found un petit burrito (hilarious!). Now all we need is to see you ride the wakes of the bateau mouche. Quay "Kai".
haha, yes! If only I could find a board in Paris. And a wetsuit!
Even without your warm yellow, you created a breathtaking painting! Paris is so beautiful.
Such a beautiful painting
Thanks, Jackie!

Great how you make compositional decisions and keep it simple by eliminating details in the overall design and painting.
Thanks, Frank!
This is awesome. Beautiful painting . Love that bridge too
Thanks!
Great painting.
Thanks!
Welcome to France where we live. Great to see you painting in the city and applying your technique and approach. As always thanks for sharing.
Thanks Bob!
Olive the way you anchored the composition first with the darks. So glad you included the curves in the bridge structure to lead us into the scene.i
Thanks, Marcy!

Very serene!
Your show at Studio Gallery is fabulous, Michael! Saw it yesterday, and highly recommend folks to drop by and see it if in San Francisco!

Looks awesome! Buy some more panels to paint on over there. Three is not enough!
Thanks, Tim! If I have time I will!
Loved this video, Michael. I could sense your joy in the process, and appreciated all of the close ups of your painting- great result! It’s a keeper!

Thanks! Yes, the art store has a rich history. I'll have to look into it. I think it's been around for over 100 years.

Absolutely stunning. Enjoyed watching you work.
These are really inspiring me to get into painting
you should seek out Jose Salvaggio and paint with him. Another TH-cam Plein air painter. He lives in France.
I'll have to look him up.

love this painting a lot, and the other one you did while in Paris!
haha i can totally relate to being the odd duck out in the clothing department.
Do you ever take a reference photo to capture the light as you like it? Or do you just work with what is given to you?
